Religion / Tithing Is A Ritual. by dukecharles(m): 7:15pm On Oct 23, 2018 |
Tuesday Meditation Tithing is a Ritual. St Paul encouraged us as Christians to ”test all teachings; hold fast what is good. 1 Thessalonians 5: 20 -21. Many a time we hear some preachers making insinuations that if one doesn't tithe, his life would be tight. Nothing could be further from the truth. We should be able to test every teaching with this words ”Is this in line with the new covenant of God's grace? Are there new covenant Scriptures to back up this teaching. If there's none, lay it aside. It's interesting to note that neither Jesus nor his disciples paid tithe or encouraged anyone to do so, they only paid tax and encouraged people to give freely not under any kind of compulsion. Cf 2 Cor 9 vs 7. So why are preacher making tithing a sine qua non to Gods grace and unmerited favour? Your guess is as good as mine, GREED. The devil can cite the scriptures for his own purpose especially the old testament. So be careful when you hear them quote, Malachi 3 vs 10, Gen 14 vs 19. Lev. 27 vs 30.
When you read your Bible as a Christian, read everything in its context, don't just take what the preacher says hook, line and sinker, do your personal research and meditate on the word for supernatural enlightenment and understanding. It was Miles Coverdale, the man that translated and produced the 1st English Bible in the 16th Century who said ”It shall greatly help thee to understand Scripture, if thou mark not only what is spoken or written, but of whom, and unto whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstance, considering what goeth before, and what followeth after.
The old testament/ covenant of Law and rituals is just like the Rear-view mirror( very small), whereas, the new testament/covenant of grace and unmerited favour is like the windshield(very big). You can't go forward while looking at the rear mirror, you will definitely crash you go forward y concentrating on the windshield. In the old covenant, God commanded the Israelites to set aside their first-born male (man and animal alike) and 10% of their harvest for him, and for the upkeep and support of the priest, synagogue, the poor, orphans, widows and foreigners. But in the new covenant, God offered his first and only begotten son for our sake once and for all, for the remission of sin and command us to love our neighbours as ourselves, and always give without measure, for God loves a cheerful giver. This is what the new covenant of grace hinges on. To me, it's an insult to Jesus salvific work and kind of ritual practice to percentage what we offer God from his goodness to us.
The old testament Malachi 3 vs 10 ”Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine House...” Has been replaced by new testament Luke 6 vs 38 ”Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over...”
In conclusion, we cannot mix the Gospel of grace and law together, it's either we take Christ as our reference point as Christians or we take Moses. There is no mid-point. Hebrew 7: 18 says the former Commandment is set aside because it is weak and useless.
Plz. Don't take my words for it, research, meditate and pray about this topic. It's just my personal opinion .
Remain Blessed. |

Politics / Re: Anthony Sani Blasts Obasanjo, Speaks On North Voting For Atiku by dukecharles(m): 12:19pm On Oct 13, 2018 |
8Ebisco: Elder Stateman and Secretary General of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Mr. Anthony Sani has said former President Olusegun Obasanjo is suffering from a dearth of vision, conviction and consistency required of a statesman.
Sani stated this following Obasanjo’s endorsement of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who he had earlier condemned.
Sani in a statement made available to newsmen noted that Obasanjo may change his mind again and withdraw his support for Atiku before 2019 with the level of his inconsistency.
He queried Obasanjo’s values, stressing that he is supposed to be an embodiment of national ideals and moral values for the nation.
The statement read: “The actions of Obasanjo reek of inconsistency which comes with a dearth of vision and conviction required of a statesman. From tearing his PDP card and saying he would no more play partisan politics.
“Then Obasanjo formed a movement which he said is the third force only for him to convert it into a political party, ADC. Then the final act, the endorsement of former Vice President Atiku.
“It is democracy in action which at once confirms the saying that the only thing that is permanent in politics is interest; no permanent friends or enemies.
“If you consider what the former President has written about his former Vice President Abubakar Atiku to the extent of saying God would not forgive him if he endorsed Atiku for president, then you can hardly avoid the conclusion that common decency is yet to take root in our democracy, especially when regard is paid to the place of the former president in the order of things in Nigeria.
“President Obasanjo is a statesman who is expected to be an embodiment of national ideals and moral values for the nation. But the way he has conducted himself by tearing his PDP card and saying he would no more play partisan politics and forming a movement which he said is third force only for him to convert it to a political party of ADC, culminating in the endorsement of former VP Atiku reeks of inconsistency that comes with dearth of vision and conviction required of statesmen.
“That may explain why most Nigerians may be curt and dismissive of the former president out of fear that he is just like a reed who can change his mind before the day of elections in 2019.”
Speaking on the North supporting Atiku following Obasanjo’s endorsement, Sani added: “It is not possible for the whole North to be with former President Obasanjo in that endorsement precisely because the former Vice President is a major challenger of the incumbent President who is also a Northerner and a Hausa/Fulani Muslim.
“As a result, politics of identity as symbolised by ethnicity, religion and of region would give way for those of real issues of real concern to real ordinary Northerners and by extension Nigerians.”

gidgiddy: "If you keep doing what you have always done, you will keep getting what you have always gotten" ~English proverb
Why do people vote in elections? To elect competent leaders who will ensure their safety and welfare? If that is the case then there is no point voting in 2019. The various tribes that make up the SE/SS area should boycott the 2019 elections for several reasons:
1) People have been voting for the last 20 years in Nigeria with no tangible benefit.
2) The SE/SS should come to the realisation that Nigeria is a monumental disaster and anyone who participates in its politics will be part of that disaster
3) Boycotting the 2019 elections will help the SS/SE focus on more important things such as self determination
4) Boycotting the polls will send a powerful message to the international community as well the political elite of Nigeria that the people no longer want to be part of the political process, and by extension, Nigeria.
In the last 20 years that people have been voting in Nigeria, 50 million people in th country have been pushed into poverty making it the poverty capital of the world. China where they don't even vote, has managed to pull over 300 million people out of poverty.
So What is the point of voting if voting has never done you any good?
Zones that have held the presidency and vice-presidency for years have nothing to show for it but ignorant fools are still insisting on getting these positions as if it is heaven and Earth.
IF YOU TRULY WANT TO MAKE A CHANGE, BOYCOTT THE 2019 ELECETIONS AND INSIST ON SELF DETERMINATION!
DONT BE THE FOOL WHO GOES TO VOTE IN THE NEXT SET OF THEIVES WHO WILL BLEED YOU DRY! NIGERIA DOES NOT WORKS AS A NATION, NO MATTER WHO WINS!
DONT BE THE FOOL WHOSE VOTE NEVER COUNTS BUT IS USED TO MAKE UP THE NUMBERS!

1. Osita has been a son to Obj since 2009 when he appointed him to head the FRSC. Most events at OOPL Abeokuta always had Osita in attendance and a close sit with Baba.
2. Obj in recent times has clamoured for the South East to get a bite at the national cake especially the presidency.
3. Osita has been unusually close with Atiku's in recent times.
4. With the recent blessing from Baba he will want to have an input into Atiku's government and who better to represent him than Osita.
This is not leaving out the intellectual sagacity of Osita and his innovative ideas, he's young and relatively experienced in politics, he will be the best fit going forward. Best man for the job |

Politics / Re: Is Atiku Abubakar The Next Nigerian President? by dukecharles(m): 6:06pm On Oct 07, 2018 |
kimjongJezebel: It is not compulsory one believes what I am going to say. It is important to note that, not everytime dreams become a reality. Sometimes those who believe in dreams and has experienced it can vividly project, depending on who and how the dream came about, the outcome. Again, it is not something that is rigid but can change.
A few months to the 2015 general elections, I had a dream. In the dream, I saw Rt. Hon Rotimi Amaechi, the Fmr Rivers State Governor on a podium in Abuja, and there was a large crowd. He was singing and dancing like a musician repeatedly saying "we have done it; we have made history; a new era has begun..." Then I awoke. Reflecting on the dream, I asked myself if Ameachi was contesting for an election maybe for Senate, since then, he was on his last term as Governor. When he was subsequently appointed as DG, Buhari Campaign Organization, I was therefore convinced, and that showed clearly what the dream was all about. I kept it to myself.
Last night, I dreamed a confusing dream again. In the dream, I was invited for a gathering of Young People of Nigeria in Lagos but no reason was given for the gathering except that young people are gathering for a feast. When I got to the venue, I saw a large crowd of young people, dinning and winning and they were so happy. Something seemed strange because I saw Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on one of the tables eating with them. I, then, asked someone why they were eating and laughing he refused to respond to my question. I left them and went to stand in an isolated place still within the venue.
After a few minutes, I threatened to leave the place and would not eat with them if they didn't tell me what was going on. Then one of the young people now said to me "wait! someone would like to meet with you". I said okay. Atiku then stood up and, so many people followed him, came straight to me and stretched out his hands, shook me and said " I am Atiku Abubakar" and immediately the crowd roared, "We have made it... the young people of Nigeria have made.. he is our President... this is the new President..."
I was so confused and immediately left the venue to go listen to news at home or ask people outside the venue if what happened there was indeed true. As I was getting home, I saw a convoy of US and French Presidents. One of the convoy stopped by, one middle age white guy came out from one of the vehicles under heavy security and said to me "I am the French President. kindly join us for a party in Lagos". Apparently, they were invited too for the same feast. I looked at myself, found the clothe I was wearing not worthy to go with someone of that nature. And I said to him that I am highly delighted and humble by such recognition and invitation that he should kindly give me a few minutes to dress well and follow him. He said no problem. I hurriedly left, got home, dressed well but unfortunately when I went back to the place I met him, I didn't see them again. I was told they had all left for the party. I was very angry and immediately, I woke up from sleep. This is the whole truth

A personal Opinion from a Concern Citizen GOVERNMENT.
“NIGERIA AND IT’S PECULIAR TIMES”
“PVC = Pack your Vexation to Court”.
I watched with amazement the just concluded Election(s) in Osun State, how democracy was eroded.
It was termed OsunDecides, but actually it was @INECDecides!!
This election must have come and gone. But do I feel worry or sad about the Gladiators from either side, the answer is No.
My worry is on the Youth(s) of this great nation Nigeria, and I’m forced to ask who has bewitched us?
Why do we keep doing the same thing every now and then and expect a different result?
I was privileged to see some videos of the just concluded Osun election, all I saw were young people been used as political thugs, and I ask? How can you be remembered only during elections?
Before the supplementary/Rerun, we saw the pictures of different political parties meetings, in air conditioned magnificent building where decisions were made. And I ask, how many of those people were out there on the field to cast, protect and defend their votes? I leave u to answer.
This same people will occupy the same government house and continue the decision making that will impact your life and that of your children.
Try accessing them after election to seek for employment or contract, if you are privileged to gain access - they will be quick to inform you of your lack of experience - or better still inform you of no immediate opportunity. But during elections, they seek you because you have experience in risking your life - what an abnormality. Now that you have risked your life in exchange for peanuts, what are you expecting in return. Primary healthcare Quality Road School Electricity Employments Pension and Workers Salaries payment Etc. I will allow you to answer!! Who did this to our Youths
I ask again - the money u received - can it fetch you a better life - take you off the street - enough for your up-keep for life - or buy you a good house? I will allow you to ponder, then answer it urself again.
My dear Youth, what will u tell ur children when they ask you about ur contributions and role to this great nation? The seed we have helped to sow will surely grow, I hope we are already to harvest it?
Youths let us all unite - let us fight for Democracy - for a New Nigeria - a decentralized Nigeria that will give us(Youths) a chance to work - our children the future they deserve and old age Security.
@INEC Sincerely u broke my heart, not because u didn’t declare the results accurately, but because u have subjected over 4million citizens into another 4yrs of suffering. It’s sad u didn’t consider the rate of infant mortality your actions will cause. How many Pensioners will die or fall sick because of lack of salary and quality healthcare. I’m pained because you have left the Osun people powerless in holding this incoming government Accountable. You have not just succeeded in throwing this state into pain but u have succeeded in assuring the electorates that power doesn’t belong to them. You and I know fully well that any election won through this means will only have negative impacts on the people.
I know that my writing is reaching thousands throughout Nigeria- and millions of despairing men, women, and little children especially in Osun- victims of a system that makes them torture and disrespect their rights.
It’s true that most of the officials that were involved in this election, are well to do so they don’t feel the heat.
Trust me the seed you have planted today might not grow immediately but with time it will. I promise you that Our God is a record keeper.
My people use to say that those who live in Glass house shouldn’t throw stones.
What you have planted in Osun will surely be reaped someday because the Bible says and I quote: The Lord...visits the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation. (Exodus 34:6-7 = Deuteronomy 5:8-10).
Those who have been subjected to pains and sorrow, one thing I know is that Justice delayed is not denied. Because dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people. And so long as men die, liberty will never perish. …..
@SecurityAgency I’m happy, we the ordinary citizen and yourself live in the same environment and also use the same basic amenities. Sometimes I’m taken aback why you act in the manner you do.
Security Agents stop giving yourselves to these Politicians- people who use you - enslave you- tell you what to do - what to think - how to act - yet abandon you - Please stop fighting for slavery! Fight for for a New Nigeria and human rights!!
But like Martin Luther King Jr. said and I quote: I have seen the promise land and we as a people will surely get there. 1 Like 1 Share |
