His media aide said;

“There is no truth to the news, it is unimaginable. We would issue a statement on the matter soon. The palace is not interested in this rumour as there are lots of positive activities happening every minute so we don’t have time to respond to such noise being created by nonentities.”

Gunmen on Sunday struck at the Assemblies of God Church on the Oguta road Onitsha , Anambra State killing one policeman and a civilian.

This is coming seven days after gunmen attacked St Philips Catholic Church , Ozubulu and killed no fewer than 13 persons and injured 27.

According to an eyewitness;

“ When the firing became too hot, the policemen abandoned their patrol vehicle and ran away for safety .

“ The gunmen moved to their patrol van and took a gun belonging to the policeman they killed .
“ I saw two of the gunmen but I can ’ t say how many they are in number.

Another eyewitness said , “ Gunmen on Okada (motorcycle ) shot a policeman and collected his rifle. They also shot dead an Okada man while escaping, and the passenger he was carrying was injured . The policeman was the one armed among his colleagues ; they were providing security while church service was going on at Assemblies of God Church, Oguta road Onitsha.

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police , Mr Garba Umar confirmed the incident to journalists .

He said it was not an attack on the church, adding “ My men were on patrol near the church when they were attacked by some gunmen. It was not an attack on the church, in the real sense of it ” .

The commissioner confirmed that the hoodlums took away a rifle belonging to the slain cop .
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige had on Saturday said the Federal Government would work out modalities on how to secure places of worship in the country .

Not more than 25 people lost their lives after a fuel tanker collided with a commercial bus along Abuja-Lokoja highway on Friday, 28th of July. The incident was reported to had happened arounfd 1:30pm, the incident which caused a engulfing fire affected about 10 cars within the range of the accident.

According to an eyewitness who was present at the scene;


”The tanker and the 18-seater bus were trying to overtake each other. But unfortunately, the tanker lost balance and it fell on the bus.

We have been complaining to the government to fix this road. Now you can see how many lives that have been lost. No fewer than 25 burnt bodies can be seen here", Ibrahim added.

Another eyewitness Haruna Sadiq who sympathized with families of those who lost their lives said they called on the fire authority for more than 20 minutes but they claimed there was no fuel in their vehicle.

”I am really disappointed with our firemen. We have been calling them that people are dying here, but all we could hear is that they don’t have fuel. What a shame," he said.

Other witnesses said while some residents scampered for safety, others were seen with galoons trying to scoop fuel.

The former minister of finance, Ngozi Okonjo has been appointed as a bank director in the UK and she is going to be earning £130,000 per year.

According to reports, she is to work for Standard Chartered PLC which is a British multinational banking and financial services company with its headquarters in London and with a presence in 70 countries.


According to a statement released by the company yesterday, her appointment takes effect from November 1st 2017. The statement added that she will earn £130,000 per annum for her expertise in financial and development financing.

The bank's Chairman, José Viñals, in the statement said;

“Ngozi is a globally recognised African figure. She has significant geopolitical, economic, risk and development experience and expertise at a national governmental level and in international organisations, which will provide significant insight and value to the Board. She also has deep knowledge of Africa as well as emerging and developing markets. I am delighted to welcome her to Standard Chartered”

Today, the Daily Strength Devotional Team, calls on all users of DSD to a one-day FASTING AND PRAYERS/SUPPORT DAY for Daily Strength Devotional. The topic of today’s reflection reads “FAITHFUL STEWARD OF GRACE” expresses our desire and prayer to be faithful stewards of this gift of God – the Daily Strength Devotional.


We want to be faithful steward of DSD. We thank God for what He is doing with and through this gift of His. We thank God for the journey thus far. Also, we call upon you, brethren to ask for mercy for and on behalf of Daily Strength Devotional team members for the times they fell short of God’s expectations and inspirations.

It has not actually been easy but for God’s help and grace. Beloved, join other members of the DSD family to consecrate DSD into God’s hands. Brethren, there are more lands to conquered, more territories to possess for Jesus; therefore, we humbly beckon on you dear users to offer financial support as the spirit leads you to enable us meet our production, administrative and evangelical task.

Prayer Points:


Thank God for the gift of Daily Strength Devotional.
Pray for pardon in any way the DSD Team may have fallen short of God’s expectations.
Merciful Jesus, grant us repentance so that we can escape the trap of the evil one and enjoy new life in Christ in the name of Jesus.
Pray that we would be more docile to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit. Child of God kindly pray for DSD, for the challenges are enormous, both within and without.
Pray that God’s vision for Daily Strength Devotional will continue to be actualized irrespective of all human contentions and demonic manipulations and attacks.
Pray for DSD distributors and financial partners, that God will enlarge their financial horizon.

Dammy Krane is to appear in court for trail on the 1st of August at the Justice Building, Room 4-3 with Courtney Erik as his defense attorney and Migiel De La O as the judge.

The Nigerian celebrity was arrested on the 2nd of June for credit card theft identity fraud in Miami. He was released a few days after he pleaded not guilty to the charges and met his bail condition that was set at $7,500.
