SportsRe: FIFA Salutes Stephen Keshi by easyelliot(m): 4:06pm On Aug 08, 2014
dabossman: Can you explain why Paul Bento left a half-fit Cristiano Ronaldo on the field? Why did Sabella remove an effective Lavezzi for a Sergio Aguero that was just returning from injury and ended up being largely disappointing? Why did Del Bosque continue to start a half-fit Diego Costa ahead of Fernando Torres and David Villa? (The one game those two started they both scored.)

If you can answer these questions, I will answer yours.
Germany won the world cup so they would be the current standard not countries that didn't win.

I think we all know Keshi could have done better, just concerning mikel alone, he should have pulled him off but didn't.

That's either ineptitude or something else, Keshi can do better.

Goke7: accountability is different from Phd [pull him down syndrome] which is what you are doing

Grow up please!
U obviously can't debate without stooping to insults and yapping

Pull him down syndrome is funny though

You have a good day bra!

Goke7: Nigerians are too difficult to please, all we do is to run down people's successes even when there are enough evidences! Thank God that FIFA is not headed by a Nigerian
Well I guess its too much to ask for accountability in Nigeria.

SportsRe: FIFA Salutes Stephen Keshi by easyelliot(m): 2:18pm On Aug 07, 2014
I am resigned to the fact that Keshi is our coach and happy that fifa thinks he did such a great job, but is this the best we have to offer?

Would German coach Low have left a mediocre bench warmer like mikel in despite him constantly losing the ball in his own half?

Do we want a coach that won't listen, its his way or no way at all? Won't select players for flimsy reasons, but selects certain players for curious reasons.

I'll take a starter playing in MLS over an epl bench warmer.

Its time for me to get my coaching licence
I think I got a shot.
SportsRe: Keshi Is A Goodman But Not Worldclass by easyelliot(m): 1:55pm On Aug 07, 2014
Exactly.

I'm not sure about Oliseh or any other former international. We need a coach who can build us towards winning the wc, who has experience beyond African shores and has coached at club level. For me those are my criteria.
BusinessRe: Us-africa Summit: US Firms To Invest $14bn In Africa by easyelliot(m): 4:02pm On Aug 06, 2014
Due to the lack of transparency in most of Africa ,why not come and build specific projects and maintain them instead of giving the money to individuals or representatives of the people.
SportsRe: Cristiano Ronaldo Named “the Fittest Man Alive (photos) by easyelliot(m): 3:55pm On Aug 06, 2014
Wasn't so fit at the world cup was he?

Should have let Zlatan enter wc jor.

But wifey must not see dis picture chai .....too much pressure.
InvestmentRe: B.R.I.C.S. Why Is 9ja Not On This List? by easyelliot(op): 1:31pm On Aug 06, 2014
To me the answer is harnessing that entrepreneurial spirit that flows through our ppl and protecting the process. Its sounds so simple but we chose to allow the current infrastructure to stand.

Let's hope this is a nickname..
SportsRe: Keshi Officially Accepts Offer To Stay On As Coach Of Nigeria by easyelliot(m): 3:40pm On Aug 05, 2014
Honestly, much as I would have liked another coach, I couldn't think of one to succeed right now.
Keshi is the best we have right now, sad but true
SportsRe: NBA star Paul George breaks his leg during a basketball game ..,, by easyelliot(m): 12:32pm On Aug 02, 2014
This is bad for him and the pacers, especially for his young career. Pacers let lance walk to the hornets so their season is done.

Gruesome injury.
SportsRe: I Want Nigeria Back — Keshi by easyelliot(m): 1:55pm On Aug 01, 2014
ENZOSCIFO1: Point of correction, Keshi is the all round best coach ever to coach the eagles.
Westerhoff was better, IMO. But Keshi is right there.

Going forward however I dont think keshi is the man for us. His player selections and technical know how is average at best. The team played with no true identity.

His decision to leave Mikel in for all our games despite his lack of pace, losing the ball in his own half, and just a total lackadaisical attitude screams of a coach who is either scared to sub big boy mikel or incentified not to.
SportsRe: US Senators Call For Pressure on Fifa To Strip Russia Of Worldcup 2018 by easyelliot(m): 7:48pm On Jul 31, 2014
If China can host the Olympics, despite their human rights record, then Russia should be given the same privelage.

On a side note when is 9ja gonna host the world cup or Olympics? 3 nations that belong to Brics (economic contenders I.e. Brazil Russia India China and south Africa)have hosted one or the other or in the case of Brazil, both.
cry
Its OK to laugh at ourselves, but my goodness its not funny anymore.....Nigeria never host anytin pass under age football or all Africa games......
SportsRe: Kelechi Iheanacho Only Scorer In Man City Penalty Loss Against Liverpool by easyelliot(m): 3:50pm On Jul 31, 2014
Nachooooooooo libre!!!!!!!!

I want this kid in our afcon 15 team. We need to semi rebuild with younger more dynamic players with eyes towards 2018. Players who can chew gum and dribble at the same time without stumbling over his own to feet.

I'm happy to see the future of Nigerian soccer start with a big club like man city. He needs to listen, learn, outwork whomever is ahead of him on the depth chart and strike when the opportunity occurs.
InvestmentB.R.I.C.S. Why Is 9ja Not On This List? by easyelliot(op): 12:43pm On Jul 31, 2014
There is an organization of developing progressive nations called BRICS featuring countries like Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa. This organization is filled with number one contenders if you will, to the champs I.e. US, France, England, Germany etc in terms of their economic growth population and education just to name a few.

So y is Nigeria not in Brics?

Guykhena: @Bolded.
You know Heath Ledger is dead right?
Nolan was meant to make a reference of The Joker in TDKR,but in order to pay homage/respect to Heath Ledger it was scrapped....

No one can portray The Joker like Heath Ledger did.
I know he is dead haba now.....lol
I understand paying homage by not replacing him, but tdkr did not explain what happened to the joker even after Bane freed all the convicts including scarecrow.

My favourite DC movie to date, gotta be The Dark Knight(I loved Heath Ledger's portrayal of the Joker).
With the awesomeness of TDK,TDKR was a big disappointment,it didn't live up to expectations, the storyline was messed up,,
Ledger's portrayal was so influencial the guys from Skyfall decided their villain had to be similar, joker and Silva are practically brothers. I do agree partially about Tdkr, it felt long and rushed, and they never really explained what happened to the joker. I mean they just swept it under carpet.
SportsRe: Victor Moses Is Surplus To Requirements At Chelsea by easyelliot(m): 1:39am On Jul 29, 2014
Just watching him play at the world cup, he is not the same player he was his first season and at anc 13. I hope he gets it back, ball is in his court, he has to bring it in practice, outplay out hustle whomever is in front of him on the depth chart.

I still have faith in moses.
TV/MoviesRe: Thread For "Marvel Comics" Fanboys And Fangirls by easyelliot(m): 8:16pm On Jul 28, 2014
Tdkr was no failure, it just wasn't as good as tdk. However the scene where Bane beats the crap out of batman, was awesome.

On a side note, marvel knows how to entertain and not take itself too seriously..... I present DC comics latest, WW......y so serious

SportsRe: Should Kelech Iheanacho Take Over The No 10 Jersey From Mikel Now? by easyelliot(m): 3:58pm On Jul 28, 2014
I'm sorry but what exactly have SE achieved since the 90s? If we exclude anc last yr, they haven't done diddly squat!

Let's be honest with ourselves , we as a nation have passed the level of celebrating youth wins, by players that may or may not be young. They may be young at heart but that doesn't count.

This kid is a beast whatever his age, let's not waste time passing him thru under 20 , he has potential to be a superstar and if we are thinking about building for Soviet Union 2018, start building a young dynamic team early...build them over time, don't believe me ask Germany.

Mikel is a grade a scrub. Im happy for his celeb status and representing 9ja at Chelsea respect fully, but keeping Mikel wearing the fabled number ten jersey just because of seniority is ludicrous, when there is mercurial talent like nacho right there waiting in the wings.

Yes, I like the name nacho.

Iron man 3 was bad, but thanks to RDJ and his charisma ppl were seduced into believing it was good.

Man of steel started well then CGI kidnapped the movie.

Kudos to whomever started this thread.

Good, however moses can still be saved. A move to Everton might get his mojo back.

As for mikel, u absotively suck. Not even good enough for Nigerian league.
TravelRe: 20+ Nations Issue Travel Warnings Against Nigeria by easyelliot(m): 8:11pm On Jul 23, 2014
That ain't stopping nothing. Nigeria is no more dangerous than here in America, where somebody is not happy they decide to kill everybody including themselves.

Here where going to school is like going to war; you don't know which looney is gonna bring automatic weapons to school.

Hypocrites!
SportsRe: The Management Problem In Nigerian Football: Where Are The Eaglets Of 2013? by easyelliot(m): 4:36pm On Jul 21, 2014
When are we going to have separation between govt and mngt, so proper football authorities run things? No matter the leadership of the country, nff should have a clear identity. So when we have young talent, their career can be guided to big clubs that help the kid grow, not allow them to play in inferior leagues and stifle their own development.

But when the talent level is compromised by over age players and then mismanaged, not because of ineptitude, but because of greed and corruption, then you get where Nigerian youth football is, aneamic.

Was never in doubt, every four years its the same tune.

I do fully support a ban on mikel, the most overrated player in the history of Nigeria, or it must be his charisma that fans his fame, cant be for his play.
