Malama Hawwa’u Jamilu, 24, is excited with her newborn twins. She has been engaged in fervent prayers, and she was safely delivered of twins on Sunday, 25th February, 2018. However, the joy that greeted the birth was shortened. The local nurses that delivered the twins noticed that one of them was born with four hands and three legs. Like wildfire, the news spread into the community and people began to troop to Kabiru Kafinta’s house, where Hawwa’u and family are residing, to see things for themselves. Strangely, Hawwa’u was not perturbed about the physique of her baby. She told Daily Trust that she regarded it as part of the might of Allah. “Both of them are female. Of course, one would have loved to deliver the babies without any deformity. But since Allah in His infinite mercy had decided to create the twins like this, what can I do? This is why you see me relaxed, and I love them both.” The only peculiar behaviour exhibited by the deformed twin, is a big appetite. “Apart from that,” Hawwa’u said, “she is normal like any other baby. Have you forgotten that I carried her in my womb for nine months? I love my daughter and I know that she is human, despite her physical challenge.” Hawwa’u said she has given birth three times before now, making the twins her fourth delivery during her six years of marriage. Similarly, Hawwa’u said she doesn’t attend ante-natal sessions, saying that she delivered her other children at home, same as the twins. “I think the problem is not failure to visit the hospital, because the twins are not my first. As I said earlier, it is just the will of Allah. I gave birth three times, and I have not experienced anything like this. This is the will of Allah and there is nothing one can do about it,” she said. Daily Trust learnt that when the deformity was discovered, the babies were taken to hospital for examination. It was learnt that the case cannot be handled by a local hospital, but by a tertiary one. A doctor at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Dr. Umar Abdul’aziz, said the extra leg and hands can be removed and the little girl can have a normal life. He added: “There is nothing to worry about. It is a case that can be handled by experts after certain investigations. It is however advisable for all pregnant women to be attending ante-natal for their health and that of their unborn babies. Many things can be detected during ante-natal that would assist in safe delivery and correction of abnormalities. It is not proper at this period of the world’s development for somebody to decide to ignore ante-natal and be giving birth at home.” As Hawwa’u continues to nurse her twins, she is optimistic that the baby will grow up to be “a special person in life.”

A hospital has been caught in a difficult situation after a weird tattoo was found on the chest of a man who was already unconscious.

A man's 'do not resuscitate' tattoo forced Miami emergency doctors to confront the ethical conflict between a patient's wishes and a doctor's duty.
The 70-year-old man was unconscious and presumably drunk, given his elevated blood-alcohol level, when paramedics brought him to the emergency room.
His pulse slowed to a worrying rate, and the doctors decided to try to save him any way, but were getting no responses, according to a case study published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
After consulting with ethicists, the doctors decided to respect the man's tattoo, but the quandary made them aware of the need for an updated system of tracking patients' end of life wishes.
Paramedics brought the senior to the University of Miami hospital emergency room after finding him on the street.
The man had alcohol in his system and couldn't be roused, but none of that was terribly unusual.
'Unfortunately, we get a lot of that kind of patient at my hospital,' says Dr Greg Holt, one of the doctors who treated the man.
The man's tattoo was, however, unique enough to draw Dr Holt, who was the attending physician that night, and his entire team of eight down to the emergency to see what the fuss was all about.
The man a signed 'do not resuscitate' on his chest, with a line under the 'not' for emphasis.
'We always kind of joked around about doing that. A lot of physicians say "Boy, I'm going to have that tattooed on my chest so everyone knows my status." Then you see it and...holy crap,' says Dr Holt.
The team's first concern was legality.
Tattoos are not legally-binding DNR orders. In fact, says Dr Holt, there are very specific requirements for legal orders in Florida.
'It has to be on yellow paper, both the doctor and the patient have to have signed it...it doesn't say anything about tattoos.'
DNR orders are protected by medical privacy laws, so it's unclear how many people have them, but about 80 percent of Americans with chronic illnesses reported that they did not want to be hospitalized or put into intensive care if they were dying.
People who want DNRs have to fill out standard forms with their doctors, then DNR is written on the medical chart, and they can get bracelets or wallet cards showing their status. These wishes are usually reiterated in a will.
Dr Holt's patient blood pressure dipped dangerously low. Dr Holt and his team decided that it was better not to risk the outcome that could not be undone: death.
Walking a fine line, they gave the patient IV fluids, antibiotics, and 'some medications to keep his blood pressure up, which some people would consider resuscitation,' says Dr Holt. 'If I knew that he was no code, I would have put him on a breathing machine,' Dr Holt adds.
But with a tattoo, 'I always kind of thought people might regret it later on, you get drunk, you get it when you were a kid, you wish you didn't, but what can you do?' says Dr Holt.
In fact, in another case study, a doctors discovered a tattoo reading 'D.N.R.' on the chest of a diabetic man in the hospital for a leg amputation. When his doctors asked about the ink, the man said that it was the opposite of his wishes.
The patient, a hospital worker had lost a bet when he was younger, agreed to the tattoo but, according to the case study, 'did not think anyone would take his tattoo seriously.'
Dr Holt says his patient's tattoo seemed quite different.
The hospital's ethics team came to consult with the doctors, and together they decided that the tattoo most likely did represent the patient's true wishes. For one, the man's apparent signature was included.
Dr Holt also says the placement of the tattoo mattered. 'It was exactly where you would have to do chest compression, the guy had to have had some knowledge of the medical system,' he says.
But really, the team was confronting a deeper question.
'One way is to say "we don't know [his wishes] so forget [the tattoo]". The other way is to say we are being too dogmatic,' says Dr Holt.
He says that 'it's really hard for patients to have their end of life wishes known,' and this man, he and the ethics team concluded, had taken matters upon himself, literally.
Luckily, two hours later, they found documentation confirming that the tattoo was correct and the man had signed a DNR order.
The patient took a turn for the worse, and the doctors let him go, but it was a wake up call to Dr Holt.
DNR orders are still on paper, and just as the man could have changed his mind after getting his tattoo, patients may change their minds before having an opportunity to change their resuscitation status.
'It’s a concern for both physicians and patients because you want to do right by someone and if you don’t know, you do everything you can think of because we always pick the reversible choice, not the one you can’t take back when faced with uncertainty,' he says.

A Turkish diplomat, Abdulkadir Erkahraman, has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari for allegedly killing members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

Erkahraman, who took to his Facebook page, said that the president was eating and drinking the blood of his own people, adding that the Muslim religion does not allow such an act.

He further claimed that if Buhari does not engage in a peaceful negotiation with the Biafra agitators, he will be killed by the “Biafran Army” one day.

The Diplomat, who recently visited Kanu at his country home in Afarau Ukwu in Umuahia, the Abia State capital warned that Buhari will be killed soon by “Biafran Army.”

“Some women’s vaginas may naturally smell stronger than others – and all of this is completely normal,” experts say.

However, there are some things a woman’s nether regions can smell like that can be a bit off – and can be a sign of a health issue. The following are the five smells you need to look out for:

1. It smells like … yeast. While yeast infections don’t often smell, if you notice a thick, cottage cheese-like discharge, this could be a sign of infection. Your v**ina will also be itchy and could be red. So, it’s best to see a doctor.

2. It smells … musky. If you have exercised recently or are wearing non-breathable underwear, this can cause a musky scent from the trapped sweat. This should go away once you have a shower; but to minimise the scent, don’t sit around in sweaty clothes.

3. It smells like … fish. If it smells like you brought the fish market home with you, this is the most common scent that points towards bacterial vaginosis. This is the most common vaginal infection in women between ages 15 and 44. It occurs when the v**ina’s pH levels are thrown off by an overgrowth of “bad” bacteria – but it’s not a sexually transmitted disease and is mostly harmless.

4. It smells … metallic. This one is no cause for concern, as it will generally happen when a woman gets her period. Blood can change the pH levels of a v**ina and make it smell coppery. This odour should pass once the period ends. Avoid scented soaps, as this will throw off your pH balance even more.

5. It smells … rotten. This would normally happen if a tampon has accidentally been left in for a few days or more. If you can’t get the tampon out yourself, head to the doctor and they can get it out for you. However, something to be wary of is toxic shock syndrome which is a fatal condition linked to the tampon being left in for too long, Daily Star says.

Men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Command have arrested a 24-year-old most wanted armed robber in the state, notoriously known as Zidane.

A 24-year-old most wanted armed robber identified as, Somadina Uzoho, popularly known as Zidane, has been finally apprehended by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Command led by its Commander, Godfrey Victor.

While speaking to a Punch newspaper correspondent on Tuesday, a police source said Zidane, a dropout from the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, had escaped to Ghana in 2012 after allegedly engaging in deadly criminal operations, and had been on the wanted list of the command for a very long time.

The source said, “He was arrested in Egbu in the Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State on July 28 following intelligence information.

“We equally picked his accomplices from various locations. The gang was a group of cultists belonging to the Vikings Confraternity from the Imo State University, Federal Polytechnic, Nekede and some street touts.

“They were responsible for the killing of a police inspector, one Inspector Offor, sometime ago. Zidane was involved in an armed robbery at Royce in the state capital. He and another suspect escaped while two others that were caught were set ablaze by the people.”

It was gathered that Zidane, who claimed that he was a footballer, shot a member of the Aye Confraternity following a disagreement between his cult and the rival cult members.

“The town is calm now following their arrest. People are happy with the development. They rob students of their phones on a daily basis; they carry out their lawless operations at funerals.

“He (Zidane) doesn’t waste time in shooting because of his diminutive stature. If you underrate him, he fires immediately,” the source stated, adding that Stanley Ofia, Ike, Uchenna and Ayiam were picked in connection with the crime at different places while others were being trailed.

Zidane, who said that he was tired of committing crime, explained that he had escaped to Ghana in 2012 when the heat became too much on him, adding that his absconding to Ghana made him to lose his studentship at the Federal Polytechnic, Nekede.

He, however, denied committing murder, but acknowledged that he shot one rival cult member when there was an inter-cult clash between the warring groups.

Confirming the breakthrough, the state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, said, “We are mopping up; we are cleaning the town. We are making huge breakthroughs. The whistle-blowing policy of the command is working perfectly well.”

A 19-year-old boy has butchered four men with a sharp machete, causing serious injuries to them.

Emmanuel Adi aka Oboy Emma, the suspect, also butchered a dog belonging to one of his victims.

The suspect, a senior high school (SHS) graduate, also butchered himself with the same sharp machete after the heinous act.

It is suspected that Oboy Emma was under the influence of some illegal substance like Tramadol, which got him intoxicated.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday afternoon around 12:30pm at Ayokoa in the Adanse North District of Ashanti Region.

The victims were identified as Kojo Ampong, 85; Evans Amponsem, 23; Akwasi Nyansah aka Mfante, 76, and John Atta, 45.

They were initially rushed to the New Edubiase Government Hospital, where they were referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

Oboy Emma, who also suffered serious head injuries, is also receiving treatment at the New Edubiase Government Hospital under police watch.

Chuku Joseph, an eyewitness, told the paper that residents of Ayokoa went for a communal labour on that fateful day.

After returning, he revealed that John Atta was relaxing in his room and suddenly, he heard his dog barking, alerting him that his dog had been attacked.

To John Atta’s horror, he came out of his room to see his dog totally butchered by Oboy Emma, who was then holding two sharp-looking machetes.

Before John Atta could ask Oboy Emma about why he attacked the dog, the suspect also started butchering him with full force.

John Atta sustained serious stomach injuries as he was also stabbed. Oboy Emma then left the house and butchered three more people.

The suspect, who was acting strangely, then rushed to a faulty bus, which was parked in the area and started hitting his head into it.

Oboy Emma also hit his head with the machete, causing serious head injuries to him.

He was eventually overpowered by people at the scene and handed over to the police to start investigations into the strange case
