At no point have I justified it. I have tried to point out how things could have gotten to that stage and what path it took.

From other social media accounts of the story someone said her 3 kids were in Naija with the husband and he threatened that she would never see them again, if she didn't include him in the travel/relocation plans.

The threat of not seeing her kids again was hanging over head like any good/responsible mother she gave into the threat for the sake of her kids. The narrator said she was also a nurse in Naija and she single handedly sponsored herself to UK before all of this drama.

I have been appalled by the comments of many male users here who have condemned and blamed the dead woman without knowing the full story. Even when presented with the facts on this thread one guy persisted in his foolishness.

There's a deep seated hate and darkness in most men on this forum that I can't wrap my head around, they are usually gleeful and malicious at the tragedy of others even without knowing them personally. How is someone who is gainfully employed being ‘treated as a houseboy’? Is it when you’re at work, doing your 9-5?

99% of the time when someone argues with this ‘houseboy’ line, the man is a layabout doing nothing while the woman is hardworking.

If you’re not the breadwinner in the house, you’re the partner with way more free time and you’re overseas where getting a maid or nanny is prohibitively expensive…the common sense thing is to pick up as much of the house chores as possible.

If your wife works 12 hour shifts as a Nurse or care worker and you’re not working at all, why will you not take care of some stuff at home if you’re not a clown?

The answer to the question you asked is simple, the wife is seen as maid by many. That's the mindset and the norm in Nigeria. In as much as it's good for a woman to be homely, marriage is supposed to be a partnership in which each partner provide support for one another.

These kind of horrible issues will happen, with the innocent children suffering, unless a proper discussion is allowed to be held and both sides of the story is examined as to how things got to that stage.

A man that has three children with his wife, who has no criminal record, has been married for a while, suddenly turns evil bashing her head over and over again with a skateboard and we are supposed to just accept he is epitome of evil and move on.
