And Edo state population is slightly less than Anambra.

Both in. Population and Landmass, SE is suppose to be 2 or 3 states maximum. They don't even deserve 5 states.

It does not work like that. The 5 states are actually among the tiniest states in Nigeria. Population and economics, they are smaller than majority of the other regions. Going by your logic, should SW have 10 states? Akoko Edo is culturally similar to the Akoko’s on the Ondo side, so they should add them as a state to SW? Kogi west should be 8th state in the SW, Kwara state should be 9th state, Itsekiri should also be added to become10th state? It’s not as simple.

Have you been to egbema before? There is egbema rivers state, egbema imo state. Same everything, same culture, same people etc. Why did they carve them out to rivers state?

I have been pondering on this question for a very long time. Why is south east only the only region in Nigeria with 5 states?

All the northern regions and mid belt region have 7 states, south west and south south have 6 states in it. Why is it only south east region that has only 5 states accrue to it?
