Guys, cheer up. If you can afford it, This is actually time to buy more BTC and other altcoins. We have been through this countless number of times. This is actually the time to make most money off crypto. Yes, you heard me right. When the market crashes/is correcting, it is actually time to buy more. I remember sometime in June when there was some form of market crash. NEO (then antshares) fell from $12.50 to $5.5. I took a big gamble and bought 200 tokens of antshares. Fast forward 3 weeks later, antshares shot above $50 each . I sold and made almost 1000% profit. There's always some news about china, thwy literally ban everything. FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, TWITTER etc are all banned in china but they are still thriving. So guys cheer up, brace up cos this might continue till the end of September. 2 Likes |

Najwal: Thanks so much for this post. It led me to buy Tenxpay. I bought 2000 tokens at $0.67 each. In just about 1 month, each Tenxpay token is now selling at $4.80. Please we should find a way to keep this thread alive so we could share more ideas. 1 Like 1 Share |

bigj1800: Peeps should apply caution with this dude. Total waste of time. After wasting more than 40 minutes of my time,I had to get an escrow to vouch for him. I offered to send first , then this guy came up with a barely plausible storyline.... He started giving me a cock and bull story that The BTC belongs to one of his Younger brothers, and that he wants him to get here before continuing with the transaction... That was like 2hours ago, dude has since dissapeared. Probably he is still waiting for his brother to come. If you don't have the bitcoins in your wallet, why advertise on nairaland. Time wasters everywhere. |

Yards: I totally understand what you are suggesting but my investment is actually borne out of a well thought out strategy. To buttress this point, let me list out the most common investment strategies: (1.) Buy and hold, without caring about day-to-day (or even month-month) fluctuations. This I consider to be an investment. (2.) Buy and hold a core position and add on them during the major dips in prices; this is considered a very powerful strategy. (3.) Buy a certain amount every week or month, and even-out your entry price, without the hassle of timing the market. (4.) Try to catch major turning points to reduce and “re-boost” your position. (5.) Trade short-term movements with stop-losses, targets, and strict risk management (this is trading not investing)” My interest in cryptocurrencies is largely as an investment using approach 1 and 2 listed above. But if I understood you well, you are asking me to do No.5 which is more of trading and does not align with my interest at the moment. Thanks for your suggestions anyways, it's always welcome and appreciated. 6 Likes |

Yards: I was also guilty of what you just said. I remember having about 7 BTC, I sold off most of them when BTC hit $800+ because there was a sharp decline in prices then. I really was feeling like a smart business man at the time not knowing I was being plain silly. Fast foward 1 month later, bitcoin hit $1800. I just hated myself. That time I wasn't even looking at ALT coins I have learned my lessons tho, any Cryptocurrency I buy now is for the long term. I'd reassess my position every 6 months to 1 year. Trading can be exhausting for me so I check whenever I can to see new viable coins I can hedge on. 6 Likes |

Nice write-up , the best time to invest in crypto currencies was yesterday. We are already late but Skeptics will be forced to embrace it much later in the future. By then, they will be fraught with regrets of how much money and opportunities their skepticism have made them miss. 1 Like |

Family / Re: 17.2% Of My Monthly Salary Goes To My Wife & Yet... by easyflex: 3:14pm On Mar 24, 2017 |
zaynie: Best comment by miles on this thread. Op should loosen up, he is so uptight. Marriage should be fun and enjoyed. What your wife did is what up to 80% of women do , "yab your wife about this", abeg find a way to make a good joke about this issue and watch how it can spice up your marriage. The rude response you got was likely from the way you confronted her... like woman I don catch u today. 1.Please, learn to treat your wife as an equal in the marriage not an employee. 2. Share and dissect your payslip and how it is spent monthly with your wife so she would understand how modest your salary is so she can either adjust accordingly and stop seeing you as a stingy man who gives her only 30k out of the millions he earns. 3. Delegate more responsibility to your wife , e.g let her buy the baby food sometimes and add a little change on the money too. This makes women feel good, engenders camaraderie which is healthy for the union. 4. I suspect there is an age gap between you and your wife , so come down to her level and understand how her mind functions so you can enjoy the marriage more or alternatively bring her up to your level ( in love) and help her attain emotional maturity. 5. Do not starve your wife of funds. I repeat do not withold your wife's allowance. she can use it as justification to do outrageous things that will make this spiral out of control. Moreover, remember that life is like a see-saw , 10 years from now (God forbid) you may lose your job , take ill , and find yourself dependent on her, this is when you would realise that some women never forget/forgive. 6.My brother , try and losen up , make your wife your best friend because the marriage you are defining here sounds like contract marriage (I'm so sorry to address your marriage as such). Find a way to spice up your marriage and engage more with your wife. 7 Remember not to take most of the advice you read here. Most of us here are single and doesn't understand the dynamics of marriage. GOOD LUCK. 3 Likes |

MonsieurCoder:I was at an Ikeja branch of StanbicIBTC about 2 weeks ago to get BTA , there were already about 15 people in the queue before 10am waiting for the approval of their own dollar requests. They were even calling people with backlogs who have been on the waiting list to come and pick up their approved BTA. I was lucky my own $3,800 BTA request was approved @ N375/$ when it was exchanging @ N460/$ in the parallel market @ the time. This money could have only gotten me $2,800 in the parallel market just about 10 days prior to the CBN forex intervention. This put an additional $1000 in my pocket thereby easing my travel burdens and stress. The aviation/tourism sector is one of the vital sectors CBN policies was aimed at rescuing apart from the industrial sector. Several airlines (like United airlines, Iberia) were leaving the country and others threatening to leave/downsize due to poor patronage. When you make a cursory appraisal of our airports , you would appreciate the sheer volume of Nigerians travelling daily... some for leisure , some for academic pursuit , many for business purposes and a significant number for health reason (e.g I know an oil worker that had to pay about $90, 000 USD to have a lifesaving brain tumor operated upon in the U.S a few weeks back) We also should appreciate that our economy is import based so there's a lot of dollar demand to bring in raw materials plus other commodities. When you add old BTA/PTA backlogs plus matured LCs waiting to be redeemed you will appreciate the sheer volume of dollar transactions going on daily in the country. If you could have about 15 people waiting for BTA in just a branch of STANBIC IBTC. You can only imagine the extent of forex/dollar demand when you put the whole country in perspective. Remember Nigeria is estimated to have a population of about 200 million people. So an intervention of about $2billion USD spanning over about 1 month plus old backlogs makes it an average of $10 per citizen. So when you consider our population , the fact that we are an import based economy , our tendencies to travel a lot, and our constant inclination to roundtrip/try to beat the system then you would understand where all the dollars is going. As much as we may argue that the system is not sutainable , and that it's not the best option economically, I suggest we quit bickering and enjoy the naira appreciation while it lasts. 9 Likes |
