Four suspected kidnappers have been arraigned by a Magistrate Court sitting in Iragbiji in Osun state for allegedly killing a four years old boy, Bakare Teslim, Vanguard reports. . . Among the suspects is a 60 years old Ganiyu Abidoye, Taju Ganiyu (25), Agboola Abdulwasiu (31) and Aremu Moshood 48 were docked on Monday, October 26 by the police. According to Daily Post, one of the suspects, Aremu who is a cleric lured the victim with a biscuit to a bush where the boy was beheaded. It was learnt that the accused persons kidnapped the teenage on the October 9, at about 6.17pm at Agbelekale area in the state before deceased was beheaded with a knife . . The charge sheet read: “That you Taju Ganiyu, Aremu Moshood, Agboola Abdulwasiu and Ganiyu Abidoye on 9th October, 2015 at about 6.17pm at Agbelekale area of Iragbiji in Iragbiji Magisterial District did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit kidnapping of one Bakare Teslim, aged 4.” “That you (accused persons) on thesame day, at about 7.30pm at Okemore bush area in Iragbiji, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit murder of one Bakare Teslim.” “That you (accused persons) on the same day, time and place did unlawfully and intentionally kill one Bakare Teslim, aged 4 by beheading him with a knife.” According to the police prosecutor, Inspector Adegoke Taiwo said that the offences run contrary to and punishable under Sections 516, 364 (2), 324 and 319 (1) of the Criminal code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun state of Nigeria, 2003. . . The accused persons plea could not be taken due to the capital nature of the offences even as their lawyers, Toye Emitoma and A. Adebisi did not move for their bail. The Magistrate, Idowu Ajao has adjourned the case still December 21, while ordering that the accused persons being remanded in prison.

policemen attached to the Special Anti-Robbery
Squad (SARS) Ikeja are investigating an alleged
theft of N8million from Vice President Yemi
Osinbajo’s bank account.
It was gathered that two undergraduate students
of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka identi fied
as Ebuka Orumba and Patrick Nwafor allegedly
hacked into the account of Simmons Cooper
Partner, a law firm said to belong to Vice
President Osinbajo and allegedly stole eight
million naira (N8miilion) from it.
According to investiga tion, the undergraduates
Nwafor is a final year 500level student of Envi
ronmental Science while Orumba is a final year
Computer Engineering student.
It was gathered that the students used fraudulent
means to hack into the email of the Account man
ager of the VP’s law firm, one Mr. Tunde Irukera,
and they allegedly sent a mail to UBA PLC branch
to one Obuba Fidelia on July 2nd instructing the
bank to transfer eight mil lion naira from
Simmions Cooper Bank account to three different
bank ac counts they opened for the fraud.
It was further gathered that the undergraduates
allegedly connived with a tricycle rider one Artor
Kalu to open a bank ac count with Zenith bank ac­
count number 2086943174 where three million
naira (N3,000,000) was trans ferred to with the
false name Engineer Asukwo Okoro.
The remaining amounts were said to have been
transferred to two other unnamed bank accounts.
Luck however ran out on the undergraduates
when their alleged gang member, Mr. Kalu went
to the Zenith bank account at Mushin to withdraw
the N3,000,000 but was nabbed by detectives
from SARS following a tip off from the bank.
The police subsequent ly arrested Kalu and
following his statement, the police arrested
Orumba but Nwafor escaped.
Following the investigation, the police discovered
that Kalu with the help of others got a fake
Driver’s license which he used to open the Zenith
Bank account.
The police has since charged Orumba and Kalu to
court on a 5 count charge on conspiracy, stealing
and fraud while efforts is on to arrest Nwafor
whom the others claimed to be the master mind
of the fraud.

A suicide bomber killed six people in Maiduguri, northeast Nigeria, on Friday, the country’s National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said. The agency said at least 17 other people were injured and taken to hospital after the blast at a mosque during early morning prayers. The attack was the sixth time this month that Maiduguri has been hit by suicide bombers, underscoring concerns about the safety of civilians from Boko Haram Islamists. On October 1, a wave of suicide and bomb attacks left 10 dead in the Ajilari Cross area of the city, which was hit again on October 13, killing four. On October 15, two suicide bombers hit a mosque in Molai, on the outskirts of Maiduguri, killing 30. The following day, three bombers also struck just before morning prayers in nearby Umarari. Four people were killed. Last weekend, soldiers foiled a suspected suicide bomb attack at the city’s main army base, shooting dead a woman who failed to stop at a checkpoint. Friday’s attack fits into a grim pattern of targeting places of worship and the use of multiple bombers to maximise civilian casualties. NEMA said the latest strike “was carried out by a suspected lone suicide bomber whose two accomplices escaped, when some vigilant members of the community accosted them”. It was not immediately clear if the accomplices were also carrying explosives. The injured were taken to the Borno State Specialist Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital for treatment, according to a statement. Nigeria’s military has claimed a series of successes against Boko Haram, recapturing territory seized by the militants last year, as well as the mass surrender of fighters. Senior officers have characterised the increase in suicide bombings against “soft” targets as a sign of the group’s desperation. The former governor of Akwa Ibom state and Senate minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has returned to the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for more question after Friday’s alleged arrest and eventual release. According to Channels Television, a source close to the EFCC says that Senator Akpabio returned to the EFCC at about 10am on Saturday, October 17. The former governor was accompanied by his counsel and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Rikey Tarfa and some aides. Premium Times reports that as soon as the former governor arrived at the commission, he was moved into the interrogation room, a source said.
