Source:http://ebalsblog..co.uk/2016/05/nigerian-boy-sodiq-adebayo-found-guilty.html Nigerian boy and three others found guilty of hunting down and stabbing Hackney teenager to death Four members of gang who hunted down and murdered a teenager in east London are facing life behind bars. Marcel Addai was stabbed 14 times after the tripped and fell while trying to escape the knife-wielding members of notorious Hackney gang, Fellows Court, in September last year. The 18-year-old, a member of the rival gang Hoxton Boys, was stabbed close to his home at Wenlock House, Hoxton after being chased by the gang who arrived in a convoy of cars to attack him. Sodiq Adebayo, 23, Momar Faye, 19, Sheku Jalloh, 23 and Rikell Rogers, 23, were found guilty of Marcel’s murder at the Old Bailey on Thursday. Three others, Akeem Gbadamosi, 22, Eugene Ocran, 19, and David Oladimeji, 21, were acquitted. During the trial, the defendants blamed each other for the attack and had to be handcuffed and forcibly kept apart by guards while in the dock when the verdict was read out, the London Evening Standard reports. Abebayo broke down in tears and Faye shouted at the jury “I’m an innocent man, you have thrown my life away for no reason”. He also threatened the trio who were acquitted saying he was going to “do” them when he got the chance. “Make the most of the time you have, you’re a bad boy”, he added. During the trial, witnesses said they had heard a commotion at around 10pm on 4 September as the gang arrived in a black Mercedes, a silver Vauxhall Astra and a dark blue BMW to find Marcel. He attempted to zigzag and run away from them but tripped and was stabbed repeatedly after falling to the ground. The attack happened out of the range of CCTV cameras, but the gang members were tracked down using the vehicle licence plates. Judge Rebecca Poulet QC remanded the four in custody ahead of their sentencing hearing next week. All will face a minimum term of life in prison but the judge will set the minimum term they must serve before being considered for parole. Britain has handed £3billion in aid to Nigeria and Afghanistan since 2010 - David Cameron *UK’s is a ‘safe haven’ to launder stolen cash - Dino Melaye Britain has handed £2.7bn to world's ten most corrupt countries since 2010 Comes after PM said Nigeria and Afghanistan are 'fantastically corrupt' The two countries receive £435million a year from British taxpayers Britain has given almost £3billion in aid to the world’s most corrupt countries, it emerged last night. Official figures reveal that Britain has handed £2.7billion to the world’s ten most corrupt countries since 2010. The figures came after Prime Minister David Cameron was caught on camera describing Nigeria and Afghanistan as being ‘fantastically corrupt’. He was speaking ahead of today’s anti-corruption summit, where representatives of more than 40 countries will gather in London for talks on tackling global corruption. In response, Nigerian leaders yesterday demanded Mr Cameron return billions of pounds stolen by crooked officials and laundered in Britain with ‘no questions asked’. The two states, whose presidents will attend today’s summit, receive £435million a year from British taxpayers – a figure that has risen 35 per cent since Mr Cameron took office in 2010. The Prime Minister was accused of ‘encouraging’ endemic corruption in the West African country by allowing cash creamed off government projects to be pumped into British banks, luxury homes, car dealerships and private schools. Asked about Mr Cameron’s comments as he attended the start of the conference, Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari said: ‘I am not going to demand any apology from anybody. What I am demanding is the return of the assets.’ A letter sent to Mr Cameron by 40 civil groups in Nigeria ahead of the conference had warned that efforts to fight corruption within Nigeria were undermined by the failure to tackle laundering in the UK. It said: ‘It is ironic that the countries that pride themselves on their own lack of corruption are the very ones providing most of the corruption services to our corrupt officials.’ Nigerian senator Dino Melaye also accused Mr Cameron of being ‘deeply offensive’ and demanded a crackdown on the UK’s role as a ‘safe haven’ to launder stolen cash. He told the Daily Mail: ‘We want an apology from Mr Cameron. His reckless and demeaning statement has insulted the integrity of our country. ‘Many major banks in the United Kingdom promote non-disclosure agreements. ‘It allows people to steal from our economy then warehouse it in the United Kingdom. Money is also put into luxury homes and other forms, with no questions asked.’ He said the amount of stolen cash laundered in the UK ‘runs to billions of pounds’. Chukwuka Utazi, chairman of Nigeria’s senate committee on anti-corruption, said: ‘As long as the criminals steal and Britain is ready to take the proceeds it will continue.’ The Afghan embassy in London yesterday described Mr Cameron’s comments as ‘unfair’, saying the country was making major efforts to tackle corruption. The country, which is ranked as the third most corrupt nation by Transparency International, has been handed £1billion of taxpayers’ money. Somalia, ranked the most corrupt country, has received £583million. MP Philip Davies yesterday called on Mr Cameron to suspend all aid to corrupt countries ‘until they have cleaned up their act’. But he rejected his call, saying Britain had an ‘important moral responsibility’ to provide aid, which he said helped tackle problems like mass migration and terrorism. Mr Cameron will today call for a ‘truly global solution’ to the ‘evil of corruption’. But Panama, the British Virgin Islands and the football body Fifa, which have all faced serious accusations of corruption, will all be absent from the conference. An Oxfam spokesman described their absence as ‘disappointing’, and urged the Prime Minister to do more to tackle secretive tax regimes in British overseas territories. The spokesman said efforts to tackle corruption ‘will not prevent rampant tax dodging unless the same standards are also extended to UK-linked tax havens’. Hamzat Lawal of Connected Development – which is trying to track how Nigerian government and British aid money is spent – said it is often ‘extremely difficult’. He said: ‘We know some money is creamed off and goes to Britain but the exact details are very murky.’ Cobus de Swardt, managing director of Transparency International, said: ‘By providing a safe haven for corrupt assets, the UK and its overseas territories and crown dependencies are a big part of the world’s corruption problem.’ Mr Cameron will announce today that ministers will press ahead with plans to force firms to reveal the true owners of valuable properties in the UK on a new publicly available register. In a surprise move, the plans will cover existing properties as well as future deals. More than 44,000 of the estimated 100,000 homes owned by foreign companies are in London. Campaigners have long complained about how foreign dictators, corrupt businessmen and criminal gangs launder stolen cash through London mansions.DailyMail http://ebalsblog..co.uk/2016/05/britain-has-handed-3billion-in-aid-to.html

Manchester United footballers are trapped on coach by West Ham fans hurling bottles Laughing and joking as they film their unfortunate predicament, this was the reaction of Manchester United players as their team bus was pelted with bottles when West Ham's emotional farewell to their home of 112 years turned ugly this evening. Mobile photo footage, which appears to have been shot by United midfielder Jesse Lingard, shows the Premier League club's stars huddled on the floor in the aisle of the coach as missiles were hurled from home supporters. Expletives are shouted as the players try to avoid being close to the windows. Speaking ahead of tonight's game, United and England captain Wayne Rooney said the club's coach had been 'smashed up' after the mood turned unsavoury among thousands of home fans who had filled the streets around the Boleyn Ground. The match was delayed until 8.30pm after the United coach eventually arrived at the stadium just 35 minutes before the original 7.45pm kick-off. Blood Shed As Oshiomhole’s Commissioner Disrupts APC Campaign With Thugs (photos Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Edo State, Barr. McDonald Obasuke yesterday in Owan West Local Government Area disrupted the campaign train of Mr. Godwin Obaseki with armed thugs who beat up delegates loyal to the governorship aspirant and chased them away with guns. Mr. Godwin was thrown in shock and totally rattled because of his hitherto smooth movement from ward 01 to 11 of the local government area until he got to Sobe, being the last ward in the local government and also the home town of the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism Commissioner..... An eye witness’ account revealed that some of the Obaseki’s followers who were attacked at Sobe had no premonition that such an attack was in the offing. The eye witness, a party faithful of APC who craved anonymity, said thus: “We are baffled that governor Adams Oshiomhole and Mr. Godwin Obaseki have characters like Barr. McDonald, a known cultist, in his cabinet and campaign trail”, the eye witness said. The immediate past chairman of Owan East Local government, Barr. Jimoh Ijegbai, corroborated what was revealed earlier to Urhokpota Reporters that the Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism was at the heart of the shooting at Sobe. Barr. Ijegbai said he was also prevented from entering Sobe, by the same commissioner who said that they were not from the same local government area. Another eye witness account revealed that the immediate past chairman of Owan West council, Hon. Reginald Okun and the boys of the Commissioner, three in number, have been arrested with fire arms, to be moved to the state police headquarters in Benin City. Investigations by Urhokpota Reporters reveal that the shooting incidence may be connected to a supremacy contest between rival secret cults. Few days ago the deputy governor of the state, Dr. Pius Odubu, escaped assassination attempt on his life at the campaign rally in Etsako West Local government area. Our sources learnt that Mr. Godwin Obaseki who was afraid for his life hurried out of the shooting scene and could not continue with his campaign. The state commissioner of police Mr. Chris Ezike confirmed the incident, but however told reporters that he his yet to receive report from the DPO Sabogidda-Ora and Auchi which control Sabogidda-Ora’s division. Marijuana's official designation as a Schedule 1 drug — something with "no accepted medical use" — means it is pretty tough to study. Yet numerous anecdotal reports as well as some studies have linked marijuana with several purported health benefits, from pain relief to helping with certain forms of epilepsy. Still, experts say more rigorous scientific analyses are needed. Use of marijuana, a psychoactive drug, can come with risks, especially in people who may be prone to addiction or mental illness. Take a look at how marijuana can affect your brain and body: Marijuana can make us feel good. One of weed's active ingredients, called tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, interacts with our brain's reward system, the part that has been primed to respond to things that make us feel good, like eating and sex. When overexcited by drugs, the reward system creates feelings of euphoria. This is also why some studies have suggested that excessive use can be a problem in some people: The more often you trigger that euphoria, the less you may feel for other rewarding experiences. It can make your heart race. Within a few minutes of inhaling marijuana, your heart rate can increase by 20 to 50 beats a minute. This can last anywhere from 20 minutes to three hours, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Weed may help relieve some types of pain... Pot also contains cannabidiol, and this chemical — while not responsible for getting you high — is thought to be responsible for many of marijuana's therapeutic effects, from pain relief to a potential treatment for certain kinds of childhood epilepsy. Still, while we have a lot of anecdotal reports from individual users who claim that marijuana has helped relieve their symptoms, few controlled scientific studies exist to support these claims, since the drug is still illegal in most of the US. ... like the discomfort of arthritis... Nevertheless, some small studies support the idea that marijuana can have beneficial results for certain ailments. One of the ways scientists think it may help with pain is by reducing inflammation, a component of painful illnesses like rheumatoid arthritis. A preliminary 2005 study of 58 patients with RA, roughly half of whom were given a placebo and roughly half of whom were given a cannabis-based medicine called Sativex, found "statistically significant improvements in pain on movement, pain at rest ... and quality of sleep" for patients on Sativex. ... or the pain of inflammatory bowel disease. Some people with inflammatory bowel diseases like Crohn's and ulcerative colitis could also benefit from marijuana use, studies suggest. But most researchers still say more studies are needed. A 2014 paper, for example, describes two studies of chronic Chron's patients in which half were given the drug and half were given a placebo. The first study showed a decrease in symptoms in 10 of 11 subjects on cannabis, compared with just four of 10 on the placebo. But when they did a follow-up study using low-dose cannabidiol they saw no effect in the patients. Marijuana may also be helpful in controlling epileptic seizures. A drug called Epidiolex, which contains cannabidiol (the marijuana component mentioned above in slide No. 3) may be on its way to becoming the first of its kind to win approval from the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of rare forms of childhood epilepsy. The company that makes it, GW Pharma, is exploring cannabidiol for its potential use in people with Dravet syndrome and Lennox-Gastaut syndrome, a rare form of childhood-onset epilepsy that is associated with multiple types of seizures. In March the company came out with phase-three trial data that showed positive results of the drug. But it can also mess with our sense of balance. It may throw off your balance, as it influences activity in the cerebellum and basal ganglia, two brain areas that help regulate balance, coordination, reaction time, and posture. And it can distort our sense of time. Feeling as if time is sped up or slowed down is one of the most commonly reported effects of using marijuana. A 2012 paper sought to draw some more solid conclusions from some of the studies on those anecdotal reports, but it was unable to do so. "Even though 70% of time estimation studies report over-estimation, the findings of time production and time reproduction studies remain inconclusive." In 1998 study focusing on the brains of volunteers using magnetic resonance imaging, the authors noted that many had altered blood flow to the cerebellum, which most likely plays a role in our sense of time. Weed can also turn your eyes red. Since weed makes blood vessels expand, it can give you red eyes. And you'll probably get the munchies. A case of the munchies is no figment of the imagination — both casual and heavy marijuana users tend to overeat when they smoke. Marijuana may effectively flip a circuit in the brain that is normally responsible for quelling the appetite, triggering us to eat instead, according to a recent study in mice. It all comes down to a special group of cells in the brain that are normally activated after we have eaten a big meal to tell us we've had enough. The psychoactive ingredient in weed appears to activate just one component of those appetite-suppressing cells, making us feel hungry rather than satisfied. Marijuana may also interfere with how we form memories. It can mess with your memory by changing the way your brain processes information, but scientists still aren't sure exactly how this happens. Still, several studies suggest that weed interferes with short-term memory, and researchers tend to see more of these effects in inexperienced or infrequent users than in heavy, frequent users. And in some people, weed could increase the risk of depression. Scientists can't say for sure whether marijuana causes depression or whether depressed people are simply more likely to smoke. But one study from the Netherlands suggests that smoking weed seemed to raise the risk of depression for young people who already have a special serotonin gene that could make them more vulnerable to depression. Regular use is linked with some specific brain changes — but scientists can't say for sure whether one causes the other. In a recent study, scientists used a combination of MRI-based brain scans to get a better picture of the brains of adults who have smoked weed at least four times a week for years. Compared with people who rarely or never used, the long-term users tended to have a smaller orbitofrontal cortex, a brain region critical for processing emotions and making decisions. But they also had stronger cross-brain connections, which scientists think smokers may develop to compensate. Still, the study doesn't show that pot smoking caused certain regions of the brain to shrink; other studies suggest that having a smaller orbitofrontal cortex in the first place could make someone more likely to start smoking. How safe is marijuana really? HOW BENIGN IS IT? Marijuana has undergone a makeover in recent years. Once viewed as the purview of hippies, deadbeats, and jazz musicians, it’s gone mainstream. It’s no longer shocking for characters in movies or even TV to smoke a joint, and with voters approving marijuana for recreational use Oregon, Alaska, Colorado and Washington State, there’s a real sense of momentum. A recent Pew study showed that for the first time a majority of Americans support legalization. No doubt these are heady, or should we say, high times for the cannabis plant. But while it may be increasingly accepted - and increasingly potent - is it safe? A debate has been raging between pro and anti-legalisation groups over just how benign pot is. http://ebalsblog..co.uk/2016/05/must-read-what-marijuana-does-to-your.html

Come guys i know that we can’t trust our judicial system but jungle justice is not the way forward especially this form or even any form of jungle justice. this is child abuse regardless of whatever the girl is been accused. we must have compassion for one another, this is totally unacceptable. My husband, F.E.Benson Idahosa II, and I met in Benin City, Nigeria when I was 13 years old; our fathers (Benson Idahosa and Gary Whetstone) were friends. I’ve referred to my love for Feb as “love at first sight”because very soon after we met, the sparks of love began to flicker between us. After many years, my dream came true when I was 28 years old; Feb made me his wife! I was the happiest woman on earth and smiled ear to ear all through our courtship and wedding day. I was so excited to be his wife! The next thing I couldn’t wait for was to be the mother of his children; I wanted so badly to carry his baby... During the first year of our marriage, pregnancy didn’t happen like I expected. Subsequently, I convinced my husband to go with me for a fertility check-up. He thought it was silly because he was so sure that we’d have our kids. Eventually, just to pacify me, we went for the check-up. To our surprise, they did all the testing and came back to us with tormenting news. They told us that both he and I had very serious fertility issues and that we would never be able to have a child without In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). The Doctor looked at us both in our eyes and told us that we are 99.9% infertile. My world felt like it crashed down on me. It was a journey I never expected to undergo. My husband on the other hand had steadfast faith and kept reassuring me, saying, “We will have our children! God promised it, He will do it!” Following the logical path of thinking, we decided to embark on the journey of IVF. The next year, we gathered our money together from some investments we made before marriage and went for our firs treatment. After $25,000, injections, surgery and so many stories that ought not to be told, we did our first embryo transfer. 2 weeks later, so full of hope, we went back to see if we were pregnant and my world crashed again; it didn’t work! We repeated this process several times over the next few years, each time ending in disappointment. The more treatments I did, the puffier my tummy began to look. Well-meaning friends and family would see me and think that finally I was expectant! They would rub my tummy and give me hugs of congratulations… all the while, but I knew my uterus was empty. Empty! And trust me, I sooo longed for a baby. After four failed IVF attempts, my husband and I decided to find another hospital which had a statistical track record of better outcomes. We went to New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell University. This time, IT WORKED!!!!! I was finally pregnant! Hallelujah!!!!!! I carried that pregnancy like someone carrying an egg with a spoon; very delicately… although we were based in Nigeria, I refused to travel back during that pregnancy. I followed every instruction and went for every doctor visit. I was ready to be a healthy mom with a healthy baby. On July 3, 2007 after a long labour and eventual CS, I gave birth to the most handsome baby boy. He had a full head of hair and to this day, I can remember that feeling when they brought him to me and we looked at each other, eye to eye. We quickly announced it to our family and to anyone and everyone. Across the globe there were celebrations and outbursts of Thanksgiving! He was the first grandson born to the late Archbishop Benson Idahosa!!! The doctors asked to monitor him overnight in the NICU because he was born via CS. We were so excited to have him that we didn’t give it a second thought. Early the next morning, the head nurse came to my hospital room and asked us to rush to see him. She told us that he was having trouble breathing and sustaining a blood pressure. What happened next, one could never have prepared for. We watched our miracle baby die. Benson Idahosa III, lived for only 12 short hours. The first time I held my miracle baby in my arms was when he was dead. Throughout the grieving process, we discovered that there was a grace upon our lives that man can never give. We cried desperately; deep tears that I never knew I was capable of crying. Simultaneously a faith unlike anything that I ever experienced began to billow in our spirits. As dark as that time was, our resolve had never been stronger. We knew that we knew that we knew that we would have our children! We buried our long-awaited son on July 9th. During the burial service, Bishop David Huskins prophesied over us saying, “Within a year from today, God is going to give your family a cause to rejoice.” At the time, I was reluctant to receive this prophecy, knowing our arduous journey of infertility treatments. We returned to Nigeria with empty arms but hearts full of hope and prophetic promises. The doctors in New York told us that we couldn’t attempt another IVF for a year, so, we began to fit back into our life routine. We also began to embark on a project that the Lord had birthed in our spirits during the height of our pain; to open a hospital for women and children in Nigeria. We were awakened to the fact that if this could happen to us in America (where we had everything humanly available to attend to our baby), how much more is it happening in Nigeria where many medical facilities available are sub-standard, to say the least. The dream for Big Ben’s Children’s Hospital (BBCH) was birthed By November of 2007, I still had not gotten a period since the delivery of my son in July. Figuring it would eventually come, I didn’t give it much thought, however, one morning, on a whim, I decided to do a check.I had drawers full of home pregnancy tests and I just decided to take one. To my surprise, it read POSITIVE!!!! I was pregnant again, and this time, completely NATURALLY!!! God had worked a miracle in our lives! We travelled back to America for good medical care. The morning of July 9, 2008 (exactly one year after the burial of our first son and the prophecy) I gave birth to a healthy, handsome baby boy!!! To God be the Glory! Feb Jr. is our son’s name and is alive and doing very well. He is in elementary school and excels in everything! God answered our prayers and kept His promise toward our home! When Feb Jr. was 2, I started being concerned as to why I wasn’t getting pregnant again. We wanted a sibling for our son. We went back to the doctors for testing and they told us that we were worse off than before. While they acknowledged the miraculous nature of Feb Jr.’s conception, they told us, “Nobody wins the lottery twice.” I was convinced to try another IVF, which I did. Sadly, it failed, just like all of the others before it.I returned to Nigeria and within two months, I got pregnant naturally! Naturally, I say, naturally! On November 14, 2011, we gave birth to yet another son, Nathaniel Benson Idahosa. “Nate” is going into kindergarten this year and is an exceptional joy to have in our home. While still breastfeeding Nate, birth control was the furthest thing from my mind. I assumed that I had natural birth control, only to discover that I was PREGNANT AGAIN! Another natural conception to the Glory of God! Judah Benson Idahosa was born on January 2, 2013 and is now a thriving toddler with the energy of 100 men! God has given us our heart’s desire. We are raising three boys, all naturally conceived. Our marriage and love for each other has been strengthened through the journey of infertility and infant loss. God is faithful to His Word! He will always do as He has promised in our lives. He never fails His children. Though it may seem like it’s getting worse and it may feel impossible, keep your eyes on Him with expectation. He is the giver of life and never fails. My prayer for you is that you will follow the path that God has for you and that your prayers will be answered as God has planned, in Jesus name! Rev. Laurie Idahosa is the Senior Pastor of CGM, Church Unusual in Benin City. Source:http://ebalsblog..co.uk/2016/05/must-read-how-late-arch-bishop-benson.html

Recall that in an unscripted video of herself on her official channel, KUWTATV, the actress had said she would remain single unless she marries a white man, adding that I don’t think I can go through it anymore,” she quipped. However, Toyin has recently revealed that she may not get married again as she feels traumatized and scared to love. Speaking on Fashion Buzz TV, she said, “I don’t think I would love again. I think I have trauma. I am even scared right now. All I need now is God and the holyspirit to help me. “The truth is I’m scared. I don’t think I can even love. I am over it but I can’t be healed. “There’s no point lying,” she added. When asked why she dated Seun, (if it was all about love), she said, “Because I wanted to get over my ex-husband, Adeniyi Johnson.” http://ebalsblog..co.uk/2016/05/i-dont-think-i-would-love-again-i-think.html

A chilling video has emerged online, the video shows the Fulani militia warning Nigerians that more blood will flow despite their current attack on Uzo-Uwani Community in Enugu State, the terrorist vowed to kill more innocent citizens. The Video which was obtained by Thetrent and translated by its editor, revealed that those terrorist quoted that they have friends on the higher places, both in the President Buhari's -led Government. Investigations on the video shows that it was sent to the governor of Zamfara State, Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari as a warning for him to call the Hausa farmers who rear cattle “to order”. Read the translation below: “We are Fulani herdsmen declaring war against any tribe, be it Hausa or any tribe that has being subduing us. We are everywhere in Nigeria… Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Niger, Kano, Kwara, Oyo, Anambra, Kebbi. Our mission is to destroy souls and claim their properties, especially those of the Hausas and other minority tribes that have ganged up against us to steal our cows. “We will spill [the] blood of everyone in any community that kills one Fulani man. We are armed to the teeth and ever battle ready for any security agencies, if at all there is, because we have brothers in government circles. We have, on our side, top ranking officers, emirs, and what have you on our side and they are always willing to divulge secrets to us. “Our people are in the military, the police, the secret police [Department of State Security Services], and many more. “We are everywhere and we are not ignorant as you think we are. I am educated and knowledgeable of my Islamic rights. We have what it takes to defend ourselves come (sic) every time. “We have beautiful women that will satisfy our sexual arousal, money, enough bullets, and others. We lack nothing. We have enough weeds to smoke. “Take this video to the governor of Zamfara State. If he does not co-operate with us, we will bring an onslaught on farmers in Zamfara who stole our cows. Hausa man (sic) is not supposed to own a cow in the first place. They are all cows they stole from us, the Fulani. “Any living soul in Nigeria that threatens a single Fulani man in the country will be dealt with by us.” Source:http://ebalsblog..co.uk/2016/04/watch-videofulani-terrorists-vow-to.html [ url= https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW588spwsBc[/url] |
