joseph1832: Perhaps you misunderstood him. If I remember correctly, you too was issued a ban in the last Miss Nairaland contest, reasons giving was that you insulted a mod. You can see that you and him are on the same page.
And just so you know. If you want to validate this contest and make it free and fair, and different from the others, then you shouldn't just make the contest "majority carry the vote". There should be reward for excellence and intelligence because bro let's face, many of this girls here are outrightly dumb. Whoever emerged miss Nairaland should not just be because the person has the biggest votes, It should be because the person has brains!!!.
Also I would even want you to state in categorically that any moniker that is created from Jan 1 to this very day isn't eligible to vote, why? Because we know many people have the habit of creating monikers just for this contest, even a moniker here said it openly that whoever he supports always wins!. You'll wonder who made him God or Lord Temple that he has such audacity to make such proclamation if not that he has many moniker at his disposal.
So bro, the ball is in your court!!. I'm glad you remember the emboldened. I'm just confused why people confuse being an Organizer/Judge of The Miss Nairaland Contest with being being a Moderator of this forum. If anybody gets banned on the any of the contest threads, its not my doing or any of the judges' so cut us some slack and mail the mods appropriately. We have a lot on our plate than all these unnecessary assertions and accusations. We all of the time DO NOT have any hand in the banning of monikers except extremely necessary and in this case, Thesonofmark was unable to get us to make that move. I didn't even click on the report button. Nice point @the rule suggestion. That's also something we're working on. Every username have the freedom right now but once voting starts, conditions for Invalidating of votes will be posted. And about brains, we could have incorporated a test of their brains and intelligence but no matter who we invite to judge, there's a 99% chance that those judges would be accused of bias or incompetence or both. See what we're being labeled as before the contest, imagine what might happen when the table starts turning for and against the contestants. Lupey and Miracy won due to no factor other than the questions and answers in the finals so we're sticking to that. Strictly votes and then questions and answers in the finals. . Thank you. |

KcMark: THESONOFMARK STILL REMAINS UNFAZED .
MARVELOUS0000/CYPRUS0000: Just like I tell people, like yourself, who are amazed(?) by my , well, non-stereotypic command of the Anglo lingua, I invested in myself. It's called 'SELF-DEVELOPMENT'. While you spent you childhood and early teenage years bathing yourself with mud and chasing flies, people like myself, fuelled by bibliophilia and curiosity, kept perusing lexicographs and other documents of knowledge...and now that invested time is paying off. Ironically, someone here asked me to post a VN (to prove this)...and I did. Wole Soyinka and Obasanjo both attended Baptist Boys' High School but they turned out differently, literary-wise. You know why? One chose to develop himself. Learning something, aren't you? Keep whining about my superior command of the English language over yours while I continually floor ýou in any e-duel with my typo-eloquence. While at it work on your spellings though...and the hogwash you spelt out in your signature display . No need to thank me; if I don't school you, who will?
JOSEPH1832, MALONEPHILL, RONALD4LIF, DHARAY99, MIZMYCOLI, RAPLAWD, KRADLEBER; I read your comments (and saw your mention notifications). When a whistleblower proves stubborn and insists on revealing hitherto closely guarded secrets, I suppose the easiest way to stop or cease the revelation(s) is by silencing him or her, right? How convenient . Replay that scenario here.
So my THESONOFMARK moniker was banned by 10.02AM just for revealing 'things'. Just like I predicted in my second comment ON THIS THREAD that the 'judges' would get the mods to ban my account to stop my revelations, they actual did. Are you guys thinking what I am thinking? Yeah, that first thought .
Here's the thing; In their frenzied craze to 'deal' with THESONOFMARK, they proved his assertions right by attempting to stifle his free speech...and JUST FOR REVEALING THE INGRAINED CONSPIRACY. Do you play chess? There's one king...and this time you weren't the one, Dygeasy . Thanks for proving me right, dude. Welcome to my world of superior wits .
Kaycee, the¿2i thorn-in-your-hypocritic-flesh son of Mark . You think too highly of yourself. Of all things to actually concern and busy myself with, you, a Nairaland username is what I'll go about making sure they get banned? Laughable. I'm jobless enough organizing this contest but to witch-hunt you? It's not that bad. |

Their might be a conspiracy going towards this Miss NL which you yourself might not be aware of... remember there're enemies within!!!
don't just dismiss his allegations just cus you don't believe it or out of no proof...

TheSonOfMark: Screw your ban threats and wisecracks, mister. The son of Mark can never be cowered into retreating by any of those - you should know that already I have no reason to threaten you with bans or whatnot. The rules of this contest should be respected and that's all. Since you made yourself the attorney I'd direct it to YOU. If you really are as saintly as you are really trying hard to emphasize, then; By all means fire away. 1. Why haven't there been measures to curtail the laid down rules of punishing defaulting candidates? Preferential treatment for the preferred 'candidate', huh? Yes, one of them brag that's the winner already. You mean the rules I posted yesterday? Are we to stop any contestant from bragging about her possibility of winning? That's not an offense. Who's this preferred candidate you're talking about? 2. Why aren't the suppose judges neutral? Yes, we know the 'judges' (two females in particular) are (e-)friends with a particular contestant? They've never hidden the fact that that candidate is their FRIEND. Where lies the required default neutral stance(s) of the supposed umpires? As long as the judges are members of this forum, there's definitely a possibility of being friends with the contestants but trust me when I tell you the decision of anyone to contest wasn't influenced by any judge or the supposed friendship between them. Aren't familiar people supposed to judge? What's your point really? We shouldn't participate online? You people will accuse us of staying away from our tasks. I'm confused by your confusion honestly. 3.What is the basic criterion for emerging as the winner? Highest number of likes? This totally confirms your ignorance. I thought you were a part of this last year. I can choose to ignore you henceforth cos you don't know jack about this contest. 4. If this is really a BEAUTY/INTELLIGENCE contest as against a POPULARITY contest, why does the afore-stated criterion in number 3 above hold true? Bla Bla. They vote in real beauty pageants too. Can the said umpires vouch publicly that they haven't been in contact with each other and that contestant off Nairaland? No we can't. We have to be in constant contact with them for the purpose of the contest and receipt of necessary stuff. Would you rather do all the work and send them to us? You negate my assertions that this has been a premeditated conspired contest? Answer those questions or forever hold your peace and hide your tail behind your wobbly legs. You all can decide to get the mods to trail my every activity here but I am unfazed.
Let those umpires/judges deny my claims and let me reveal more or maybe get the mods to ban me in your usual cowardly manner. LET'S LET IT ALL OUT. TOO LATE TO RETREAT .Feel free to let whatever out. Cc: Ronald4lif Agarawu23 |

This is my first time of witnessing the competition and so far I have some scepticism which I prefer to inhume to myself for now. He has no reasons trust me. He's willing to start a conspiracy himself. I wonder why people like him didn't protest at the time the winner was announced last year. What exactly is the problem with these people? |

TheSonOfMark: One of the reasons I deliberately stayed away from all of the madness. Not surprised anyway, last year's was a conspiracy; this year wouldn't be any different. E-mails have been exchanged , group chats are ongoing. The 'winner' already knows herself. She already boasted about it...and SHE ISN'T BEAUTIFUL. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME FOLKS - IT'S BEEN CONCLUDED BEFORE IT EVEN BEGUN.
Get on with your cyber lives.
Doubt me? Do your research .
Proof please... The threads are still there. Emails are being exchanged between who and who? Expatiate and bring out your proofs or remain silent forever. |

ronald4lif: That number 1 rule though. I hope some mischief makers won't go about opening campaign threads with bogus accounts on their perceived adversary behalf so their votes get deducted, for their preferred contestant advantage. Some campaigners mean real business and they seem to be on every section with their ads. Valid point. The rules are there to put everyone in check. We wouldn't do anything to hurt any contestant unjustly. Keep calm. |

This is a special notice to all Contestants and Campaign Managers. Below are stated rules guiding campaigning for this year's edition of the Miss Nairaland Contest. We have just a few days to the start of the contest, can we at least just make it a healthy gearing up to and make it fun for us all? Thanks. Please read slowly and read again for total understanding and comprehension; 1. Any thread opened in Favour of any contestant will attract a deduction of 15 votes in the first round for the contestant and a lengthy ban for the poster. 2. Insulting any contestant/judge/moderator is highly prohibited. Defaulters will be banned. 3. No contestant should make demeaning/derogatory comments about others or the contest. Make sure we don't see it because if we do, 30 of such contestant's votes will be deducted. 4. All posts related to campaigns must be made on the campaign thread, defaulters risk a lengthy ban. Just make sure we don't see the Frontpage Topics spamming. You're only putting your contestants at risk. There's a place and time for everything which is why we have this thread. Kindly help us make this worthwhile for all of us and adhere strictly to these rules. To avoid confusion and mischief, Campaign Managers should forward a mail to mrdygeasy@gmail.com. Let's know who's who. Thanks. Hope you all are having a good evening.
