My good people,

I have been keeping this on a low key for months now but I have decided to open up It's a case between me and ielts, BritishCouncil
in Nigeria.

Sometime in early May, I registered for ielts test, made payment (was confirmed) and picked an exam date, 19th of May. But unfortunately, due to the lockdown, the exam was canceled and I was sent a mail with that regard. In the mail contained links to request for a refund or reschedule, or better still take the home based test(indicator). I informed my university about the ielts indicator test and they said it is unacceptable that instead, I should take the toefl home based.

Now I have to pay for another test provider, toefl. Well, it's logical for me to request for a refund from ielts, when I tried accessing the refund link sent to me, I was getting an access denied error. I therefore sent several mails to them with no response, I waited for days for response but I received none, I proceeded to send a DM on Instagram. Luckily for me, I got a response, they requested for some of my details which I provided and I was told to hold on while they work on my request. Days went by, still nothing was done. Alas! There came a response to my mails from ielts. I was apologized to for the delay and was asked to fill forms for refund which I duly filled and sent back to them with an assurance that the refund will be made that week.

Nothing was done in that regard. I became impatient and threatened to call ieltsng out on social media and they responded that they will do their best. Can you imagine that, after several weeks of promises and fails? Well.. No refund was made still.

Over 2 months after, I still haven't gotten a refund from ielts. 75k no be small money o especially in this time. After all, it wasn't down to me, my university does not accept the ielts indicator test as a valid test.

13 cart pushers have been sentenced to five months’ imprisonment by a Magistrate’s Court sitting at Ogba, Lagos State, for violating the state environmental law.

They were arraigned by the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps on Tuesday, after their arrest Lagos Island, Ikorodu and Egbeda.

The magistrate, Ogundare Olayinwola, who delivered the judgement, sentenced the men to five months’ imprisonment with an option of N20,000 fine

The marriage of a Zambian teacher, Patricia Mwelwa, has hit the rocks, a year after her highly publicized wedding that caught many people’s attention after her then husband to be, surprised her with a brand new Range Rover, Zambianwatchdog reports.

A divorce certificate dated 12th February 2018, has been issued and delivered to her. Davies Mukumbwa had left his wife and threw a big kitchen party for his girlfriend, Patricia Mwelwa. .

A few months later, the couple headed to the Lusaka Local Court where a divorce was granted and Davies ordered to pay her K12,000 in monthly installment as compensation and alimony. 

Davies has since taken the Range Rover back to his first wife and claims the entire episode was a mistake. He has since reconciled with his first wife and family.

One person has been confirmed dead while many others have been left injured in a fight between the Gbagyi natives and Hausa residents in Bwari, an Abuja suburb yesterday December 25th. Many residential homes as well as business places were set ablaze during the fight.

It was gathered that the town was recently engulfed in crisis following the turbaning of a new Hausa traditional ruler known as "Sarkin Bwari" who is of a different lineage from the Gbagyi people that are traditionally known to have the title of "Esu of Bwari." The Bwari indigenes accused the FCT minister, Mohammed Bello, of imposing a non-indigene on them as a ruler.

Military officers have been drafted to the area to restore calm.

The Cross River State Police Command has arrested one Peter Bishung for allegedly defrauding over 30 people of more than N6million.

It was gathered that Mr. Bishung, who posed as a medical doctor had been hanging around the Ministry of Health headquarters premises at the Michael Ani secretariat in Calabar where he may have gotten wind of information to swindle unsuspecting contractors of cash.

He is said to have allegedly posed as a middle man for contracts especially for the 1.5 million dollars world bank health grant to revitalize the Primary Health care system in the state.

Mr. Bishung is suspected to have defrauded about 32 people of over N6 million promising them that they will get contracts. He is said to have collected a minimum of NGN200,000 from each company profile collected.

He was often found around the reception of the office of the Director of Medical Services in the ministry, Dr. Kenneth Takim, who had asked him to produce relevant papers to prove he was a medical practitioner which he failed to do.

He claimed to be “working with department of medical services in the second floor of the Cross River State Ministry of Health, Calabar,” a source in the ministry said.

He was lodging at federal heads of parastatals guest house located at road 6, federal housing estate from where he carried out his alleged dubious acts.

“He is on the run because he could not offset the bills he incurred there amounting to almost NGN200,000,” the source added.
The Police is said to have recovered the profiles of 32 companies in the same room.

And, Police sources say the matter has been moved from the Zone Six Police Command in Calabar and is now domiciled at the Federal Housing Division.

The operatives of Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested an undergraduate of Ambrose Alli University posing as an online custom auctioneer, for cloning the website of Lagos State College of Health Technology and duping several admission seekers of large sums of money.

The suspect, Mayaki Best, 25, a 300 level student of the university, studying Library and Information Science, was arrested, last Wednesday in Auchi, Edo State.

Mayaki was tracked to Edo State following a petition signed by the Provost of Lagos State College of Health Technology, Dr Moyo Kasim, on the fraudulent activities of one Dr. Odeh Philip Oteche, who cloned the website of the institution and requesting for varied sums of money from admission applicants.

He had cloned admission application and bank details, stating that applicants pay N2,500 for admission form. Mayaki who was in possession of the phone line given in the fraudulent bank details, was arrested with three ATM Cards, which carried Otache Philip Odeh, the owner of the fraudulent account. .

He was also found with other ATM cards of Access bank and UBA with the name, Abua Sunday. In his confession to the police, Mayaki stated that he was the brain behind the cloning of the institution’s website and he had withdrawn series of deposits made to the accounts by different applicants.

He added that he started admission racketing when online custom auction of automobile and seized items failed to yield expected returns. Apart from these, the suspect disclosed that he also uses dating platforms for scamming.

Through the cloned institution’s website, Mayaki stated, he had collected deposits ranging from N2,500 to N157,000, adding that one Charles and Ganiyu Balogun now at large were accomplices. He stated that he opened Access Bank and UBA accounts with Sunday Abua for Nigerian Customs auction vehicles and goods.

He disclosed that the three facebook accounts of female custom officers he had been using. Also found in his possession, were different soft copies of unfilled custom papers.

Earlier on we reported that Reverend Father Cyriacus Onunkwo was kidnapped from his vehicle in Orlu town in Orlu Local Government Area on Friday morning by unknown gunmen. The clergy's corpse was discovered in a bush in Omuma Village in Orlu East Local Government Area on Saturday.

The catholic priest who's from Osina in Ideato North LGA, Imo State, was traveling home to arrange for father's funeral when he was abducted at gunpoint.

There are speculations that he may have been strangled as his body had no gunshot nor stab wounds when he was found.

According to the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Chris Ezike, investigations are ongoing to arrest his killers.

Phuket Police, Thailand have arrested a 27-year-old Nigerian man for allegedly robbing and shooting a Russian woman in the Island-province, as well as breaking into several houses in the area.

Chijioke James Chukwunweike was arrested at a rented house in Moo 2 village in Tambon Rawai in Phuket’s Muang district on Thursday night, August 31.

Police found a lot of valuables at the rented house, believed to have been stolen. The Nigerian man denied robbing or attacking the Russian woman.

The woman, Elena Kharenko, said she woke up at around 3.30am on August 30 and saw burglars inside her luxurious house near the Rawai beach. She was shot when she shouted for help. The thieves carried away a safe box and other valuables.

Phuket police chief Pol Colonel Akanit Danphithaksat himself went to the Chalong Police Station to interrogate the suspect.

Several house owners in the Rawai area, whose houses had been burgled, also came to the police station to check the seized valuables.

One of them, Sasithorn Temphan, 39, identified a Louis Vuitton handbag and two luxury watches as belonging to her.

Imo State command confirms that Reverend father Cyriacus Onunkwo was kidnapped from his vehicle in Orlu town in Orlu Local Government Area on Friday morning by unknown gunmen.

The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Chris Ezike said a body was discovered in a bush in Omuma Village in Orlu East Local Government Area on Saturday and the corpse has been positively identified as that of father Onunkwo, while investigations are still on to unveil his killers.

Police say the late cleric’s car was discovered intact, with nothing removed from it. Neither did the body bear any gunshot or stab wounds, leading to speculations that he may have been strangled.

A Lady that we have been friends here for over 2years chat me this morning that she will like to worship at my church today, of course I was very happy because we have not meet before and I was like I will be happy to meet her.
