TravelMan Proposes To Fiancee At The Top Of Idanre Hills by ebbymayox(op):
We started down the trail and I was filled with a renewed sense of adventure. Everyone had no idea what to expect except me, as we headed towards our final peak of the day, a friend and I discussed how everything will go so I started a video to wish one of the Naidrenalin(an adventure group) member a happy birthday, and when it got to friend's turn, he went on one kneel, my cameras were set to captured this moment (any delay or mistake won't be forgiven).

He eventually started out with how much he loved her, she stayed there looking bewildered. It was such a powerful moment and so very beautiful. I don’t think she even heard what he was saying, but she said yes- of course! All in all the proposal was perfect reflection of the two of them, ecstatic, awkward, and in the end, picture perfectly romantic. The was the second proposal from our numerous trips, the first was a guy that pull a similar stunts at Kajuru hills. Everyone is looking for the perfect place and time to pop the question. Clichés are fine, but what makes hills remarkable place to propose. The answer is simple, she says No, you throw her off the hill lol (psychopath alert), but jokes apart hills are very romantic place to put a ring on it. Driving pass after years have gone past in your marriage, you can have a "how I met your mother" moment with your kids -look up right there son, 20 years ago at the peak of that mountain/hill I proposed to your mum.

NYSCThe Igbo Girl Who Became A Hero For Hausa Kids by ebbymayox(op):
HERO-when we hear this word the first thing that comes to our mind is someone extraordinary who fights in a combat, a war or probably a comic character, someone with superpowers like superman, Spiderman, etc. wearing beautiful costumes to save the city from harm and criminals.
But not all heroes are comic characters, in this Nigeria we still have people who despite the harsh economic situation, still wear their capes and save the city in their little ways.
Our hero today is an Igbo lady in her blazing khaki and her orange boot who saved the children of Shinkafi, Zamfara state.
Staring at the picture above, it is unbelievable or difficult to imagine that in this modern Nigeria, there are still some kids who don’t have seats or table in their classroom, that makes the saying "education is the key to success" a terrible joke.

A large amount of these kids’ time is spent sitting on this bare dirty floor. In this same environment they will have to learn the various skills deemed necessary and proper to achieve success in the global society.
How can you have a positive attitude towards education when one of the basics tool for learning is absent?

When Ms Amanda Nzelu, the hero of this story was first posted to Zamfara, like every corp member from the east she never expected to be posted this far to the north, most people told her to find a way of changing it to another place but she accepted not to and went to see what the place holds for her.
The first heart break came when during her introduction to the class by the principal, she noticed student were all sited on bare floor, she couldn’t believe her eyes.
She felt pity on the kids, she wanted to help, but how can a corper's meagre salary help build chairs and tables for about 200 students.
She didn’t allow this to stop her, as her friend she wrote me and send me the pictures. I was touched, I wanted to help but it came during a time when I was also battling financially. I couldn’t help her in a nutshell.

Yesterday, scrolling through her Facebook page, I saw new pictures she posted. It’s now a year she sent me those pictures I talked about at the beginning of this story,
In the new pictures she posted, I saw classroom desks about 200 with her name boldly written as the donator, I was so much happy. Look at the picture, see the joy in the eyes of the pupils.
The moral of this story is that you don’t have process all the resources or always wait for the government to help the society, or help people just because they are your tribe, help with the little you have and see how our Nigeria changes gradually. This is the real change we should preach.
Not all heroes wear capes or have superpower, some wear just NYSC khaki.
Read and keep sharing! The world needs to hear this!

RomanceKissing On A Tree? by ebbymayox(op): 9:23pm On Mar 25, 2016
On my way, the other day, this young lady with headphones on walked right past me, singing "Me and you sitting on a tree.. K.I.S.S.I.N.G.". The Yemi Alade's awesome track that brings back memories. When I should've been staring at her curves that she clearly was flaunting I found myself wondering how that girl could actually relate to that song as at her age, she probably didn't and was just singing along blindly.

Yeah, this generation indeed loves that song. I'm guessing it's the beat or maybe it's the melody. But I doubt seriously that they can relate to the lyrics, after all, who kisses on a tree nowadays? Ok, maybe monkeys do.

I'm not old enough, but I grew up from a generation of boys who impressed girls by climbing high up in trees. The girl liked you if you could reach the thinnest branch and pose there, If you could get eggs from a bird's nest up the tree, If you could move from one branch to the other without finding yourself on the ground, writhing in pain. Yeah that was the generation I belong, we showed affection physically and not just a WhatsApp kiss emoticons.

We sat in trees, with girls, we talked about ladybirds, about Sherri Mango and Kerosene mango. About if to play 'mummy and daddy' in the evening or to play 'catcher'. We made swings on trees and actually swung on them. We played football! Well, technically it can't be called football because the boys abided by the rules but the girls, out of frustration, carried the ball with their hands to the opponent's post, dropped it there in front of the goal, and attempted to kick it in the net from there. They still ended up missing.

But I digress...

We kissed on the trees. More like peck sha.. on the cheek. That is if you were extremely lucky. It was a once in a blue moon thing.

But all the kissing I see today are over iPads and other gadgets.
Ask any girl today what will attract her to a boy. It would be his latest array and sophistication of mobile devices, how accessible he is to a car, and the bulge of his wallet. Small girls o! When our girls their age liked you if you could kill a red neck lizard with a stone from fifty yards. Or if you could hold five-sound knockout 'banger' as it went off one by one.
Pluck two mangoes, give her the ripest of the two and you've just won her heart.

These ones? Mango? They prefer apple... and not the fruit sef.

How could they possibly understand kissing on a tree? They haven't even touched a tree!

I thought the rule is Men Only grin
RomanceSo What Is Your Mumu Button? -written by Mayo Bayo by ebbymayox(op):
The greatest among men is a fool for one woman, so what is your Mumu button?

Ok, before I start, this is strictly a men’s talk, ladies please stay out and feminist don't even come near.

Final check, hey sister, why are you still reading this, I said men only, or because you wear low cut you now think like a dude yeah?

Last warning- Ladies stay off this post!

Alright, we now have just Men, before I continue, let me hail you my fellow men,
Umu Men Kwenu! Kwezuo Nu!
So my gist today is- Mumu Button.

What is your Mumu button? And don't even pretend you don't have one, we all have or once had that woman or that girl that can say something that will make you do what you don't want to do.

You know how when you desperately want something from your Dad and he says NO, then you go through your mum, she says one or two things to him and boom! You have what you want yes? That was your Dad’s mumu button your mum just pressed and he responded fine like the gadget that he is.

Well for me my mumu button is when common why should I even tell you about my mumu button when I know some women are still reading this.

If you know your mumu button make sure you keep it safe in your wallet, deep down where you keep your ATM cards.

I quite remember how a friend used his pocket money for the semester to help a girl subscribe for internet data, he ended up drinking garri till the next month in the friend zone.

The interesting thing about this Mumu button is once it's deactivated you will know just like America will know if Nigerian politician steals money, and after you've realized it you say to yourself “Hell no, I am never going to let this happen again” and she just looks at you and smile ‘cause it’s just a matter of time before you lose your grip and start drooling again like a baby.

The mumu button is wireless, it doesn’t always need a contact, distance doesn't matter much so it works for long distance relationship.

I once stayed awake all night doing an assignment for a girl that was in another university when I haven’t even started mine, she proved Einstein relativity theory was just right she remotely pressed it from far way and distance and space couldn't save poor me.

No matter how tough or Rambo you want to act, there is a girl or woman out there that can make you lose that consciousness, even the biblical Samson who was the then Chuck Norris, succumbed to Delilah after she played candy crush with his Mumu button.

And to those still acting like James Bond, u never jam walahi? I know my Mumu button, do you know yours?

N.B- Mumu button – /Mumu ˈbʌt(ə)n/

.noun
An emergency button and a manipulative ploy women often use on men to make them do what they won’t like to do under normal circumstances.

1.To be a Nigerian, first you must be religious.
And you must advertise your piety. Sleep in the church, pray against your enemies. Proclaim your religiosity from the rooftops. Mention God’s name in every conversation. In a land where there is so much madness, religion offers you the only opportunity to cling on to a measure of holiness. It is the only way to remind yourself that you are human after all, and that there is something that you still believe in. Commit all kind of sins from Monday to Saturday including fraud of all kind, bring part of it to the church on Sunday and give testimony how God has blessed you.
Police "Sir is your car covered with insurance?"
Driver "My car is covered with the blood of Jesus"

2. Constantly complain that Nigeria is the worst country on Earth.

But when October 1st comes, take complete pride in your origins and celebrate like crazy.Wear green and white to show your patriotism, attend independence party, then 2nd of October go back to your nagging.

3. Learn to love gala and Lacasera drink

As these may be the only menu when you get stuck in a traffic.

4.Learn to be joyous.

Every weekend, attend a party, wear the Aso ebi your friend Shove down your throat, and tell yourself that the biggest achievement that any man can be proud of is to remain alive. It doesn’t matter if you are trapped in squalor. If you are lucky to have some means, then you are truly lucky. That is why we are among the happiest people on earth.

5.Keep a mental note of enemies.

To be a Nigerian, you should have enemies and if you don't have one, you will need to create one for yourself, else who will you blame for your misfortunes or failure. Even the Enemy complains of his enemies.

6.Hang a religious symbol like a cross on your car’s rear-view mirror

Or better, get stickers; religious stickers and stick them on your windshield. It doesn’t matter that you are a completely reckless driver — they will protect and ensure that you reach home safely.

7.Look rich at all time even when you're broke

To be a Nigerian, you won’t climb up the social quo if you don’t “pack” yourself properly. You have to either wear it, drive it or live it, else no one will take you serious. You must be loud with your wealth and accomplishments. Even if you are poor, you must carry on with life with a certain swagger. Don’t ever forget that you are a Nigerian; your country is the sixth largest producer of crude oil in the world, the most populous black nation on earth, and the home of the happiest people in the universe.

8.You must wake up each day dreaming of one hundred other ways of making money.

9.After making the money, you should also learn how to flaun[/b]t it.
The wealth you've acquired need to be rubbed on the faces of those enemies.

10.In George Orwell’s book- Animal farm, all animals are equal but some are more equal, to be a Nigerian you should always have it in mind that, all men are equal by citizenship, but some are to be called Ogas.

11.You must also adore titles to yourself.
It doesn't matter how ridiculous they might sound; titles like Chief, Hajia, Alhaji, Otunba, Dame, and other professional titles like Doctor , Engineer. They show how important you're and why people should regard you. These titles show the exercise of lust for respect, authority, and power to satisfy your unworthy egos and vanity, so you must add one to your name.

So you can now call yourself Alhaji Dr. (Chief)........

12.To be a Nigerian, you must be very cautious all the time, treat all with nothing less than suspicion.

13.You should not be able to speak your native language or if you can you should pretend not to be able to speak your native language, even while your battle with English Language remained evident, else people will think you're country-side’, ‘village-bred’, or ‘unexposed’.

14.To be a Nigerian, you must be an optimist. A pessimist is not a Nigerian.

This is the only way to survive is to always hope; hope there will be constant power supply, hope for change, hope that your boss at work will promote you as you can't remember the last time you got promoted, hope that one day boko haram will stop bombing, you have to always anticipate a brighter future else you will die of depression before old age. And this hope needs some rekindling, so for you to be a Nigerian you also need to be an ardent reader of motivational books.

15.To be a Nigerian, you don't have to be too time conscious, arrive late to any event, the event will most likely have not started when you finally arrive late.

16.Also, for you be a Nigerian, you also have to portray Ethnicity and tribal sentiment;Yorubas are these... Hausas are that, Igbos are those...etc

Finally, you're now a Nigerian, but learn how to scream “Do you know who I am?” when you find yourself in certain situations.

Of course, you're now a Nigerian but you still need to confirm if people truly know who you are.

Oya you can now start hurling your insults cause you all hate the truth.

Why is every Nigerian so desperate to make it? Why are we extremely materialistic? Why do we value status and titles so much? Why are certificates valued over what you can do practically?

Every Nigerian wants to make it and by making it I mean successful, of course not just Nigerians want to successful everyone wants to but ours is quite different, by hook or crack we just have to make it.
I have lived with and seen other people from other countries, and no one is so desperate to make it like we do, not even the poorer countries.
Can we blame ourselves for this? We live in the part of the world where for you to have a worth you need to have either money, status or power.

At first I thought it’s a third world thing; you know trying to have what you don’t have in abundance, but I discovered this case isn’t true for other 3rd worlderers, they want to be successful but not like a Nigerian wants to be successful. Our case of being successful is far more than just being comfortable having the good things of life, our success is aimed at having a worth and be called something in the society then oppress the next man with it that success.

How you make the money is really not important, how you spend it, yes! that is what people care about. Your pastor will pray and bless you for that tithe you paid even when he is fully aware that you must have gotten it through fraudulent means.

Every Nigerian wants to display his importance, he wants to make himself known that he is better than the next man, so it’s either you make it or you fake it.

We adore titles; Hajia this, Alhaji that, Engineer this, Elder that (even a religious title is not left out). It was in Nigerian I saw everyone want to be addressed by their title and not just their names, even non-professional courses, I once saw a man addressed as Bldg. Lagbaja, cos he’s a builder, that’s how much we attach value to status.

We have misinterpreted what respect should be, wealth has been so often ostentated leaving the poor nothing more to think about apart from getting rich at all cost. The only guarantee he has against this scorching disrespect is to be rich and then he can also look down on those below him.

On the road to making it, “enemies of progress” as we call them are waiting to prevent you from making it. Every Nigerian has an Enemy, an enemy, he often blames for the slightest downfall in his life, the enemy always preventing him from making it. He needs to make it and prove those enemies wrong.

This urge to make it at all cost has also become profitable, the smart and entrepreneur like minds in the category of ” religious institutions” have made good use of this urge. Since we are very religious and money minded people, making the process of money making religious would definitely be another oil boom, we have pastors who among the richest people in Nigeria, they made it from people who are trying to make it.

This urge goes down to the fact why motivational books are bestselling books in Nigeria; that little hope of making it needs some rekindling.

“Do you know who I am?”, a common Nigerian phrase often uses to create a status gap or bridge in any situation is something you hear often, this often doesn’t mean that the fellow is of status but the fact that the phrase creates fear and gives him a sense of importance, he screams that loud at the slightest opportunity.

In our society, respect only goes from the poor to the rich, young to old and not the other way round and never the other way around. Respect is a one-way journey and never reciprocal, you’re supposed to respect your elders and the rich

Have you seen how people talk to their staff, maids, drivers, waiters, even counter ladies in supermarkets or confectioneries?

The word “Oga” which loosely translates as boss, is word you hear too often in Nigeria, everyone has one Oga, he/she worships, and even the oga has an oga.

In George Orwell’s book- Animal farm, all animals are equal, but some are more equal, in the Nigerian scenario, all men are equal by citizen but some must be called Oga.

We often don’t know how to manage power; we abuse power and dominate the next man to injury when given the slightest opportunity. This is the reason why a soldier man will beat someone to coma and no charge will be against him, except maybe the offender is also an Oga, and common which soldier man will beat an oga, except he is more ogaish than this Oga.

You want to see a rich Nigerian man humble himself, then you should travel outside Nigeria, the man that always barks do you know who I am will be the one smiling and

What do you say of a boss that asks her employees to call her mummy, yes mummy. It sounds so ridiculous, but this is reality, not fiction. You call her mummy, since she assumes she’s old enough to be your mommy so she must be regarded as one or you lose your job and we all know how hard it is to get a job this day in Nigeria.

Anyway, I will keep writing till I “make” it too, then I can be addressed as a respectable Oga.
