Foreign AffairsGambian President Warns Homosexuals To Stay Away From The Country. by dwkoko(op): 5:12am On Apr 05, 2013
Gambian president, Yahya Jammeh, has warned that any gay or lesbians found in the country will "regret" being born.

During a speech on March 28th at the opening of the country's parliament, President Jammeh said:

Homosexuality is anti-humanity. I have never seen homosexual chicken, or turkey. If you are convicted of homosexuality in this country, there will be no mercy for offenders.

Homosexuality is anti-god, anti-human, and anti-civilization. Homosexuals are not welcome in the Gambia.

If we catch you, you will regret why you are born. I have buffalos from South Africa and Brazil and they never date each other.

We are ready to eat grass but we will not compromise on this. Allowing homosexuality means allowing satanic rights. We will not allow gays here.

FamilyGod Has Silenced Our Enemies - Mercy Johnson's Mum by dwkoko(op): 1:30pm On Apr 03, 2013
Just as family and friends await the arrival of Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson and her new born child, Purity, her mother says her God silenced enemies that never thought her daughter would marry her heart desire, Prince Odi Okojie.

In an interview with Nollywood Insider, Mercy's mum said:

"God has finally silenced our enemies. Those who thought my daughter would not marry Odi have failed, thanks to the almighty God that I serve. They tried but could not prevail over what God has destined. We are going to welcome them in a big way. As you can see, we have started preparation to receive them. Things are been bought.

The Aso Ebi will be bought soon and when they come, they will choose the pattern they prefer. Purity is my 14th grandchild. She will be taken to Uromi before coming to Lagos then I will be ready to take care of my baby. I was to go to USA with them, but I could not since my husband was not well then. But now, all is well."

She also hinted there might be two naming or dedication ceremonies for baby Purity.

According to her,

"I might not be able to travel that long distance. If that will be, then there may be a thanksgiving or our own naming ceremony here.

What stops us to having two ceremonies for such a celebrated child, as Purity?"

EducationFg Scraps Utme, Neco, Napep, Others by dwkoko(op): 7:45am On Apr 03, 2013
Indications emerged last night that the Federal Government may have resolved to scrap some of its agencies in line with the recommendations of the Steve Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee on the Rationalization and Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals, Commissions and Agencies following the completion of study of its White Paper Committee report. Among those scrapped are Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UMTE), National Examination Council (NECO), Public Complaints Commission, National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) and the Fiscal Mobilization and Allocation Commission among others.

The Oronsaye committee had recommended the abolition of 38 agencies, the merger of 52 and the reversion of 14 to departments in the ministries from which they were carved out, a move the committee argued would save the government more than N862 billion between 2012 and 2015 should its proposal be adopted. A reliable government source confirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo and selected senior aides of the president met twice and eventually took decisions, which included the scrapping of some agencies and merging of others.

Another source revealed that the with the scrapping of the UTME, individual universities in the country would conduct their own admission examinations and admit students while the Joint Matriculation and Examination Board will set and ensure compliance to standards as it acts as the clearing house. The source said JAMB would be modeled along the line of Universities and Colleges Admission Service (UCAS), the central organization through which applications are processed for entry to higher education in the United Kingdom.

According to the source, "individual university will do their own examination and admission. If you want to apply to a university, you do so but in order not to have a situation where one person gets multiple admission, JAMB acts as a clearing house to free up spaces. All the universities are free now to admit students." Even though details were still being worked out, it was learnt that government's decision, was informed by the need to promote merit in admission into the nation's universities because "the idea is to ensure that the best students go to the best universities."

The source further disclosed that the president had also approved that the West African Examination Council (WAEC) is now expected to take over the functions and vast infrastructure of NECO, which now ceases to exist. The sources confirmed that WAEC would now conduct two external examinations in a year, January and November. The Public Complaints Commission is to be merged with the Human Rights Commission, just as NAPEP would also be scrapped and replaced National Agency for Job Creation and Empowerment.

PoliticsFG Approves N16,000 Monthly Allowance For Unemployed Nigerian Graduates. by dwkoko(op): 7:24am On Apr 01, 2013
A few weeks after the Senate and the House of Reps kicked out a bill seeking to enable jobless graduates in the country receive a N15,000 monthly allowance credible reports have it that the Goodluck Jonathan led Federal Government has decided to pay unemployed graduates in the country a N16,000 monthly allowance. The allowance it is understood will be paid to all regular graduates of accredited Nigerian universities till they secure a job or attain the age of 30 years.

Senator Anyim Udeh had earlier sponsored a bill entitled “An Act to provide social security for unemployed graduates and aged in Nigeria,” and proposed a budget of N12.7 billion for the scheme.

The Senator in arguing his case had said: “The social security Bill is in compliance with section 14 of the 1999 Constitution. It is more so, because over 70 per cent of our people live below poverty level. Creating the social security scheme in which unemployed graduates and the aged will have minimum wage to live on will help tackle the problem of poverty.”

Though the bill failed to scale through reports from Presidential sources say the President has already approved the budget for the Social Scheme for Unemployed Graduates and the first payouts will commence in 2014. It is expected that the decision will be ratified next tomorrow at the weekly Executive Council Meeting and a bill sent from the Presidency to the Senate for the creation of an agency under the joint supervision of the Ministry of Youths and the Education Ministry to coordinate the vetting and payment disbursement process.

Some anonymous sources from the opposition say the President may be using this as a way to get the younger and more numerous voters to his side as countdown to 2015 begins.

Whatever may be the case the country’s millions of unemployed graduates will certainly be hoping to see this come to fruition.

To ensure the scheme starts hitch free the Ministry of Education has released guidelines on registration of Unemployed graduates to benefit from the monthly allowance.

TV/MoviesNollywood Releases Another Soft Porn Movie Titled "Bold 5 Babes" by dwkoko(op): 9:03pm On Mar 31, 2013
Nollywood has released yet another soft porn titled "Bold 5 babes".

We remember the one which involved Tonto Dikeh, Jim Iyke and a Ghanaian actress. Just last week, another was released featuring Tony Umez and Chinelo in "Room 027" and now this.
Reading through the viewers comments and reviews, it is clear that Nigerians despise these soft porns.
But how come these supposed porn producers still remain in business? This means they still have people who patronize them despite all the criticism. It's surprising how girls with short dresses are utterly disgraced in public, yet buyers are encouraging soft porn.
Gone are those days, when even the kissing part of Nollywood movies were faked. Now, we hide under civilization and globalization which seems to have encouraged nudity in Nigeria.
We would really like to hear what you think about this new trend in Nollywood. Are Nigerians ready to embrace nudity?
