Anybody that is well versed with basic U.S immigration and travel rules will know that both of these people mentioned in this article committed deportable offenses.

The first guy most likely had some irregularities in his travel arrangements and documents which is the reason I believe he was detained.

The second guy obviously took a heavily pregnant wife to the U.S without delivery arrangements and adequate finances.

Both incidents are deportable offenses and not arbitrary as being insinuated by most posters here.

If you have a valid visa and good travel arrangements , U.S border agents won't give you any trouble. Please let's quit being sentimental.

No offense meant but if you really "need" to open a dorm account but you consider it exorbitant to deposit a $100 (if that is the prerequisite) , then it is very doubtful if you actually need the account.

Mind you, any deposit (including the 100 bucks) can equally be withdrawn within 24 hours of opening the account. so I'm still trying to figure out how the 100 bucks is a big problem .
We also have to bear in mind that these are profit making organizations. Even forgot to mention that I get credit alert most time within 30 minutes of international transfers even if after close of work.

Go with diamond bank,I use them, no charges on receiving funds. Also the charges on their dollar denominated visa card is good. Just $2 for cash withdrawals on international ATM terminals unlike some other shakara bank that charge $5 -10. Their app is top notch and good customer support.

To the best of my knowledge , for most international transfers the sender pays the fees .

For most US banks , wire transfer fees range from $40-60 , Chase online transfer I'm very sure is $40 , credit unions collect up to $60.

Diamond bank Domm account to the best of my knowledge does not charge fees to recieve funds. However over the counter withdrawal can attract little charges. Diamond bank as at today charged $2.50 for withdrawal of $1,000.

However, if the fund is not sizeable as is in your case wire transfer doesn't make economic sense.

Other options that might be available to you is asking your brothers to send you bitcoin equivalent , however be mindful of bitcoin volatility.

Some dealers here also offer services whereby your brother can deposit the funds in their U.S accounts while they pay you a negotiated naira value. However be mindful of scammers.
Some reliable dealers here like onatisi I think offer such services so you can deal with him if that option appeals most to you.

But if you still are confused then you can do the good ol western union or money gram , that is if their rate doesn't make you nauseous.
