Not all governments can be trusted to use that kind of power responsibly especially ones that openly threaten to wipe out other nations, like Iran has done with Israel. That’s why there are global rules to limit who can have them. It’s not perfect, but it helps prevent a nuclear disaster.

Right now, it is a very good detterent to bad behaviour and I think it will do everyone a lot of good if they actually used these nuclear weapons on themselves. Natural selection will take them out of the gene pool.
