I wish this your viewpoint isn't wrong. You may reverse pre diabetes, but not full blown diabetes

Avoid garri.rice.soft drink . alcohol.yam.most fruits and you will be fine

Brisk walking, garden egg, cucumber, fist portion food quantity with lots of green vegetables, you will be fine

Do everything to avoid the onset of diabetes, especially if you have family history of it
Go to YouTube and search for type 2 diabetes reversal and educate yourself on how to reverse type 2 diabetes.

It is possible to reverse full blown type 2 diabetes and people are doing it. Just that it requires discipline. Intermittent fasting and keto diet are some protocol people use in reversing type 2 diabetes.

Infact any diabetic that can reduce 30% of his weight will invariably reverse his type 2 diabetes in the weight reduction process.

Once reversed, you can eat all foods in moderation.
It's like asking if an alcoholic can reverse alcoholism and if he can take some alcohol after the reversal. An alcoholic can reverse his alcoholism by staying off alcohol for some time, after which he can still take small quantities of alcohol occasionally without issues.

Diabetes doesn't go away. Once you start eating the same food that makes you diabetes, it comes back.
You are so wrong.
Diabetes can be reversed and people are reversing it through diet.

Once the insulin sensitivity is restored through appropriate diet, you can eat all foods in moderation.

Diabetes is a dietary and lifestyle illness. To cure it you will have to change your diet and lifestyle that caused the disease. It's like alcoholism, you cure alcoholism by limiting intake of alcohol
FoodRe: Best Food For A Diabetic Person? by Earthstorms(m):
The responses shows that none of the above responders have ever successfully treated diabetes.

Op what is the reason for your question?

Do you want to reverse the diabetes so that the patient becomes diabetic free or do you want to just manage the diabetes so that it does not get worse?

If you want to reverse the diabetes, then go on the keto diet for 6 months the diabetes will go away if there is minimal carbohydrates in the diet for that long.

If you just want to manage the diabetes without curing it, then just reduce carbohydrates and eat proteins, fats and fibres.

My simple advice to manage diabetes is to eat soups and stews alone and avoid all swallows and grains. You can't get it wrong with this approach.

TravelRe: What Is The Worst Country You Have Ever Been To by Earthstorms(m):
For me it is Saudi Arabia, after Nigeria.

Went the Jeddah once. The place stinks, mostly in the evenings. They drive terribly. I thought Nigerians are bad drivers until I went there and someone overtook me by driving at top speed on the side walk.

Edited.

I forgot to add the UK.
That is the 3rd worst country I have been to.
They have extremely narrow inner city roads with tiny roundabouts in this modern day. The residential houses are old with no provision for car park on the property. You have to park on the street.

Went to Manchester once and was as if I was in Sapele, small roads.
I made the mistake of driving into central London and regretted it terribly, traffic was a crawl.

I have not witnessed selfishness elsewhere compared to the selfishness of the UK people. Imagine lodging in a hotel and being told by the hotel to pay for parking your car in the hotel car park. I once parked a car for a few minutes in a hotel vacant car park to talk to someone across the street in Aberdeen, came back a few minutes later to see the hotel manager in the car park seriously fuming and threatening to call the police.

Where else in the world is parking your car in a vacant car park a crime that warrants calling the police?

The irony of the matter is that even though I said Nigeria is the worst country that I have been to, it is still the best country for me. I am not taxed to death in Nigeria just for being alive. The weather is perfect and the variety of foods and fruits in Nigeria is golden.

Hi Nairalanders, I am currently imagining the feasibility and possible return on Investment of setting up Starlink system and selling cheap unlimited connections to a neighbourhood in lagos. I will appreciate every constructive reasoning and advice i can get.
Does starlink have a reseller package that you can distribute to others?

The package for home use will likely come with some fair use policy and it might be structured to prevent large scale distribution.

Why not explore the option of fibre optics internet distribution? Might be a more reliable business on the long run instead of planning on starlink who can just use one software update to block wide area redistribution of the internet connection and throw you out of business.

By the responses here it means a whole generation of Nigerians do not know what public water supply means.

They can not even identify a public water supply tower. It is really sad the amount of decay and backwardness that has befallen the country.

When public water was regularly supplied, we rarely had water borne diseases because the water was treated and you can actively smell the chlorine used in the treatment of the water.

Today water borne diseases like typhoid fever is a regular disease. Who knew of typhoid fever in the early 80's?

You hardly see anyone with boreholes, as treated water is piped to homes. We use the treated water for cooking and drinking and we'll water for washing. There was nothing like sachet water and only few brands of bottled water for the elites.

Now all the public water works are idle, but they still have staff, drawing salaries monthly, with even a ministry and a minister who calls himself minister of water resources without doing any real work.

Every local government prone to kidnapping should purchase search and rescue drones equiped with night vision cameras.

Search for the kidnappers and victims from the sky, relay their locations in real time to your local security personnel and have the kidnappers taken out.

Infact private Nigerians should either buy or make long range search and rescue drones and offer search and rescue services to communities suffering from kidnapping menace for a fee.

We can make honest money from the kidnapping problem. Search for the kidnappers from the sky, relay their position real time to local security personnel and get paid.

Solving the kidnapping problem is not rocket science.

I started womanizing to help me overcome my addiction of Betting.

It has helped to an extent as I spend majority of my time in a brothel, Eating, drinking, relaxing and fvcking.

The issue now is that, since I started two years back, I have been treating one infection to another. Currently having skin reaction bring small inflammation and rashes as my favourite olosho.

I can't help it. I have tried trying drinking to take over womanizing, but won't work.

Except I go back to betting (which is worse). In the past, I would sit all day in bet9ja shop wasting away. Gambling with my money, people's money and my belongings. Then I lose focus and don't work

But with womanizing, at least I get some pleasure, and get to use my money little by little. The rate at which it finishes is not as fast as betting.

The thought of having to choose between different bannies to lash at night keeps me motivated during the day to work harder for cash. Just the infection part as condom do burst at times while there are some I only do raw.

I know my lifespan is short, just want to enjoy it with a sane mind. Having a girlfriend is scary. What if I invest a lot on just one girl and she cheats on me
Have you tried wearing 10 condoms simultaneously?

That should be able to solve the problem of bursting condoms.

Just scratching my head and thinking of your options. Betting, womanizing, drinking. All losers options.

Many are mad, few are roaming.

I had this problem last year.

The Eko electricity distribution guys are not serious.

They were sending bill of more than 600,000 naira to me every month as electricity bill. Mind you, the apartment was mostly unoccupied because I was traveling a lot.

I wrote several times to NERC, nothing came out of it. I just resolved to be paying them 60,000 naira per month as electricity bill.

They kept adding to the outstanding bill. As at this January, they said I have over 4 million naira outstanding bill.

I am not even answering them. I have solar panels, inverters and battery to cover my basic electricity needs. Anytime they disconnect me, I will use solar when I am around.

They deliberately refused to replace the faulty prepaid meter when it went bad, insisting on estimated billing.

If they want to charge their customers fairly, they will install either prepaid meter or post paid meter. But they prefer not to meter anyone, they prefer the criminal estimated billing.

And they deliberately disobey NERC regulations that put a cap on the maximum estimated bill that can be given to a customer for each month. The maximum is not supposed to get beyond 50,000 naira per month for a place on band B. But they will be bringing estimated bills of 600,000 naira to a residential apartment.

These efcc people are not serious.

So a man brings in 299,000 USD,

You counted the 299,000 USD and found out that 250 USD out of 299,000 USD is fake.

If a man want to bring in fake currency, will he bring in only 250 USD as fake out of a total of 299,000 USD?

They simply counted the money the man brought in and picked out 5 pieces as fake just to find something to charge the man with.

Bringing foreign currency into the country should not be criminalized, the penalty for such should be made clear, either a fine or forfeiture of the fund is adequate.

Just because a man did not declare his own money should not be reason to want to jail a man, it is not like the man is taking the money out of the country.

BusinessRe: Revolutionise Landscape Management With Forestry Mulching by Earthstorms(m): 7:11am On Mar 15, 2025
peterdong:
Forestry mulching - an innovative landscaping technique - has emerged as an effective and environmentally friendly method of managing and restoring landscapes. This strategy preserves the health of the soil while minimising wastage. This article delves into the numerous benefits of forestry mulching and how it can revolutionise landscape management.

Understanding the Process of Forestry Mulching

Forestry mulching is a one-step process that uses specialised machinery - a forestry mulcher - to cut and grind vegetation. This method involves shredding trees, brush, and stumps directly on site, transforming them into a layer of beneficial mulch. Forestry mulching benefits soil health while reducing the need for artificial fertilisers.

The Environmental Impact of Forestry Mulching

do you know anyone that has a forestry mulcher in Nigeria?

Forestry mulching encourages eco-friendly practices by reducing the carbon footprint associated with vegetation cleanup. It mitigates soil erosion, prevents invasive species from infesting the area, and promotes natural plant and wildlife growth. Furthermore, it reduces the fire risk by safely removing dry and dead plant materials.

Benefits for Property Owners

For private landowners and commercial properties, forestry mulching can offer vast benefits. It aids in efficient land clearing without causing soil disruption. The result is a ready-to-use outdoor space requiring minimum maintenance. Additionally, the process is cost-effective in the long run as it eliminates the requirements for hauling and dumping debris and related fees.

Forestry Mulching in Practice

Although forestry mulching can provide substantial benefits, utilising skilled experts and superior machinery is vital. Performing it successfully requires knowledge about soil and plant species and an understanding of the local ecosystem. An experienced professional can assess the environmental and aesthetic needs, providing a customised solution to landscape management.

The Future of Landscape Management

Growing awareness about environmental conservation solidifies the future of forestry mulching in landscape management. As ecological sustainability becomes imperative, practices like forestry mulching will only grow in breadth and scope. Moreover, as more property owners recognise its cost-effectiveness and efficiency, it's poised to become the go-to technique for landscape maintenance.

Conclusion

Forestry mulching is not just a method but a movement encouraging sustainable practices in landscape management. Its transformative power over landscapes and its alignment with environmental conservation make it a compelling choice for all seeking to maintain or renovate their outdoor spaces. It represents a blend of economic viability and ecological consciousness rapidly becoming the norm in the modern world.

AgricultureRe: Nigeria: The Cassava Giant Sitting On A Goldmine – But Are We Missing The Boat? by Earthstorms(m): 5:56pm On Feb 09, 2025
iniobong888:
Did you know that Nigeria is the world’s largest producer of cassava, churning out a staggering 63 million tons ? That’s more than double what Thailand, the third-largest producer, grows at 27 million tons. Yet, here’s the kicker: while Nigeria dominates cassava production, Thailand controls 60% of the global cassava starch market, an industry worth over $117 billion! Meanwhile, Nigeria imports over 600,000 metric tons of cassava starch yearly, with local production meeting a mere 5% of our demand.

Let that sink in. We’re the global cassava king, but we’re still importing what we should be producing – and exporting – in abundance.

But wait, it gets even more intriguing. Cassava isn’t just about starch. Another golden opportunity lies in ethanol production, a global market valued at over $100 billion. Nigeria currently imports a whopping $350 million worth of ethanol annually, meeting only 8% of our domestic needs. Imagine the potential if we tapped into our cassava resources to produce ethanol locally. The economic impact would be transformative!

And that’s not all. Every year, Nigeria generates over 15 million tons of cassava peels, a byproduct that’s often discarded. But here’s the twist: these peels are a golden opportunity to produce affordable, high-quality feed for poultry and livestock. This could revolutionize our agricultural sector, reduce feed costs, and boost food security.

The Big Question: What Are We Waiting For?
The cassava value chain is a goldmine waiting to be explored. From starch production to ethanol extraction and animal feed innovation, the opportunities are endless. Nigeria has the resources, the demand, and the market potential. What we need now is action – investment, innovation, and collaboration to turn this potential into profit.

If you’re an investor, entrepreneur, policymaker, or just someone passionate about transforming Nigeria’s agricultural sector, this is your moment. The cassava value chain is ripe for disruption, and the rewards are monumental.

Let’s stop importing what we can produce. Let’s stop wasting what we can monetize. Let’s turn Nigeria’s cassava potential into global dominance.

Drop a comment, reach out, or share your thoughts. The conversation starts now – and the future of Nigeria’s cassava industry depends on you.
What will YOU do to be part of this transformation?
07062475733
Who are the buyers of cassava starch in Nigeria?
I understand that corn starch is imported and consumed in Nigeria, but I am not really sure of who imports and uses cassava starch in Nigeria.

I will be interested in producing cassava starch if there is guaranteed market for it.

I guess you are the one on the youtube video.

You seem to imply that if you are going to plant 100s of acres of oilpalm, then buldozer is required to clear the land.
I think it might be possible to use manual labour for the land clearing to save cost.

I think one can just clear 1m to 2m wide strips of land manually and use the cleared strips as the rows to grow the oilpalm.

The remaining trees and bushes in the inter rows can be cleared manually and slowing afterwards while the palms are growing.

I have seen this done in the establishment of rubber tree plantations.

Rubber trees even have closer inter row spacing than oilpalm, so this can certainly be done with oilpalms.

You are correct about having your own nursery. It saves a lot of cost. However adequate watering is required to prevent the seedlings from dying in the nursery.
