I'm 90% done shopping, hopefully to round up 1st week in April after doing the next scan, that is if my LO decided to pity me and let me catch a glimpse of his or her genitals. Four scan done already but the sex not visible, my LO is the master of hide and seek game.

I posted on this forum few days ago asking if anyone has had an induction done before, the doctor recommended induction because my baby was post dated and her weight was skyrocketing.

I was supposed to be induced by 12 midnight yesterday but contraction spontaneously started at 2pm surprisingly, I didn’t even know it was contractions until I got to the hospital at 3 pm to be admitted for the induction

The doctor checked me and we were all shocked when he said I was 2cm dilated, before 7pm, I was 6cm. I gave birth to my baby girl at some minutes to 12 midnight naturally without induction

To be honest, I have read a lot about labour pains and how extreme it could get but surprisingly it wasn’t as painful as people make it seem . I know we have different bodies but if you make up your mind, it is not unbearable. When the contractions came, I just took deep breathes like I had practiced online and my husband helped me with massaging of my back. that was all.

I wasn’t given any painkillers at the hospital, I wanted to go for epidural Earlier but they said we have to book for it beforehand and we didn’t want to wait and I am glad we didn’t pay for that as it wouldn’t even have been needed.

Infact I can say, when it was time to have my Baby, time to push the baby out, what I felt was intense pressure to push and not pain

It was during the dilation I felt pain but it wasn’t even half as painful as I have read, breathing techniques I read online really helped as most of the time I kept breathing hard instead of screaming.

So expectant mothers, don’t be scared, if you prepare up your mind and you know it’s just for a while, you would be Very fine, not everything we read about labour pains are true as some people cannot even manage pain at all and make it seem like it was hell for them.

I'm back. After a loooooong hiatus. Alas, I bear no good news. I lost my would-be rainbow baby after an extremely painful and prolonged labor yesterday. Worse, I was induced because I started bleeding all of a sudden at 35weeks, only to be told after scan at the hospital that the baby's heart had stopped beating. Shrugs. Now I'm trying to cope with the loss. Hubby cried like someone who'd lost the whole world. Me, I'm still numb. Distracted. Mostly on autopilot. I'll recover, I know. Eventually.
For now, I just want to sleep. And mourn in peace.

I was angry when i read this. Seriously why induction and prolonged labour when they could have checked the state of the baby first and then move for emergency CS. Some of these doctors dont have empathy at all. Do they even know what it is to bear pregnancy for 35 weeks to gamble with someone's baby as they please? Im so vexed. Honestly.

Every pregnancy mum and their lo here are protected by God almighty. There sha be no loss and no evil report. Afflictions will not arise again. We will not cast our youngs in Jesus name. Amen

Please mamas i need help. Anytime i sleep by my side i wake up to severe back pain. And that is the best position to sleep. What can i do pls

Try using pillow to wedge you tummy so the weight doesn't pull entire downward. You an also put at you back.

DOB: 6th March.
She weighed 2.9kg at birth.

One wrote 4, the other wrote 6. I wonder what it's for

Why not ask the nurses when next you go for antenatal?

the small Oga/madam just dey dust everything comot from body. Sorry it will be over soon. Maybe discuss with your doctor on your next appointment.

I woke up rushed to bathroom but can’t vomit everything hang in my throat and chest, cracker and cold water helped a bit, the food I am eating now is bland but everyone seem to enjoy the food! Thank God I dnt feel weak today

Pls I need advice, my mother Inlaw is forcing me to take herbal medicine for 6weeks pregnancy to prevent miscarriage because they said my stomach is hot. I’m so scared to take it, pls has anyone experience it?

I dont understand hot stomach sha but was it at the hospital you were diagnosed? If yes, what remedy or treatment did they recommend? If no, whoever told you so- how did the person know your stomach is hot?

One has to be careful of self medication especially those herbal concoctions that can cure all diseases o.

37 week baby is considered full term.

Try oza room activities, eating dates, climbing stairs, pineapple, zobo drinks. These and more i have read here can aid contractions. But the thing is if LO isn't ready, he will just be doing odeishi

I am also in this shoe. Each scan that I have done has revealed different EDD , from 14th April , 17th April , 27th April and now 1st May. I will just start preparing from second week of April. I am a FTM too....

Wow! The date are even going farther. Me im jejely going by my LMP and counting weeks and also speaking to my baby. What matters most is a healthy baby and mum las las. It is well ma. Try eating and resting well.

Mama, I think you shouldn't worry much about the scan, to me scan could be a scam at the end of the day.
Work by your LMP and eat healthy.

Many at times, people will give birth and realized the baby's weight is different from scan result. Gender nko? Same thing.
The major reason for scan( to me o) is to know if everything is fine in there.
By God's grace we are highly favored in this journey. Amen

In all my hospital visits, Docs keep saying thesame thing that my tummy is big (from the fundal height measurement) and whenever i do scan, my EDD changes. I've done 4 scans already, all came out with their own EDD coming closer. From 5th May to 30th April, to 25th April and now 16th April. At this rate i should not go and enter march .

On my last visit, scan showed my LO to be 2 weeks ahead. (I was 29wk3d scan showed 31wk4d) and LO measured 1.8kg(which i think is big).

Biko help a sister and a Ftm, what could be causing it? Is there something i can do?

Please I never experienced leg pain in my previous pregnancy. Im 28 weeks plus and it seems in few weeks time I wont b able to walk properly. From my pelvic down to my toes...all my lower limbs aches as if they put mountain on it. This pelvic pain too is just so much..I had to hold on to something to balance before I walk. Infact my vagina aches I had to put cold compressor on it. One good thing though, my heartburn reduced surprisingly immediately I entered 3rd trimester. Because my heartburn is usually throughout my whole 9 months right from day 1. This dull aches is seriously worrying me.. and all I do whole day is sleep and sit nothing again.

So sorry mama. But sleeping and sitting so much as you've said are not really helpful. Try and get busy and active.
