I don't think any other school could afford what UI is worth now for the next 10years

josboy4life.what other criteria do you want us to use.or do you prefer us talking like people with no intellect by arguing without factual reasons? Maybe that was practice during the stone age but i am certainly  sure not now.
Even with the NUC criteria,UI has been listed as the #1 school in Nigeria(2004 and2005),and almost all the time it's been listed as the best in academics.what other position do you expect when the school produces over 40% of the nation's PHD-therefore the richest in international research output.
With the aforementioned aside,if the the world(the international community) could consider those criteria fit,who are you to say otherwise.
It might not be perfect, but there are rich elements of truth in its methods.
Just hope you're not arguing in support of "baby UI", I mean Unijos.cos I could see some similarities.

Maki let's not forget the topic at hand.My dad schooled at uniport, but you know what ?he says all the good things that were said by some of your profs.about UI.I shouldn't be comparing uniport and UI because they don't even match,I should only give way to UNN and IFE which offcourse are not as good as UI(my criteria are academics, organization and global facts).i guess it's high time we started talking like intellectuals on line to prove our point.I studied biochemistry in UI,what did you study?ha ha ha.don't be scared like most student do when they meet UITES in a quiz competition.
EducationRe: The Best University In Nigeria? by EdehOnos(m): 4:37pm On Jun 30, 2006
Dranoel, please don't talk too much about unijos-that's 'baby UI'.The school has most of the connection it has today because of the influence of UI.In the world rating you guys came out 5th in Nigeria.Anyway,I am happy for your school because it reflects allot about UI.IN case you do not know the history of your school let me know so I would tutor you on that.Unijos sees UI not only as a role model but as a father(basic fact)-you guys follow our steps, but remember the okra can not grow taller than its owner.
EducationRe: The Best University In Nigeria? by EdehOnos(m): 3:09am On Jun 30, 2006
UI is the best in Niger based on facts and general opinions.
For God's sake, the sch is rated almost each year as the best in academics by the NUC.The recent world rating also proved it.
Also,UI produces over 40% of the nations PHD graduates.if you don't have facts please keep quiet instead of reflecting your school's inability to teach student to argue with facts.
Please!!!!!!!do not mention unizik again,I haven't heard anything good about that glorified secondary school before

GEOJPLAU why do you find it hard to make good use of info.all i could say to you is to go back and check the website I provided in my last posts and get yourself more educated.didn't  you read what Pfowighz said in his last mail?or didn't you see the quote your VC made which he also included.he must be a very smart student if not for anything, for been able to interpret info  .Once again all these info are in the website I provided you.UI came out first in Nigeria on that same rating your school,Lautech came 3rd.Again go to that site and obtain info for absorption otherwise one might just conclude that your poor assimilation is just a reflection of your school.
UI law school was temporarily faulted the same way some courses were in your school, even with that UI came out 1st,so what's your point? shocked shocked shocked
For your info.,UI produces over 45% of PhD. graduates while the remaining 55% is shared by the rest of Nigeria Universities . tongue tongue tongue tongue do you want more facts about this?because i would give it to you.
Take this as a food in your brain,UI is not the best because it was rated 1st by Nuc once,it is the best because on the average,it comes out as the #1 school.
You can't even compare your school to Great Ife,Nsuka,Unilag ,Uniben,Abu,Unijos to mention a few. your school only came 3rd because it's a very small school not even comparable to UI's Agric faculty that has over 100 profs."Abi you think say we no know all these things"?for your info, I was a Zikite so I can feed you with info until you're full.
YOUR VC.PLEASE CHECK THE SITE BELOW TO COMFIRM:
This university is only about 15 years old, so it very young and it is still developing. You can not compare LAUTECH with University of Ibadan, for instance, where all the infrastucture more or less are in place and what they need to do is to maintain these facilities. This is still a growing university and because of that we still need much money for development and that is why we are planning for the endowment fund, so that we can put in place what we need for the university to accomplish aims and objectives.

But before you  seek the help of a shrink , take a look at a site that might help you:check the 9th paragraph.

that's one of the Nigerian schools that is over populated
NUC: For example, the total enrolment in Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU) and Lagos State University (LASU) were more than the combined enrolment of the first generation universities of Ibadan, Ife, Lagos and Nsukka.

Eastcoast please provide references for us to use, you're not talking with kids.Give factual materials and refs. then you'll get me convinced. The answer to your question is that it takes allot more than diving into moloe buses and dietary modification to improve your cardiovascular endurance or do you want to tell me vegetarians with no exercise are best fit?I don't think so.Good exercise,I insist is a major requirement to be physically fit.

HealthRe: Exercise And Life Expectancy by EdehOnos(op): 12:02am On Jun 21, 2006
Eastcoast Where did you get that info from that many Nigerians have superior rating in cardiovascular/respiratory endurance?please share with us so we would be better informed.I think that assumption is an erroneous one probably as a result of fallacy of hasty generalization.Do more research on a  very wide scale, then I would be convinced provided you provide your source of info. You talked of modification of diet.that is true but again that alone will not do the job, besides how many people in Niger do you think could afford the expenses
Can you tell me why you think they should modify their diet,I mean what are the biochemical/medical modifications you think that would do that exercise can't influence.

HealthRe: Exercise And Life Expectancy by EdehOnos(op): 6:10pm On Jun 20, 2006
I don't think jumping into the moloe bus is an excuse not to get involved in exercise. If we consider that to be enough, how come it was said recently that the life expectancy of the average Nigeria has dropped to somewhere around forty something.I would check to give you the precise figure.
We know there are other factors, but the positive influence of exercise I think can not be overemphasized.
Besides been just overweight, there are other cardiovascular complications that go with it.

CultureRe: Is English Our Native Language In Nigeria by EdehOnos(m): 1:30am On Jun 20, 2006
OK,English is not our native language in Nigeria but an official language. And I do not think there is any country in Africa that has English as it's native language.
The native languages we have in Nigeria include:Yoruba,Ibo,Hausa,Ijaws,Urhobo etc.
There's another language in Nigeria called Gousa,it is an official language authored by Mr. Alex Igbineweka,a native of Edo.This language has gained global acceptance as exemplified by it's recognition at THE American Heritage University in San Bernadine Southern California USA, which included the Guosa Language Certificate programme in its academic syllabus
Gousa language is made of chunks of several Nigeria languages.
Don't you guys think Pigeon English should gain similar acceptance?
