In fact, I’m pretty sure you will still get butterflies watching the old love films and expecting the same in real life. Basically, they have practised better dating habits than adult these days. For example, to propose a girl in a restaurant is way sweeter than to just text her. Perhaps, sending her dozens of roses pulls off better as an apology than sending her a text message. Texts and expensive gifts are pretty much ordinary these days, so why don't we try some old fashioned style of dating. So, here are the 10 old fashioned dating habits that should make a comeback.

When you're in a relationship, you owe it yourself to stay in tune with your inner voice. This instinct or sixth sense if you may, is a guide you can count on. After all, when it comes down to it, you are responsible for your own happiness and wellbeing. A relationship should not leave you feeling inadequate, annoyed and depressed, if it does then perhaps, it's time to move on. Yes it will be painful and no one wants to feel that they have failed the relationship but sometimes, it's necessary. Here are 11 signs that you should take a break: 1. Talk less, argue more When frustration takes over in the relationship, things are not going to solve by itself when everything he does annoy you. As you sulk and seethe in resentment, you're just going to slowly withdraw from him and stop talking altogether. It's a painful demise that is waiting to happen. Remember this, without real communication you have nothing to sustain the love you might once have felt for each other. 2. Insecurity If his actions or mannerism gives you the feelings of uncertainty and nervousness even after 18 months of dating, there's a good reason why the internal alarm is ringing loudly. Your relationship should not caused you sleepless nights where it worries you that you might not be good enough or he's just taking you for a ride. For the relationship to work, there should be a level of commitment from both partners. 3. Incompatibility Yes, opposites attract but it is also as important for partners to share at least some degree of the same interest. If you like a clean apartment and he lives like a slob, it is most likely that one or both of you are going to feel unhappy about the other person's habit or lifestyle. You have a better chance of cultivating a successful and loving relationship when you both share similar goals, beliefs or values. 4. Spending less time together There are certain cycles in life where we're busy and our relationship have to share the same spotlight as our job or personal issue. But if he hardly makes time for the both of you anymore or you, yourself, are not willing to invest your time, then there is a problem here. You're not each other's priority any longer and without real effort, you give little chance for the two of you to grow into an understanding partnership. 5. Self-esteem tumbles When you're in love with someone, he or she should bring out the best in you. Your partner encourages you to better yourself and makes you feel more alive and confident. But if it feels like you have to put on a mask or he doesn't have anything nice to say about you, it can take a beating on your self-esteem in the long run. As a couple, you should be able to make one another feel respected, loved and worthwhile. 6. I love you, not Those three words don't come easily. Worst, the L-word is carelessly thrown around today that you can't tell if he's being serious or just trying to get into your knickers. Right here's the thing, even if there's chemistry, when that person can't express their love with enough conviction and affectionate gestures, chances are neither of you would be convinced or happy because it's never enough and you'll always be second guessing. You have just met her once at friend’s party, both of you instantly connected and you managed to get her number. To you, love is in the air, but wait! As a gentlemen, what should you do next? This dating checklist will guide you through pre-date preparation and during-date dos and don’ts. Pre-date checklist Find a decent eating place that is appropriate to have a conversation. The presence of continuous live music or loud noise will interrupt conversation and is not appropriate if you intent to have a good uninterrupted chat. Clean and safe ambiance is important for ladies. Finalising an eating place can also be done upon mutual agreement. Go through your wardrobe. When was the last time you shopped for new clothes? If you have not shopped for clothes for the past 12 months, chances are, most of your clothes are either worn out or they have never left your wardrobe at all. Furthermore, without dehumidifiers in your wardrobe, your light coloured clothes may have already developed yellow stains due to humidity and your dark colours clothes may have whitish dots. None of these clothes are appropriate to be worn out, especially not to a date! Personal hygiene is utmost important. The biggest turn-off is when men appear with unruly hair and messy facial hair, strong body odour, strong perfume smell and bad breath. Get yourself groomed - a spa package is certainly good, be prepared at least a few days before your date. During-date checklist Wear fresh and well-pressed attire appropriate to the eating venue. Choose friendlier colours like pastel collared shirt, dress shirt. If you have to wear a suit, you can wear grey or black over a pastel dress shirt with polished shoes. If you have to wear casuals, do not wear torn jeans and flip-flops. Wear dark blue or black jeans with collared shirt and good clean pair of shoes. Get-out from your house or where ever you are coming from much early. Anticipate gridlocks if you are around Klang Valley. You don’t want to be late; you need to be the gentlemen to arrive earlier than your lady. Being early, say 10-15 minutes, is a way of making a good first impression. Depending on the restaurant, you might want to wait for her at the waiting corner near the entrance, if not, you may proceed to the table. When she arrives, acknowledge, relax and be composed. When she arrives, you have to stand if you already seating, smile and have a firm handshake (if appropriate). Be aware of personal space - try not to stand too close or sit to near to her. Pull the chair for her (if appropriate). Be aware of your verbal communication. As much as you want to know her, do not go into asking about her personal life during the first date. Be easy going and have a casual conversation. Be alert on her answers – find clues whether she is comfortable or not with the topic of conversation. Have a chat about neutral topics or one that both of you have in common (you should have done some fact-finding about her, like hobby that you both share.) Use appropriate words only. And most importantly, speak ill of no man. Be aware of your non-verbal communication. Apply dining etiquette – learn if you do not know. Be aware of your negative non-verbal communication. The examples of negative non-verbal communications are frequent touch on the nose while conversing (a signal that you are unsure or lying), frowning communicates that you are confused or that you feel uncomfortable. Prof. Abletor Sedofia from University of Ghana. "Academic excellence is overrated! Did I just say that? Oh, yes, I said it. Being top of your class does not necessarily guarantee that you will be at the top of life. You could graduate as the best student in Finance but it doesn't mean you will make more money than everybody else. The best graduating Law student does not necessarily become the best lawyer. The fact is life requires more than the ability to understand a concept, memorise it and reproduce it in an exam. School rewards people for their memory. Life rewards people for their imagination. School rewards caution, life rewards daring. School hails those who live by the rules. Life exalts those who break the rules and set new ones. So do I mean people shouldn't study hard in school? Oh, no, you should. But don't sacrifice every other thing on the altar of First Class. Don't limit yourself to the classroom. Do something practical. Take a leadership position. Start a business and fail. That's a better Entrepreneurship 101.Join or start a club. Contest an election and lose. It will teach something Political Science 101 will not teach you. Attend a seminar. Read books outside the scope of your course. Go on missions and win a soul for eternal rewards... Do something you believe in! Think less of becoming an excellent student but think more of becoming an excellent person. Make the world your classroom!" Saw this and thought i should share it with you http://alayeblog.com/post.php?p=176 |
