Mamabigboy: Dear good mothers, Good evening. I believe we are all doing fine. kindly help me chook mouth in this report abeg. I am 6 weeks pregnant (Last menstrual period - 6th December). I had a scan done today, though I know it is a bit early, I can't be blamed as I had been TTC since 2017, you can imagine the excitement. To cut long story short, the scan report states thus; Cavity contains a gestational sac corresponding to 4 weeks cyesis. No fetal pole seen yet. Suggest: Repeat scan in 2-3 weeks to reassess fetal viability.
Honestly, 2-3 weeks seems like an eternity. Has anyone gone through something similar, I need hope, I just need hope Congratulations mama. Sometimes the experience of the sonographer and the machine place a big role in scan results. When i did my scan at 8 weeks, just like yours, there was viable cyesis but no fetal pole. I was worried being that my previous pregnancy which i lost showed non-viable and no fetal pole. but as far as there was a viable cyesis, i calmed myself. It will be 2 weeks soon. Worrying too much is not even good for you.So, dont be worried. Keep speaking positivity to yourself and LO. |

Krystalluv: Good morning mamas, I had a miscarriage two days ago at 11 weeks+
Nobody ever says miscarriage pain is so painful, and then the evacuation, the worst pain I've ever had in my life.
Please I have some questions to ask:
1. Why can't doctors have a reason for a miscarriage? 2. How soon is healthy to start trying for another baby? (even though DH says we should hold on for a year to recover from the trauma of the miscarriage, but I can't wait that long) 3. What is the likelihood of another miscarriage after a miscarriage? (Cos I'm so scared, as it's not a good experience)
Please help a supposed FTM..
Mother-in-law has finished me with hot water oo Its indeed a painful experience. God will give you and your DH the strength to bear the loss. Doctors usually investigate why spontaneous miscarriages happen so it can be avoided in subsequent pregnancies but missed miscarriages are difficult to pin point. You can start trying again as soon as you're ready mentally, psychologically, emotionally and physically. I took in 5 months after my evacuation. Be strong sister. |

Cutiemama: passing TRW the same things right now all my scan from week 10 reads two weeks ahead and my doctors and nurses always complain saying my bump is bigger than my lmp and if I was sure of my LMP ...well I have decided to stick to scan dates cos as it is I am already tired of the wadling ... the nurse actually asked if I was sure I HV not passed my due date in my last antenatal visit after she used that her tape to measure my tummy ...in just told her no I have not even gotten to it may God grant us safe delivery Amen. She also asked if i was sure of my lmp and if it could be fibroid. I told her of course i was sure of my lmp and i definitely dont have fibroid as ive done 3 scans already and 2 in my previous pregnancy (which i lost). As far as my baby is doing well, im not worried. God will see us through to the finish line. Amen |

africaflozy: Sorry teamie, I used to experience it before so I think it's normal. As suggested talk to your doctor. I was told at the hospital that its normal. The pain seem to have gone sef. My concern now is that the doc said my tummy's measurement is much bigger than my baby's age when its just 1 baby. Same thing the previous doctor i met said. Has anyone experienced same? What could be the reason? |

Briells: BS! BS!! BS!!!
Please Ignore any typographical or grammatical errors o, thank you.
I got pregnant in January, it was a very easy one no MS, appetite was cool and all, as a FTM I guess I didn't know I was supposed to be a bit more careful as the pregnancy was still in the early stage, I kept going full throttle, my job is a stressful one and I kept doing it head on! Long story short, we were doing rearrangement in the office in March, and I decided to join in lifting a big table, I felt pain instantly, started feeling period cramps, bleeding started the next day and I lost the pregnancy . It was depressing, painful, I felt I had failed my child, couldn't stop crying, lost interest in my job and all.
Fast forward to April, I didn't see my period, I thought sth was wrong, my husband said I didn't drink uda peppersoup and all after the MC, and so my uterus wasn't properly flushed, I kept feeling bites in my lower stomach, my husband went out to buy the peppersoup items for the womb flushing, I told him to buy test strip for me to check if it could be pregnancy, low and behold it was two strong lines.
First trimester came with the worst package ever, I couldn't eat, drink, couldn't even brush my teeth without throwing up. The only thing my body accepted was hollandia plain yoghurt, so I kept on taking that to keep me going, while also taking my prenatals. I lost weight drastically - about 10kg. I felt so dizzy when moving about - like I would collapse, the stomach pain was actually very bad at some point and I decided to go for a private scan to find out if all is well - the scan result said the pregnancy wasn't viable and it was a missed abortion. The scan also detected fibroid. I came home and cried my heart out, told my mum about it and she suggested I get a second opinion. I went to another scan centre, low and behold my baby girl was jejely resting and I heard her heartbeat. When I got to the 3 month mark, registered for antenatal at general hospital.
Second trimester came and there was very little improvement in my health, I was still throwing up, my body then grew to accepting rice - every other thing must be vomited, so I ate all kinds of rice (lol). I then decided to register for antenatal in a private hospital for more personalised care, as everyone was worried about my situation. The private hospital ran my blood and all and then called to give me a bad report - that the pregnancy wouldn't be sustainable because my blood level was extremely low, I should come and discuss my options with them - I refused going back there. I went for a scan, was told that baby was growing fine, I became more confident. I started doing stuffs to boost my blood and the blood vehemently refused to be boosted so I accepted my fate
Third trimester was the easiest for me, at a point I became scared when I read what other mom's were passing through, and I was feeling none of that. No pelvic pain, no constipation, no waddling, only thing was that I was always fatigued. My appetite improved too so I tried to make up for lost times. I wasn't feeling any sign of labour and I was so worried, hospital scheduled me for induction on Monday morning, the 28th of December as I had passed my EDD. I went to the hospital that morning and was told to come back the next day - Tuesday as Monday was Public holiday. I didn't know my baby girl didn't want anyone to stress her with inducement, she wanted to come by herself .
Labour started that same Monday afternoon, around 3pm, I was pre advised by my seniors in the game not to rush to the hospital so they won't be chooking hand in my vagina anyhow (lol), so I decided to time the contractions and do light movements. Eventually went to the hospital around 8pm, was 3cm when checked, baby came out around 2am shouting so loudly, and I was given a tear and stitched. Motherhood is a wonderful experience, I pray every expectant and TTC mother's be blessed with this experience.
@cappo sunbestie, BS submitted #TeamDecember signing out Congratulations mama. Thank God for everything. Its very good to get second opinion because some of these guys can frustrate person. |

LeProfessor: Today was a very scary day, my wife called me that she was bleeding and I rushed home, after calling the doctor they told us not to worry and monitor the bleeding, but after trying to conceive for 7 years and 1 miscarriage there's no way you can't not worry, we went to the hospital and insisted on a scan and for the first time ever I saw my babies move, not just a heart beat (we are in week 12), I almost cried when I left the hospital thinking about it. The doctor said we would be fine, they explained it is most likely two of the four eggs transferred that didn't implant that caused the bleeding, and we should stop taking one of our medications.
#DiaryOfAPregnantHusband Oh God be praised. |

sunbestie: BS! BS! BS!
My pregnancy journey started on March 18th 2020 after seeing my first menses since I put to bed on May 2019.... It was not planned. I and dh was enjoying every every and voom d next month I tested positive.. I had a mixed feeling about it sha.. I don't knw if am happy or sad but las las I was so excited that another baby is coming without stress of trying to conceive.
The first trimesters was not easy for me... From vomiting, spitting, heart burn, loose of appetite, weight loss, infection, a little contraction that stoped after bed rest and all d wahala but we scaled through it all.
Second trimesters was so sweet and full of shakara for me.. I was slaying back to back oo no dulling my appetite was getting stronger everyday, gradually I stopped spitting and back to my normal self.. Not forgetting d oza room matterDH was enjoying every moment of it and we love it (world people) lolz.
Third trimesters was not easy for me.. From heartburn, bleeding gums, pelvic bone pains, my skin was getting dark, v.g area tripped in size and heaviness down there no be small one ooo. I was having contraction at 8 months and was place on bed rest so that I can enter 9 months fully and also baby can bake well too. Foodie was my second name... I was eating like a hungry lion and my tummy was so massive that people were thinking am carrying twins.. I weighed only 64kg ooo. I started my exercises, staircase climbing, dancing, taking a long distance walk, eating pineapples and dates and drinking zobo as well to help induce labor natural. My blood level was 33 as at last checked and no issues with that. V. E done on 11th Dec showed 2cm dilated but cervix is closed, doctor wanted to admit me but I no gree oo. Last scan said baby weighed 2.9kg and I was so happy about that I don't want a big baby that will result to giving me tear. I was praying and speaking positively to my baby and my body. I wanted a fast labor and sharp sharp delivery and God did it for me.
Delivery Day!!! I went to antenatal on Monday 21st December 2020 and after palpation I told the midwife that I was having contractions especially at night which will stop in the morning and slippery mucus/ discharge that has been coming out for d past one week especially in d morning too. She requested that V.E be done. I want to maternity ward and was checked and 3cm dilated but d contraction is not strong..I was ask to go and get my bag immediately that I am not going back home..I was happy oo and told them to allow me go home and get my bags and arrange some things too. I left d hospital and went straight to my church (chapel) and prayed about it and went back home to do d needful..with all this I was not having any pains oo.. I really waka that day. Off I went back to d hospital with my bags and I was checked again 6cm dilated... See me rejoicing I was walking around d room and praying too.. D contractions was coming and I decided to take a hot bath. After the bath d contraction was kind of slow and I was scared oo but I kept faith alive. I went and lay down to know what is going on and I can't feel it coming again.. Haa! I went and start climbing their staircase sharply ooo and speaking to my body too. I climbed oo until I was tired and I went back to my room and lay down and d contraction started coming again with a very strong urge to poo... I went to d toilet and poo and went back to my bed.. D contractions was coming back to back and am getting weak and shivering due to enduring of d pains. ( it was much on me) I was ask to be drinking glucose water to give me strength. I was still laying on my bed and my baby broke his water and d nurses had to rush me to delivery room to know how far gone. She was still wearing gloves and d urge to push came my baby was pushing and coming out on his own oo I was calling them to do fast and d are telling me madam don't push oo just open your mouth and breath inmogbe!! nurse but I was breathing in nah and my baby is pushing me oo I can't hold it oo d quickly wore their overall and I was ask to push..Na there drama started oo lol I pushed d first one and the midwife said madam stop pushing like a ftm nah do it like a pro ( me looking at her like a pro) who your pro help!! With d next contraction I screamed and push out my baby.. He was screaming his lung out immediately he came out at 11:55pm weighing 3.29kg without tear ( is God not wonderful) Placenta was birthed after some mins and I was cleaned up and taken to my room. This boy started crying that night for breast milk and I was forced to breastfeed him.. Foodie from belle. We were discharged in d morning.
So grateful to God Almighty for answering my prayers and granting my request upon my team members for a super safe delivery for us all. Thanks to all mamas on this forum who in one way or the other made our pregnancy journey look so easy and beautiful with their words and prayers.. God bless us all. To our precious little ones you all will grow to make mummy and daddy proud..amen.
