i dont think 'lyricsism' has necessarily went away, its just that lyrical tracks dont have as much appeal to the MAINSTREAM audience as it used to in the 90s. In the 90s you had Nas, Pac, Biggie, Wutang, etc making hit songs/albums and the mainstream was more aware of these artists.
Today in the 2000's you still have lyrical artist like Jay Electronica, J Cole, Talib Kweli, etc. but you won't hear these guys getting their music played on 106 and Park for the most part (with the exception of J Cole)
popular music today is about catchy beats and hooks rather than raw lyrics thats why guys like Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka, Roscoe, Lil Wayne, Drake are what the mainstream media presents .

mannnn!!! this is a good topic i will never forget my first trip i took nigeria, i landed from @ lagos and we had to drive 9 hours to Ahoda on "public transport." Funny thing is we probally could of got there ALOT faster if the dumb asss police men wouldn't have stopped us every FUCKIN 20 minutes, And when they found out that i was "from abroad" they checked every fuckkin bag and found a video camera then they asked me for the reciept and i replied "i dont have one."
Then i was accused of being a "theif" because i didn't have the reciept for a fuckin camera, they held us up for at least 4 hours of straight up arguing and threatning to do this and that, finally the head officer came and released us THANK GOD,
one thing i noticed though is rivers state police are not as hostile as the other police,

Some of you people are so ignorant, you do realize that EVERYBODY (all races) came from Africa. Whites are nothing but genetic mutatations of original african black people. Same goes with Asians, if one has eyes you can clearly see they are mutations of probally khosian people, very interesting though story though.
I doubt any of the parents have a significant amount of "WHITE" ancestry.
Because that wouldnt make a difference in phenotype. For instance Don Cheadle is 20 percent white but he looks pure black to me. And genetic tests on West Africans and Nigerians proves that collectively we are very "pure" people,
if there is white ancestry it wouldnt be more than 1 or 2 percent, so white ancestry has nothing to do with it
