What exactly is the problem.......... 😝

Indomie diet in the oza room........... 🤣😜

If it's what I am thinking....... If you intend to kill another man's daughter...... Exercise regularly, avoid excessively sweet things, avoid eba, pounded yam, Amala, fufu, rice, lafun etc etc

Don't eat too late........ With all this and more, you must build bungalow on top..... 🤣

If you're diabetic or hypertensive........ Our GP's would happily prescribe you aids like viagra, sildenafil etc etc.......
Oga mii forget matter for Mathias jare. If you get plug for here, connect me. Or better still, if you know whether agbo is not prohibited, please let me know. Thanks

The point is that we're all Nigerians and would all bear the brunt of the stereotype when it does stick. There is no superior Nigerian, home or abroad.
The "fantastically corrupt" tag is still on us today. So you people should keep fanning the narrative, instead of dealing with issues separately.

LagosismyHome:
Action doesn't hide ooo..... The indians who people praise, it not even them singing their praise but you can visible see it and it others that praise it . They go about lifting and you can see them growing and pushing others out

If majorities of Nigerians were doing it, no matter the smelling narrative, it would easily be disproven

I don't know about evil but a lot of our people no dey try .... some but a lot don't. Maybe if we keep pricking our conscience by saying how it is then maybe we can change to do better . Kudos to you and all who do amazing things .

I wonder when you people would get tired of this trope that "Nigerians are evil, and don't help each other"
It's a smelling narrative abeg. You people bring it up every 2 market days and it's tiring. On this same thread, we've seen people literally go out of their ways and come through for complete faceless strangers. Me personally, I've seen Nigerians do amazing things for people, sometimes complete strangers. Some of us have as well done wonderful things to help others, but here you are repeating the same narrative everyday. There are good and bad people everywhere, Nigeria and India alike. Indians and other people also do horrible things abeg.
You people will keep championing this narrative until it becomes a stereotype that the world would use to define Nigerians, and when that happens, its still you people that will scream rAcIsM

Thank you jare. Finally settled for Kenya airways embarassed flight fares aren't smiling this period.

Tinyemeka:
You could also consider EgyptAir (slightly similar if not lower cost rates), since they provide hotels for long-layover passengers.

I trawled some forums for experiences of other travellers who had long layovers at Doha and their feedback wasn't too good.

Qatar airport has paid access lounges.
You can pay for Al maha lounge or Oryx lounge online to enjoy 6 hours stay which comes with food, drinks, bathroom services, peace, quiet etcetera. In naira, this is about 32-40k for the 6 hours. In pounds about 45-55 pounds.
The lounges are after security.
This has to be paid before your travel. If you pay when you get to the lounge the price increases.

Thank you!
Solumtoya:
Why not just explore the airport? smiley Then find one corner and sleep afterwards or gist if you're not alone. I think layovers less than 8 hours can be endured especially if it's your first time in the airport and you don't have money for direct flights. Not easy if you're alone sha but what can one do?

Hi everyone

Who knows if Qatar Air makes any provision for their long layover in Doha? Would they give hotel abi someone has to sleep in the airport?

Thank you.

Thanks, I am just not sure if I can get professional job with that category of visa?
Truth is there are no hard and fast rules with recruitment. No guarantees, but I believe it's a numbers game for the most part. Keep applying to as many jobs as you come across. And since accounting is your profession, there are tons of opportunities. I'm guessing you're ICAN chartered, you can consider getting ACCA instead of ICAEW as that would most likely involve more examination and time and money.

[quote author=grandma123 post=115570294]Hello my people, please I need your input on my situation.

I have completed my Master and need to move forward in the UK, I have 2 options to choose from which is dicey and I am in a serious Dilemma now. I am in my mid 40s and a mother, a qualified Chartered Accountant (over 15 years post qualification experience) back home and presently working on becoming a member of ICAEW here in the UK. I have been applying for professional roles on different job sites for a while now to no avail. Though I do get calls from recruiters concerning roles but sometimes because of the student visa status they may not proceed and sometimes you would not here back from them.

The two options I have to choose from are:

1, To apply for a PSW and continue my job search
2, The care work I do (to pay bills and make ends meet, not actually what I want) is ready to sponsor me (at no cost except UK gov application fee) but honestly the care job is not meant for me as I get irritated, tired of the job and I know I deserve more and can do better for myself.

Life requires pragmatism. We don't get what we want at every point in time.
If the sponsorship isn't tied to you staying 3 years, take it and continue job hunting for the roles you desire.

[quote author=Zeekaycn post=114707129]Dear Nairalanders!
I need info on this matter that's troubling me now. 2months ago my Fiance applied for a visa to stay in the UK, through the help of her far relative that stays there and the visa had been approved. The issue now is we have struggled to raise the money and up till now not yet completed. Funny thing is, this guy is saying now that he doesn't have any place to accommodate my fiance.

To be honest with you there's not much you can do to hold it, not like you want to pay the month's rent without actually staying? Except move in date is stated as a months time. Been on the accommodation drama myself, E no easy o.....
It's advisable you visit the property yourself to view what you're getting yourself into, pictures are deceptive(if you can get someone to do that on your behalf, it's fine.....but no landlord or agency will rent out any property without any background or credit check)
Thank you.

Hi everyone. Thank you for sharing valuable experiences so far.
I'm due to arrive the UK next month, however I saw a nice apartment on Openrent that I'm interested in. Is there anyway I can lock that apartment even before I arrive?
Tips would be appreciated
