It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Late Elder Pius Ogaba Oche (JP), a respected patriarch and beloved father to James Ogaba Oche, the esteemed Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government in Benue State. Elder Pius Ogaba Oche departed from this world on 2nd Dec. 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and community service.

Born on 2nd Oct. 1940, Elder Pius Ogaba Oche (Otse O’ Offu) lived a remarkable life that spanned 83 years. His journey on this earth was marked by unwavering commitment to family, community, and the betterment of society. As an upstanding member of the community, he earned the title of "JP" for his dedication to justice and peace, embodying the principles of fairness and compassion throughout his life.

Late Elder Pius Ogaba Oche's influence extended beyond the confines of his family, reaching into the heart of Ado Local Government and beyond. His son, James Ogaba Oche, follows in his father's footsteps as the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government, a testament to the enduring impact of Elder Pius's values on the next generation.

The burial ceremony, a celebration of a life well-lived, took place today 9th Feb. 2024 at Apa Agila in Ado Local Government area of Benue State. Family, friends, and community members gathered to pay their respects, share fond memories, and commemorate the indelible mark Elder Pius Ogaba Oche left on their lives.

Elder Pius Ogaba Oche will be remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and his dedication to fostering unity within the community. His legacy lives on through the principles he instilled in his family and the positive influence he had on the lives of those around him.

As we bid farewell to Late Elder Pius Ogaba Oche, let us celebrate the enduring impact of his life and the love he shared with all. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

THE All Progressives Congress , APC, has become the beautiful bride of Imo north political class going by the gale of political defections by the crème of heavyweight political actors from political parties like Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Action Alliance (AA) and All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), into its fold, unarguably due to the overwhelming success of the 2019 general election.

Some of the political heavyweights who have defected from AA, PDP and APGA in the past few months into APC includes the governorship candidate of APGA in the 2019 election, Senator Ifeanyi Ararume, the former Deputy Governorship candidate of the AA, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, former secretary to Imo state Government, Engr. Mark Uchendu. Former PDP senatorial candidate, Chief Athan Achonu, former APGA House of Reps Candidate, Chief Chikwem Onuoha and many others.


The political prognosis for the current defections and political jostling within the APC point to the quest for the Imo North ticket of the party for the 2020 senatorial bye election which will be decided among the various contending interests during the upcoming primaries of the party.

Going by the character of the personalities involved, the Imo state Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma the National leader of the party, party elders and the party’s leadership at the state and National levels, including the president and the zonal leadership of the party surely have a lot of work in their hands.

Apart from these political heavyweights who are rumoured to have defected from other political parties to APC to contest the Imo north Senate election, there are other credible and party loyalists such as the former National Coordinator, Women For Change Initiative and blood sister to late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu, Adanne Chidinma Uwajumogu who did not leave the party to anywhere but have kept faith with the party even in the face of political gang up and intimidation.

The story of late senator Benjamin Uwajumogu whose seat is being contested by these gladiators and her blood sister Chidinma Uwajumogu is that of Siamese twins or, better still, the snail and the shell. They are political soul mates. Their political relationship was said to have started immediately after the demise of their father, late Chief Benjamin Uwajumogu.

Before joining APC with the brother during the formative stage of the party, Chidinma Uwajumogu had operated at the highest level of politics including being the National Coordinator, Women For Change Initiative, a pet project of Dame Patience Jonathan that rallied and empowered women across the country. The political relationship between Benjamin Uwajumogu and Chidinma at the time senator Rochas Okorocha took over power in 2011 must have informed the decision to elect late senator Ben Uwajumogu, as the speaker of Imo state House of Assembly and latter as the senator for Imo north.

They worked together to win a second term for late senator Benjamin Uwajumogu, as well as, won a total of 18 court and tribunal cases to shut their opponents up and maintain dominance of their senatorial district. Whatever political direction late senator Ben as senator took, Chidinma as a worthy ally and a loving sister followed. But fate was to play some tricks in their destinies. It was not long after their victory at the Appeal court that Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu died in Abuja, while in active service for his party and nation.

Senator Ben's death informed the need for family replacement in order to protect his legacies, as well as, actualize his dreams for the people of Imo north senatorial district and APC, the party he loved so much. The support Late Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu got from her sister, Chidinma during the time the opposition rose against him in the Senate for staging a walk out on the leadership of the 8th Senate, in defence of his party and for refusing to dumb his party the APC for the senatorial ticket of APGA, is the same amount of attention his legacies are going receive if the sister Chidinma replaces him in the senate.

Chidinma's popularity, doggedness, inputs and strong commitment to APC contributed in facilitating support for Late senator Uwajumogu while he was in the Senate and victory for APC during the Imo north senatorial election and to an extent garnered reasonable votes for the president in the 2019 presidential election.

Her commitment and party loyalty was on display for all to see after the party suffered major crisis in Imo state in 2018. While those presently jostling to be the party’s senatorial flagbearer were busy defecting from the party for the fresh aroma of political tickets, Chidinma Uwajumogu and his brother, senator Ben remained in APC. As a women of honesty, sacrifice and loyalty, Chidinma Uwajumogu stayed true to the values of the party even in the face of opposition onslaughts and political harassment by political gladiators who left APC for AA,PDP and APGA.

This is not in any way to downplay or trivialise the commitment or political integrity of the recent defectors; after all, some of these men and women were founding members of APC who helped its growth. In fact, these are men and women who at the risk of their political career and personal safety have not shied away from speaking against those in power They did not keep quiet in the face of the seeming abuse of power by the then governor of Imo state, senator Rochas Okorocha.

But to reward loyalty and put the party in a vintage position to defeat other parties and retain the Imo north senate seat, APC leadership must choose a candidate who has grassroots sympathy, support and core values as enshrined in the founding documents of the party which remains the guiding principle that helped in nurturing these men and women to withstand the political pressure from AA,PDP and APGA to defect.

As time ticks for the senatorial primaries for Imo north bye election, one is not naïve to think that it is going to be easy to choose one candidate among the array of qualified personalities who given the right environment for a free and fair election will defeat other parties and offer better leadership alternative for the people of Okigwe zone and Nigeria at large.

One of the core values party must consider when they vote for the party’s senatorial flagbearer for the 2020 Imo north senatorial election should be commitment to party ideals and genuine party loyalty which are the founding fathers’ guiding principles, as expressed in the lives and sacrifices of party icons such as President Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu, among others.


It is noteworthy to observe that some of the candidates jostling for the Imo north senatorial ticket of the APC are embodiment of these values; and Chidinma Uwajumogu is one of such. The former coordinator of Women For Change is a special breed grounded in core values of APC to which she has pitched her tent since its formation and remained till date. Chidinma Uwajumogu is one of the party’s senatorial aspirants who declared her interest publicly and has continued to crisscross the entire senatorial district to sell her candidacy. A woman not given to much fanfare and public spectacle, she remains a very credible replacement to complete her brothers term.

Imo north senatorial contest is akin to the biblical narrative of the prodigal son who got tired of staying under the protection of his father, asked to be given his own share of the family’s wealth. After being obliged, he wasted same in riotous living only to come back to his father in repentance asking for forgiveness. Expectedly, his father forgave him and threw a party to welcome him back into the family. But the elder son who has been dutiful and committed to the family business felt neglected and angered; but his father’s advice should be very instructive to all APC leaders and Members as they gear towards electing the party’s senatorial candidate. The father of the prodigal son consoled the elder brother and assured him that there was no need to be jealous for celebrating the return of his younger brother who was lost but found, since the family possession belongs to him. In other words, no need to be angry but rejoice that your brother is back and alive but all the family possession belongs to you as a reward for your commitment, sacrifice and loyalty.


Adanne Chidinma Uwajumogu represents that elder son who irrespective of the political twists and turns coupled with harassment refused to abandon the family (APC) business in search of personal benefits by defecting to AA or APGA. As APC primaries gets close, party elders, members and delegates should take a cue from the father of the prodigal son by rewarding late senator Benjamin and Chidinma Uwajumogu's commitment, sacrifice and loyalty. Failure to do so will be a miscarriage of justice.

Series of interest groups comprising of the host community, students, the Alumni, engineering experts and even staff have jointly filed a petition to President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari against the outgoing Director/Chief Executive of Metallurgical Training Institute (MTI), Onitsha, Mr. Olabode Fakuade over corrupt practices and management ineptitude. The petitioners have equally urged the President to discountenance any recommendation seeking to reappoint Mr. Fakuade as NTI Boss.

In the petition jointly signed by His Royal Majesty, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, the Eze of Iweka III and Engr Steve Nwoha, Mr. Anayo Okolo and Mr. Jude China the representatives of Staff, Alumni and students respectively, the petitioners have in an elaborate document spelt out a litany of administrative wrongs accredited to Mr. Fakuade and have further advanced reasons why his stay at MTI was a sham.

The petitioners have further insisted that, President Buhari should not contemplate the possibility of reappointing Mr. Fakuade owing to his porous administrative abilities and have equally charged the President to consider an expert in regard of the nature of the institute in appointing the next Chief Executive. The petition highlights in part the many atrocities of Fakuade in view of the foregoing:

1. The Director created a conduit for misappropriation and embezzlement of fund named Consult Unit meant to provide special services on special arrangements at a cost. He incorporated an organization to operate this unit to be run by an appointed stooge and opened a corporate account with First Bank Plc: Account Name - M.T.I Consult and Account No – 2011050993. Only the Director and the appointed stooge are signatories of the bank account opened in contravention of the Federal government directive on TSA account. The issue of misappropriation and embezzlement of fund through this illegal account is a subject of pending ICPC investigation and indictment at its Enugu Office.
2. In 2017, a fictitious contract was awarded to VUCO Consult Limited through Metallurgical Training Institute and it was never executed while the contract fee of forty one million, six hundred and eighty five thousand naira only (N41, 685, 000) was paid in full upon directive of the Director.
3. The contract for the completion of rehabilitation of erosion – ravaged internal roads and construction of reinforced concrete box culvert was dubiously categorized as phase 1, phase 2 and phase 3 and awarded three times by the Director to Blue Fortune Limited, a company belonging to his brother, Mr. Bayo Olatoke. In 2016 and 2017, the project was awarded and re-awarded at the cost of fifty four million and seventy five thousand naira only (54, 075, 000) respectively to the said Blue Fortune Limited without due process but it was abandoned after full payment to the company. In 2018, the Director re-awarded it to the same company and paid the contract value in full despite non-execution of the contract in 2016 and 2017.
4. Operation of two separate accounts; at FCMB and first Bank Plc with account number: MTI Consult and Account No. 2011050990 one for student’s contribution to training and the other whose number should be investigated. Investigation of these account would reveal huge embezzlement and diversion of public fund as well as non-compliance with TSA directive.
5. The outgoing Director/Chief Executive was indicted by an audit team from the Ministry of Mines and Steel development which visited the Institute on 25th November, 2019 to investigate the judicious use of the Ministerial intervention of eighty eight Million naira (N88, 000, 000) and Ninety Seven Million Naira sent to the Institute in 2018 and 2019 respectively for procurement of training equipment.
6. The outgoing Director/Chief Executive was also indicted by an audit team from the Accountant General’s office for failure to account for judicious use of almost One Billion Naira (N1, 000, 000) allocated to the Institute for 2019.

MISMANAGEMENT AND ORCHESTRATED FALSEHOOD
The outgoing Director/Chief Executive is apparently bent on running down the Institute over the last four years as reflected in the following specifics:
1. The Information Technology Unit of the Institute is presently moribund as the internet service subscription has expired since 2018 and most of the computer systems are down while the functional ones lack updated or functional software.
2. Despite huge budgetary allocation for capacity building in the Institute, more than 80% of the Staff of the Institute have not gone for any course for the past four years
3. Despite huge amount expended, the power supply situation in the Institute has been very poor and epileptic with most machineries rendered idle and non-functional, with street lights and some installed solar power units working for only few hours while others are not working at all.
4. As observed and vehemently condemned by the Project Monitoring and Evaluation Team of the Ministry of National Planning and Budget, most of the internal roads awarded and constructed by the Director have been washed away and overgrown with grasses in average period of 6 months to one year because the contract was awarded without due process, thereby leading to poor execution and use of expired or substandard asphalt. Also, Huge cost inflation and poor execution were also condemned by the Project Monitoring Team in respect of 800m concrete drainage and culverts which was awarded three times without due process.
5. As witnessed by the Honourable Minister of States for Ministry of Mines and Steel Development during his visit to the Institute, most of the critical and vital equipment in all the training workshops of the Institute including Process Flow in Instrumentation and Control Engineering Department, Power Console in Industrial Electrical Engineering Department, Welding Machines in Steel & Fabrication Welding Engineering and so many lathe & milling machines in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Department are all non-functional despite misappropriation and embezzlement of huge fund in acclaimed repairs of broken down training equipment. Also, the Minister condemned the fact that most of the training equipment budgeted for were not procured and those procured were not done according to specifications.
6. The outgoing Director/Chief Executive a geologist, and not an Engineer as required to lead such an engineering-based Institute. This clearly explains his odd, curious and retrogressive management decisions in appointing an English Teacher as Head of Training, an office equivalent to Dean, School of Engineering of the Institute instead of a COREN registered Engineer as severally demanded by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) through several letters and as also requested by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as precondition for full accreditation of courses for the Institute. In similarly odd and curious management decision, the outgoing Director/Chief Executive appointed someone who read Primary Education Management as the Head of Curriculum Planning of Engineering Courses in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural and Fabrication, Instrumentation and Control, Industrial Metallurgy and Heavy Mobile Engineering instead of a COREN registered Engineer.
7. There have been Newspaper reports on the demand by the ALUMNI of Metallurgical Training Institute, Onitsha for the removal of the outgoing Director/Chief Executive for reason of not being a qualified Engineer, professional incompetence, mismanagement and corruption; the most recent being news report of ICPC investigation of alleged fraud by the management of the Institute on page 9 of Sunday Telegraph of June, 2019.
8. With lack of accreditation, professional incompetence, abysmal mismanagement, corruption, bizarre appointment decisions and dubious and fraudulent contract awards and execution, it is not surprising that everything about the Institute has been going from bad to worse particularly in the past four years of the leadership of the institute by Mr. Fakuade, the outgoing Director/Chief Executive.

PROFESSIONAL INCOMPETENCE
The outgoing Director/Chief Executive of the Metallurgical Training Institute, Mr. Olabode Fakuade is a geologist and yet wrongly appointed to head a training institute for engineering expertise in Electrical, Mechanical, Structural and Fabrication, Instrumentation and Control, Industrial Metallurgy and Heavy Mobile Engineering. This is clearly a case of square peg being forced to cover a round hole which is both illogical and impossible. This explains the request and recommendation by Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) that a COREN registered Engineer should be appointed to head the Institute. In a similar vein, the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) advised, as precondition for full accreditation of courses that the Institute be headed by a COREN registered Engineer and that same should apply to its training department.
CONCLUSION AND DEMAND
Given that this strategic institute has great implications for the development of technical expertise for our Engineering profession, the mines and steel sector and industries generally, the renewal of appointment of Mr. Olabode Fakuade for another four years term will greatly worsen the already decadent situation of the Institute.

We have information that the outgoing Director/Chief Executive, Mr. Olabode Fakuade has deployed falsehood and misrepresentation of facts to deceive the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite into approving or recommending his re-appointment for another four years tenure. By this public petition, we appeal to His Excellency, President Mohammadu Buhari and the Minister of Mines and Steel Development to consider the interest of stakeholders of the Mines and Steel Sector, Engineering Profession, Industrial Development and concerned alumni, student representatives and academic members of the Institute to appoint a COREN registered Engineer as Director/Chief Executive of the Metallurgical Training Institute.

In the spirit of the Yuletide season, Benue Ambassadors of Transformation (BAT) have paid a visit to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp at Daudu, in Guma local Government area of Benue state.

The Benue Ambassadors visited the camp with food items, toiletries, detergents, beverages, clothing among other materials to celebrate the Christmas with the IDPs.

The lead Ambassador, Amb. Attah Ochaga Mark on behalf of the leadership and entire BAT Nation thanked the Internally Displaced persons and encouraged them to keep faith with God. He said what has happened to them can happen to anyone stressing that, as long as there is life there is hope for them.

Speaking to newsmen, Amb. Ochoga said, "It was pathetic seeing the numbers of families that have been displaced from their homes and are now being camped under very poor living conditions.

BAT thanked Government and international organizations who have been providing for the IDPs so far, however called on them to find a lasting solution to the incessant herdsmen attacks on Benue communities so that the IDPs can return to their various homes.

With a mission to preserve the Anaañ history, language and culture and to promote our cultural heritage, promote and market Anaañ language, industry, arts and crafts including advancing the appreciation and understanding of Anaañ artistic production, and scholarship, through a yearly cultural event, tagged Annang Festival of Arts and Culture (AFAC), in partnership with other Anaañ organisations, Nto Annang Foundation (NAF) is set to host this year’s edition of the festival, AFAC 2019.

Slated to hold between December 20 and 22 at Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium and Ikot Ekpene Plaza in Akwa Ibom State, activities lined up to mark the cultural tourism festival is according to the organisers a reflection of the theme of the celebration: “Harnessing Anaañ Cultural Assets for Economic Gains.”

The festival, which enjoys the endorsement of the National Council for Art and Culture (NACA), Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) and Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, promises to be one of the biggest show stoppers and largest fiesta in 2019.

Now in its third edition, the national President of the NAF, Abom Ephraim Okon, said arrangements have reached an advanced stage for the hosting of the event. According to him, it promises to be a colourful and exciting showpiece of the cultural wealth of the Annang people, with exhibitions spanning both the intangible and tangible heritage of the people and spiced by the culinary display, arts and craft as well as live performances by notable Nigerian musical Icons.

He further disclosed that the theme for the festival is: ‘Harnessing Annang cultural assets for economic gains.’ To this the end, he said efforts are being made to ensure that every component of the festival displays the vast and unique cultural assets of the people of Annangland and how the people can take advantage of them to enhance their living. With endorsement from the state government and the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) among others, he said the three days event is also geared at developing and promoting travel business in the state.

The event shall model strategy for effective travel trade business, cultural synergy and enduring unity through culture and tourism as a special purpose vehicle. This model we intend to replicate for global peace efforts and to mark our cultural product at the international stage,’’ said Okon. He stressed that the festival, which debuted in 2016, has helped greatly in developing the tourism market of the state, as it has gone in a long way in generating tourist traffic to the state and Ikot Ekpene. Therefore, he disclosed that the projected tourist traffic for this year is 15, 000.

According to him, the rich and enlarged content of the festival this year include: Colourful cultural display from over 5, 000 cultural revellers; 800 spectacular masquerades display; Annang warriors trek, drum ensemble of over 5, 000 extinct African drums; art exhibition and colloquium/cocktail party for VIP and foreign envoys.

Others are: Night of legends; Ujai Annang beauty pageant; Annang language essay competition; Annang hall of fame induction ceremonies; inauguration of children royal troupe; and festival theme song/Annang ballad.


This Night of Stars and Beauty comprised the celebration of the Anaañgness the Annang Hall of Fame and the awards of excellence to deserving sons, daughters and friends of Anaañ; dance, poetry, arts and performances by a star-studded squad of renowned artists in Nigeria and this will be crowned with the Ujai Annang Beauty Pageant.

Alleged molestation of siblings on the Plateau ;

‘’My gesture of benevolence and charity incurred suspicions that led to such unwarranted display of jungle justice for which I am a victim’’
For those who know Mr. Allen James, it is inherent that they understand his simplicity and benevolence especially as it regard his relationship with his neighbors, colleagues and people generally. His humility cannot be over emphasized, this good virtue and gesture has indeed landed him into trouble as though it is bad to be good…

It is within the public domain especially the social media that the said Mr. Allen lured two siblings with bobo and biscuits just to sexually harass them, the said publication which was insighted and instigated by a lady called ‘’Jemimah”, was at the time of such an unfounded publication being investigated by the Nigeria police, and the said Mr. Allen who do not have an opportunity to tell his own side of the story to the public became a victim of such social media malady.

It all started with the usual natural gesture and benevolence for which Mr. Allen is known for which includes his charitable mindset for children, colleagues and neighbors, wherein every one close to such a philanthropist has been a subject of his benevolence. When he newly relocated to a rented apartment in rayfield Jos, same acts was not withdrawn as children and adults come to him for assistance. Some come to assist him with house chores each time Mr. Allen returns from work just to attract his gift, including the alleged victim.

On this fateful day, Mr. Allen who has been ill got back from work as usual, and two siblings who live within the neighborhood in their usual manner came around to inquire if Mr. Allen had any chores for them, while the first was knocking at Mr. Allen’s door, the second was called upon by one Jemimah,she was confronting her as to what they were always coming around Mr. Allen for, on insisting that they were only coming to assist him with chores, the said Jemimah pounced on her and started beating her up, “asking her to confess”, when Mr. Allen heard someone crying, he immediately went out to ask what the problems was, it was at this point Jemimah alongside others who were attracted by the beating, transferred aggression to Mr. Allen, tore his clothes and started beating him up. This attracted the neighborhood, especially boys on the street, who upon hearing Jemimah’s story, picked up sticks, belt and started beating up Mr. Allen, they asked him to lie on the floor and snapped him until a police officer came around and rescued Mr. Allen to a nearby police station, while the police was investigating the said allegation, Jemimah had infested the entire social media space with such unfounded claims and stories.
The question now is what prompted the said Jemimah to act in the manner she did? What did she intend to achieve by her actions?
Well the matter is still lis pendis so expressions are limited.

It is however most paramount to state that the use of social media platform is not to publicize unfounded news or defame any one, as same is actionable. Mr. Allen is an astute gentleman whose benevolence cannot be over emphasized, being a man who has built his fame and pedigree over the years, he cannot seat and fold his arms while those with unknown evil intentions deliberately drag such reputation to the mud, time shall unravel this mystery.
He therefore unequivocally reinstate his innocent and accordingly desire to say no further as the matter is lis pendis.

The President of Igbo Indigenes Without Borders, a socio-cultural organization with special bias for the benefit of Igbo People both at home and abroad, Dr. Benard Oshi has lauded the leadership qualities of the executive governor of Enugu State, Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and what he termed the governor’s ”tenacious dedication towards delivering his campaign promises to the good people of Enugu State!”

Speaking at a town hall meeting jointly organized by two Igbo-centric Socio-Cultural Organizations comprising of the Okpara Igbo Forum (OIF) and Igbo Indigenes Without Borders in Lagos, a fortnight ago, Dr. Oshi praised Dr. Ugwuanyi, whom he described as an “astute leader who derives immeasurable joy from providing basic and essential services to the people of Enugu State, through his massive infrastructural, manpower and community development strides!”

Dr. Benard Oshi who hails from Aninri in Enugu State, availed that “with what the governor has been able to achieve in less than four years, there’s no gainsaying the fact that he is the right man for the job.” Continuing, Dr. Oshi who is also the executive Chairman of Ben 10 Equipments, a construction equipments leasing company, and Ben 10 Entertainment Inc., an established entertainment industry big player, also announced the unalloyed endorsement of Chief Ugwuanyi for a second term by his organization, Igbo Indigenes Withot Borders, while imploring the Okpara Igbo Forum through its President Mazi Onyebuchi Obah (SAN), to do same by galvanizing his members who are from Enugu State to rally round the second term ambition of the performing governor in the forth coming gubernatorial elections in 2019.

According to Oshi, “this is to ensure the continuation of the marvelous work the workaholic governor, who is popularly and endearingly known as “Gburugburu” has been doing.” “Enugu State has never had this good for a very long time, so it behooves all of us to make sure he returns. Some of us who were born and bred outside the State have always wished for purposeful and people-orientated government, and now that we have gotten that, we need to maximize the inherent potentials in such a government to the fullest.’

Continuing in the same vein, this young philanthropist who is popularly known as [b]Ben 10 [/b]posited that “it does not really matter who is at the helm of affairs in the state, all that the people yearn and demand for is good governance and Dr. Ugwuanyi is currently providing that In the State, so I personally don’t see any reason for a change of baton in Enugu, because you don’t change a winning team while the game is still on unless you are prepared to lose, and I don’t sincerely believe that the good people of Enugu State are prepared to lose out now.”
In parting, he implored “all Enugu State indigenes and residents who are of voting age to disregard the ranting of anti Ugwuanyi elements who are only interested in their own selfish and pecuniary benefits and come out en masse to return the performing governor during the governorship elections early next year, for the overall benefit of all Enugu indigenes and residents alike.” …..from Myke Pam

Amidst the conundrum of noises and cacophony of voices denouncing the so called Igbo political elites’ apathy towards forming consensus fronts and/or present candidate(s), and the perceived disunited front the South Eastern geo-political zone are said to present whenever the onus falls on the zone to bring forth a representative or common front in the national discuss and elections; Dr. Benard Oshi, the President of Igbo Indigenes Without Borders has risen to the defense of Ndi Igbo.

In a press statement which was signed by him and made available to our correspondent, Dr. Oshi challenged those he called the traducers of his people to “walk a mile in the shoes of Ndi Igbo, feel their pulses, their collective disappointment in the Nigerian polity, their pains, their strives and survival instincts before drawing their conclusions!”
Making a case for the integrity of some prominent Igbo political and business leaders, he averred that “the nation Nigeria needs the ingenuity and managerial genius of an Igbo President if the nation hopes to be taken serous as a top player in the International community anytime soon.”
Pointing out what he termed the “tenacity, doggedness and superior political acumen of the Deputy Senate President Dr. Ike Ekweremadu, despite all the travails he has been put through as an example of the Igbo man’s tenacious pattern of creating and nurturing building blocks for a better tomorrow, Oshi decried what he called “a systematic application of the maxim of ‘giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it’!”
Bemoaning the dearth of credible and service driven leadership in the country, Dr. Oshi who is also the Chairman of Ben 10 Equipments and Ben 10 Entertainment Inc. canvassed for the enthronement of purposeful individuals with vision to pilot the affairs of the nation. Drawing a comparison between Nigeria and other developing countries that had their independence around the same period as Nigeria, he queried our “resolve as a people desirous of good governance, yet unable to stand up and speak out against the almost comatose state of our economy and the mis-governance of a few against the collective will of all!”
A well known believer and advocate for good governance, the Ani nri, Enugu State born philanthropist posited that “Igbo leaders in the mould of Ike Ekweremadu, the Ike Oha Ndi Igbo, should be encouraged, emboldened and given all necessary support they need so as to rescue the sinking Nigerian ship from the misdirection of the unqualified captains currently piloting the ship to damnation!”
“Having Ike Oha at the top echelon of governance is not just going to be in the best interest of the Igbo race in particular (as a credible and trustworthy son), it will also immensely benefit Nigeria as what Ekweremadu brings to the table will definitely change the way we view and do things, for the better. I have known and watched him closely and can attest to his capabilities as a leader and lover of his people and the nation Nigeria, he opined.”

In conclusion, Dr. Oshi called on well meaning Igbo indigenes to get their PVCs and get ready to vote wisely with the overall benefit of Igbo Land at the backs of their minds, while promising to galvanize the entire members of Ndi Igbo Without Borders to do same.
