I am Igbo from Ihitte Uboma in Imo State. I was born and brought up in Imo State but I have spent a long time in Lagos, Yoruba land. I married in Lagos here and raised all my kids here, so I am a citizen.

Yorubas are really kind-hearted. They have a large heart and treat everyone with love and respect. Just so sad their kindness is taken for granted by children of perdition.

Gowon's assertion is wrong.

We have two problems:

1. Nigeria has money problems because we don't make enough in comparison with our huge Population. Simply put; Nigeria is poor.

2. Majority of the money we make is stolen and we don't spend the little remaining wisely.

Igbos used to have at least 1-2 seats. 2023 elections really divided us in the South-West. Reason why Yoruba states are now on an aggressive defensive mode.

Bringing the best brains on board irrespective of your ethnic background is what made SW what it is today. While some cheer this news, it is also bad news for us in the long term if we think about it critically.

That cosmopolitan thinking and ideas the region had is probably gone forever. A sad reality 😢
