drilling is supervised by well operations, production is supervised by production, pending on the company terminology.
Both under Orient petroleum resources, not orient production.
Nice...
Though unlike you...

So you mean if I should go to Orient petroleum PLC I will be able to find a well operation department as well as production department?

Production and drilling are two different things
Have mercy on yourself

I ve been to both the drilling rig ant the production platform and its more than a 20 mins drive.
The initial argument started with using the picture of a drilling rig owned by Deutag and claim as orient drilling
Oga... Stop Rigmaroles

Answer me who is supervising them stating which department and whose company... Simple..

This is my question to you so Stop outsourcing arguments from nowhere.

Dude, it doesn't exist that way. That is the first thing you learn in petroleum class, drilling school or well control class. If you don't know, ask those who do or ask Google. Crude oil exists in formation, not in a pool.
Oga leave all those things and answer me...

If crude oil doesn't exist in a pool of oil but in formation what then is inside the reservoir considering you are digging for the first time... And why is it called a reservoir then?

A production platform is different from a drilling rig,
Way different.
Ask and it shall be given to you.
You really need that book from subnormal
Before you start spinning around again....
You mentioned Orient production platform.. And am asking outside the aforementioned Which department and company is supervising the said drilling rig? Better answer impromptu

Or I will request for that handbook guide on your behalf.....

This are two different things
You don't win with lies
Orient production platform...? Chai this ain't my business considering the fact that the topic of the thread stated what the thread entails I will like to ask you...

Is oil exploration being done by Orient not done under orient production platform? What dah heck is even wrong with your thinking.

Stop beating your chest. When Jonathan was the President, did he stop the Ibaji Militia's from killing Aguleri people in their hundreds?
After the Boko infested states in the North East, Kogi state has the highest number of armed Militias in the country. It was in this same Kogi state that the DSS attempted to dislodge late Mallam Baba's As-Sunnah Sect at Okene before his boys fled to the adjoining areas around Ebiraland.

If the FG and NBC should address the land dispute between Anambra and Kogi state as soon as possible, we might be having a potentially bloodier Oil war at hand
We don hear now...

If you must know I don't argue or relate well with war mongers... So take a nice back seat. smiley

Can you dig pass 8000ft without being sure to reach the oil surface?
Yes it depends on the depth of the reservoir. Another thing, crude oil does not exist as a pool of oil in formation, it is instead "drained" from pore spaces of the formation. I will suggest you read about permeability and porosity as applied to crude oil
If crude oil doesn't exist in a pool of oil in formation what then is inside the reservoir considering you are digging for the first time... And why is it called a reservoir then?

That's nice, they shouldn't relax on their gores o.. The feat should continue.

The bickering on this thread is unecessary. You should find a way to enjoin your Governor to reach out to the FG and NBC so as to resolve the land dispute once and for all.
Dont be carried away by the seeming economic prospect of being an Oil producing state, consider the security aspect. Human lifes matter than oil
Oga what do you want us to do, we have heard now the talk is already ongoing...

But first of all, the site gonna be on for exploration until everything subsides and settled.

When you drill an exploration well, you gather data about the field including the depth of the pay zone, you may even perform coring to confirm the presence of oil. After that, a decision is made whether to develop such a field and when to develop it. They also make decisions on what method of completion to use. It's not a case of digging deeper to create a well. I can send you books that will help build your understanding of what goes on in an oil field because you clearly have no clue.
Sire... If you have knowledge about oil exploration... I want to ask you some brief questions...

How can you bypass clay during exploration?
Can someone gather data and commence exploration without examining the soil texture?
When you dig the earth what type of soil do you get bypassed until you get to oil.?
Can you dig pass 8000ft without being sure to reach the oil surface?

Can you clarify this?

T43 never hit oil, what they discovers was gas at 6,000 feet.
In the process of going further the got stuck, kogi people invaded and the project was abandoned.

Why are you speaking from both sides of your mouth, I thought you said that they stopped BC of clay?, why are you not ashamed shifting grounds within not less than an hour. So is now BC of the attack?
Well the truth will always prevail which remains that workers has returned to site, the location of the site have been secured and finally they will dig further.

I mustn't be there to get my facts, from the picture evidence and a lil bit information here, I have gotten a little information I cab work with.

Dude you should have searched instead for the average depth of oil wells in Nigeria. I work in the oil field and and our usual TD (target depth) is between 10k to 15k feet. I don't know the specs of the KCA defrag rig, but I do know that if a work over rig is used for drilling in tough formations, it will be found out.
Do not misunderstand me and Please check my second to last post... I never quoted anywhere the depth of an oil well. I only gave the depth under the earth where oil can be found (oil discovery)...

Is it not when you discover oil in a location you will go for an oil well?

Now I know you are really ignorant, instead of begging to learn , you come here to embarrass yourself and the Igbo's with your stupidity.

You quote the first data that displays on a Google search as your reference, without asking yourself which location where they talking about, do yourself a favour and search for depth of Nigerian oil wells WITH A MIRROR BY YOUR SIDE and know how stupid you look.
Don't be too fast before you look like lost urchin on the street of sambisa..

There is Much difference between oil well and oil discovery...

The quote I stated earlier is a world fact about how deep below the earth can oil be discovered and Nigeria cannot be exempted...

My stance is this, oil has been discovered since they have bypassed the average benchmark which is about 6,000 feet (which according to your claim they are stucked in 8000ft).
T43 was the rig currently drilling there, and had been stuck for two months at roughly 8,000 feet.
Now they are digging further to create a reservoir for the oil beneath it which is the oil well you are referring and can go for More than 10k feet below the earth...

Is either you are lost in your own confusion or you are poor in understanding what you saw when you visited the rig. I advise you meet the person that lectured you for more clarification.

I doubt you reason at all, but am sure you have never worked in the field,
I said that particular rig T43 had a lot of challenge, when I worked there and is unsuitable for drilling in that formation. Even the KCA guys knew the were playing Orient
You are the unreasonable one here...

And please where do you get the 8000ft from as something is not adding up.

According HowStuffWorks.
Over the last six decades, it's only gotten deeper. In 1949, the earliest year with data available, the average depth of oil wells drilled was 3,635 feet. By 2008, the most recent data available, we were drilling an average of 5,964 feet, a slight decrease from the 2007 at 6,064 feet. -howstuffworks.com
Because if the 8000ft claim is true literally saying the oil has already been found long time ago.

I was at aguleri otu during the presidential election before the massacre by the kogi baberians.
T43 was the rig currently drilling there, and had been stuck for two months at roughly 8,000 feet.
The geology in the Niger delta region is far difernt from that of the anambara basin which is clay in nature.
That is why I wonder at the folly of hiring a work over rig for full drilling.
I believe we are all reasonable and can think...

Judging your own instinct will you imply that because clay is sitted above the oil you gonna quit exploration which you have laboured with massive resources even if it implies using effective technology to bypass such difficulties?

Let me also tell you that clay is a natural resource(source of revenue) as some communities can't boast of that.
Also following a well-known wise saying nothing good comes so easy won't that mean that having difficulties in getting pass the clay is a good omen?

Lastly I will say that success are near when everything seems not working again.

Besides judging by your submission you have no expertise but just an ordinary onlooker.

In all this I can bravely say there is hope.

This is a drilling rig
T43 Deutag to be precise which is note of a workover rig, I believe this are old pictures except T43 has been recalled.
Moreover a drilling rig does not signify presence of oil, this particular rig can't go beyond 9,000 feet optimally and going by the geology of this zone, I don't know why Orient should be wasting their time with it.
What do you mean by geology of the zone..?

And if I may ask how are we sure you are more experienced or expertised than them...
