Romance › Re: See Why I Told My Friend To Cancel His Wedding And Look For Another Girl by EDGEof2MORO: 4:04am On Jun 08, 2025 |
Nifemy4: I have known peter now for over a decade. The rest of us amongst his pool of friends womanize a lot , but Peter. He is a straightforward, loyal and steadfast handsome guy to the core. His discipline when it comes to women is second to none. i secretly admire his his resolve and firmness when it come come to chasing big bum like the rest of us, especially Seyi, Emmanuel and me----the group leader when it comes to big bum affairs.
Two years ago , during a cool evening hangout with the boys,i had just finished my own bottle of small stout, when Peter hit us all like a Russian missile, the news of his intention to get married to girlfriend Amara.
boom.. the silence that befell the meeting was deafening. i looked at seyi, seyi looked at emma with our eyes widely opened envicing shock and surprises at the same time. well, honestly , i am not supposed to gawk in shock , i always knew peter to be a one way serious fellow . he loved the girl and he never cheated, nor ever flirted with any other. at least we all know all our secrets.
"i intend to set up a business for her, and i budget about 10m for it "these were his words. he opted for a hair(wig)niche for her somewhere around unilag Akoka.
i was miffed and skeptical at the same time. To my mind ,i felt peter never know all this naija lagos babes, they go show you colour wey no dey for crayon soon. but again, he's about to get married to her in months to come aso, it's no effort in futility i persuaded myself to take a chill pill.
He handed over 5m to her at first to scout for the shop and initiate the importation of a few hairs from Vietnam as she claimed.
2 months later, peter who traveled down to the south East in preparation for the traditional marriages that was to come up in august 2024 .arrived lagos..
"Amara, how far with the 5m , how far have you gone with the search" behold. her response was heart stopping and could break sweat from the skin a person living in iceland.
our dear future sister in law allegedly bought an iphone 15 pro max from the money and could barely account for the rest.
I convinced peter to let go off her. she will end up being a liability , which was his greatest fear . cool story bro |
Romance › Re: “if We're Partners, Why Am I Paying All The Bills?” by EDGEof2MORO: 4:01am On Jun 08, 2025 |
Dpsychologist: There is an Unspoken Frustration of Modern Men
“If we’re partners, why am I the only one paying all the bills?”
This question doesn’t come from greed. It doesn’t come from bitterness. It comes from exhaustion.
In a world where relationships are marketed as equal partnerships, too many men are realizing they’re carrying the entire load—financially, emotionally, and sometimes even logistically. All in the name of “being a man.”
But how fair is that, really?
Let’s dig deep into the hypocrisy, expectations, and emotional toll behind this simple but powerful question.
💑 The Myth of Equal Partnership in an Unequal Economy
We live in an era where women are more empowered than ever. They earn degrees. They run businesses. They vote. They drive. They have the choice to pursue careers or stay at home.
And yet—when it comes to who pays the bills, many still revert to old-school expectations:
“The man is the provider.”
Wait…what?
You can’t preach gender equality on one hand and demand traditional privilege on the other.
If we’re truly partners, the responsibility to build the home should be shared—not dumped on one person.
🧾 The Reality of One-Sided Provision
Let’s be honest about what it means when only one person pays all the bills:
Stress: One person constantly worries about rent, food, utility bills, car maintenance, kids’ school fees, and emergencies.
Resentment: Over time, the provider begins to feel used, especially if their efforts are not reciprocated emotionally or practically.
Burnout: They may work long hours or take multiple jobs, sacrificing their health and mental well-being.
Imbalance of Power: Ironically, some partners who don’t contribute financially still want to be “50-50” in all decisions.
It’s not just about the money—it’s about effort, respect, and equity.
💬 When “Support” Means Watching From the Sidelines
Many partners—especially in modern dating—say:
“I support you emotionally.” “I cook sometimes.” “I clean, I’m present, I’m loyal.”
That’s good. But here’s the reality:
If bills aren’t emotional, your contribution can’t just be emotional.
You can’t hug a landlord instead of paying rent.
You can’t cook love for NEPA to give you light.
Support should be multi-dimensional. It should stretch across finances, emotional encouragement, domestic contributions, and shared responsibilities.
Being in a relationship where one person is the ATM and the other is a “life coach” is not partnership—it’s imbalance.
🧠 What the “All Bills Must Be Paid by the Man” Mentality Really Does
Let’s strip the filters and IG captions.
This mindset:
1. Devalues Men Emotionally: If all a man is good for is money, what happens when he can’t provide?
2. Discourages Intimacy: Resentment grows in silence. A man who feels financially exploited may detach emotionally and physically.
3. Creates Silent Pressure: Most men don’t complain—they just suffer in silence. Until they break down… or walk away.
The result? Lonely marriages. Emotionally distant relationships. Secretly bitter breadwinners.
🧮 What Does Partnership Really Mean?
Let’s define the word “partner.”
A partner is:
Someone who shares the burden, not just the benefits.
Someone who contributes based on their capacity, not just their gender.
Someone who’s willing to build together, not just spend what someone else builds.
If a man is paying the rent, utility bills, school fees, and fuel, while the woman’s income goes to personal things, beauty routines, and weekend brunch—that’s not partnership. That’s sponsorship.
🙅♂️ The “He’s the Man, He Should Provide” Argument Is Lazy
Many defend financial imbalance by quoting tradition:
“A real man should provide. That’s what our fathers did.”
Fair. But let’s finish the sentence:
“Our mothers also woke up at 5 a.m. to cook, raised six kids, ran businesses from home, respected their husbands, and never tweeted about oppression.”
In the past, yes—men paid for everything. But women worked differently, and they respected the effort. The labor was divided in a way that felt mutual.
Today, women want modern freedoms with zero traditional responsibilities.
That’s not equality. That’s selective feminism.
❤️ What Men Actually Want: Contribution, Not Control
To be clear: Most men are not asking women to split every bill down the middle.
They just want:
To feel supported, not used.
To see effort, not entitlement.
To experience gratitude, not guilt-tripping.
If your partner earns more, maybe they contribute more. If you earn less, maybe you do more at home. If you both earn equally, find balance.
It’s not about 50/50. It’s about 100/100 in effort.
🧘 Final Thoughts: Partnership Is Built, Not Demanded
If you’re in a relationship where one person is doing all the financial lifting, it’s not just unfair—it’s unsustainable.
Partnership means:
⚡Carrying the weight together.
⚡Adjusting when one person is weak.
⚡Respecting the silent sacrifices.
So the next time someone asks:
“If we’re partners, how come I’m the only one paying all the bills?”
Don’t just roll your eyes.
Answer them honestly. Or contribute more actively. Because love without effort… is just dependence in disguise. i'm suspecting this is domperignon's second account. the calamities have started to befall him and now he is frustrated because his wife does not want to share bill. |

Politics › Re: Why Is Amaechi Backtracking On His Once Claimed IBO Identity? by EDGEof2MORO: 1:50pm On Jun 06, 2025 |
DomPerignon: Amaechi first openly declared that as an Ikwere man, that he is Ibo when he was a serving Minister under the Buhari adminstration.
Amaechi made that statement in response to a journalist asking him to comment on cririsicm of the Buhaei government marginalising the SE of federal appointments.
Amaechi replied that it was all nonesense and used his appointment as a Super Minister as an example claiming further that he is an Ibo man from Rivers state.
Amaechi is now backtracking and saying he made that statement out of political convineince . In short , Amaechi has confessed that he lied to decieve and that he isn't an Ibo man but an Ikwere .
Now the question is why is Amaechi backtracking ?
It serves no purpose and it is doing him real disservice to admit he lied for political convenience and he coming out with what he said will further alienate him from the SE core Ibo population.
So why did Amaechi suddenly decide to confess and state unequivocally that he isn't Ibo?
Did Amaechi need to come clean so as to assuage the northerners he is plotting with to get to Aso Rock on his real ethnicity ? And if so, does Amaechi see being Ibo as a real obstacle in gaining northern support? i see you are still out here spewing trash |

Nna2025: Hello Nairalanders, I know we are very sensitive to cheating so I ask for forgiveness.
I had a fling with a girl I have known for sometime now, I used CD but at some point, I used my finger. I started reading about Hiv and the possiblity of contracting it through fingering. Although my readings says % is very low provided there is no fresh injury, however I opted for PEP to calm my nerves. ( Pep is a drug used, when you suspect an exposure to HIV, remember you have 36hours to take it or else it won't work)
I tore off the pack, hid it in something and kept it in my bag. My wife for whatever reason searched my bag, saw it googled it and came back shouting and screaming since last night. My only comment to her is let's go for hiv test And that the drug was for my asthma, I know she wants to take it somewhere for verification.
My only fear now is if I disclose the reason for taking PEP, then my marriage is in danger.
Anything I can do to salvage this situation, I do not have time. Please my people fake story for engagements |

DyshApp: UK-based Nigerian woman, Uloma Nwogu, has recounted a distressing experience involving the father of her children, whom she claims reappeared after years of absence and attempted to use her as a route into the United Kingdom.
Uloma revealed in a post on Facebook that she relocated to the UK two years ago with her children after raising them alone for six years. She described the journey as both physically and mentally draining, stating that the stress of single-handedly raising children in a foreign land led to her developing high blood pressure.
According to Uloma, the children’s father resurfaced in January this year through a Facebook message, expressing a sudden desire to reconnect with the children.
After a series of conversations, he proposed to be included in her visa application and, in return, offered to reimburse her for the children’s school fees from the past six years. all this domperignon post sef. na wah |

Golde58: Your write up is riddled with inaccuracies, generalisations, and senselessly offensive stereotypes. You trivialized the complexities of the 1967-1970 civil war which was supported militarily by Britain and soviet union as well as other powers. Your take on the aftermath of the civil war is indicative of your addled mind. Your reference to Ah Q is both laughable and shows a lack of understanding, which you've managed to decieve yourself as smartness. It is no news that the Igbos rebuilt after the war and are celebrated for community resilience. Also, your claims lack evidence and relies on emotionally charged rhetoric. And all your quack references do not compensate for your lack of substantive argument. You've just managed to show your poorly constructed and biased screed that misrepresent history, and stereotypes an entire ethnic group with provocative rhetoric. Your entire posts on this thread lacks evidence, nuance or intellectual rigor and your derogatory tone undermines any potential for constructive dialogue. he has nothing important to say |
