PoliticsBREAKING: NLC Declares Indefinite Warning Strike Over Minimum Wage by Echatbook(op):
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has declared the starting of an indefinite warning strike to press the Buhari administration to adopt a new minimum wage for workers.

The strike will start Wednesday morning.

Its sister labour group, the Trade Union Congress, had earlier on Tuesday announced it would begin strike from the early hours of Thursday, following the federal government’s failure to honour its ultimatum on the new minimum wage.

Both unions had earlier said the organised labour’s demand to reconvene a tripartite committee on the national minimum wage for workers was not met, and that the leaders have cautioned the federal government against foot-dragging on the new minimum wage.

Last Thursday, the NLC resolved to commence an indefinite nationwide strike after the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum given to the federal government which will elapse Wednesday.

In a press statement Wednesday, signed by the NLC General Secretary, Peter Ozo-Eson, the congress resolved that the strike commence in the midnight of Wednesday.

“Representatives of organized labour, after due consultation and meetings, have therefore agreed that all unions and our Civil society allies should embark on a warning strike from midnight of Wednesday, 26th September, 2018,” the statement said.

“All affiliates and state councils are therefore expected to mobilize their members nationwide to ensure total compliance.”

“The nationwide warning strike will remain in force until further directives are conveyed,” the release read.

Few days back i saw some people requesting for newspaper public api if there's any and I made a comment that I will work on something and would share it soon, well good news is am sharing it now.
So Basically I named the api Paper Admin and to make use of the api you need to be registered on the site here: http://paperadmin.publicapi.com.ng where you can now create site and be given a token.
There are two ways to make use of the api and I will recommend the first one, which is webhook. The video below will talk more on that and if you have any questions kindly request here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoTQQnFllbE&t=35s

Simply by using webhook automatically the news sources you subcribed too whenever there's a new post there it will be posted to your hook url to do whatever you want to do with the post details.

Now the second video shows how to make use of the Wordpress Plugin

 //give te script time to execute
ini_set("max_execution_time", 200);

$portRange = range(0, 1023);
$host = "127.0.0.1";

print "<p>The scan results for $host is:</p>";
//execute the scan
foreach ($portRange as $port) {
if ($result = @fsockopen($host, $port, $errNo, $errString, 1)) {
$service = getservbyport($port, 'tcp');
print "Socket open at port $port, with <em><strong>$service</strong></em> service <br />";
}
} //end loop

The code above works just fine because wrote '@' beside the fsockopen() function. Removing the '@' produces error as seen in the screen shots. Why is the @ compulsory? what it actually does?

Thanks in anticipation of your replies.
Basically using the @sign will cause all php warnings not to be shown for that particular function.

EventsGeniushub Tech Meetup by Echatbook(op):
Genius Hub held a tech meet up yesterday (27 May, 2017) at ADESCADES, beside Yesade Hotel, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. There has been questions asked about what Genius Hub is all about? A perfect answer was given by the co-founder of Genius HUB, Mr. Awonuga Sheriff (Software Engineer). He said and I quote;

" Genius HUB is known to be a community of developers, web designers, graphic designers, Idea givers, Tech lovers, Social media managers, digital marketers and many other tech professionals coming together to provide their skills and knowledge as a service to make the world a better place. "

The Genius HUB tech meet up commenced at exactly 11am. The opening prayer was led by Miss Omowunmi Fawole (aspiring digital marketer). The introduction speech was said by the co-founder, Mr. Awonuga Sheriff (CEO Genius HUB, Software Engineer). He lectured the attendees on what Genius HUB is all about and also gave motivational speech to all attendees and why it is important they should be part of the HUB.

The Co-founder also talked about startup support, how to be creative and how you can possibly come up with tech ideas without stressing it out. He also talked about technologies that attracts the HUB’s interest. He made mention of IOT (Internet of Things), graphics design, A.I, Web Development, Video Editing to mention few.

He also recognized the presence of some important personnel to the HUB, in person of Ishola Adebayo (Google Representative), Rasak Awonuga (Graphic Designer), Sule Odu (Programmer), Bada Gabriel (Front-end developer), Tallest (CEO Owl-media) and so many more of them.

Then the event took an interesting turn when the interesting game of Kahoot was introduced. The game was won by Salako Teslim (Programmer), one of the attendees but his win was nullified for some reasons, so the first runner-up(Ademola Toyyib) was declared winner and goes home with a #500 recharge card.

Mr. Abdul Aziz Muraino (Mobile App Developer) enlightened the attendees about some tech terminologies that almost the whole crowd knows nothing about. Some of these were: Firebase, Cloud Services, Backend Development, to mention few. He explained every term with simplicity for all attendees to have more knowledge of what the tech terms are. He talked about how to integrate firebase into mobile app and web app, How to use firebase infrastructure to ease the stress of development… Cloud messaging,cloud hosting, test lab for testing Android apps etc.

Then Mr. Ishola Adebayo gave the attendees a presentation about digital marketing. He introduced the attendees to the ongoing Google digital skills training, and the benefits of digital marketing. He directed all attendees interested in digital marketing to take a course with google digital marketing training. (https://digitalmarketing.withgoogle.com)

Then there was another game session… This time it was more interesting. Mr. Teslim Salako won the round and also got #500 recharge card.

A presentation about personal branding was given from Mr. Ashiwaju Bada. Where he showcased his logo and personal brand. And also enlightened the crowd about being a professional graphic designer.

But the program actually took an amazing turn when Mr. Ismail started talking about Internet marketing.. That actually got interest from a lot of people.. He explained to the attendees how they can make money through the Internet, using affiliate marketing, digital marketing etc. He shared his experience of how he made so much on the internet without being a professional in any programming or web designing. He talked about how money can be made from marketing your work or other people’s work on the Internet.

"GAMING EVENT TOOK PLACE AGAIN and was won by Salako Teslim again which he voluntarily decided to pass the win over to the first runner-up in person of Abdul-Salam Mistura".

The program was finally brought to an end by Mr. Muraino Abdul Aziz who gave the closing speech.

Oh!!!… I forgot the menu! menu!! menu!!! part

All in all… It was an interesting event…. Below are Images from the event:
