Family / Re: Housewife Surprises Husband With N700k She Saved In Her Piggy Bank "Kolo" by edwife(f): 3:01pm On Jul 24, 2017
emmanuelewumi:

I guess he was referring to a full time house wife.

The house wife that has her shop, small business, home based business or who monetizes are marketable skills is good to go.

A woman should have something that legally gives her income apart from the stipend she gets from her husband.

Being a full time housewife is a job and skill itself! It's black mostly Nigerians that makes it look like it's a lazy job.

Do you know that abroad you can get a trainee job by just stating that you were a housewife? Do you know how many skills a housewife has? You think nannies are being paid huge money abroad for the fun of it? Taking care of a man, kids, home and everything financial, organise a home is skill. It is one of the hardest job in the world.

Y'all should stop belittling housewives. Their husbands are not complaining and i don't think anyone has the right to tell a woman what and how to take care of her family.

A woman should do what is good for her family first! The husband is the only one that has the right to discuss it with her and approve or not!

Like I said, do what makes you happy.

She knows being a housewife is not just it so she saved up and started a business.
Wise woman

No woman should ever agree to being a housewife.

Why? It's an individual preference and no one has the right to determine what another human being chooses to do regarding her family.
Some "working class" women don't even see the kind of money some housewives see, so why set a standard for people?

Do what makes you happy and live and let live.

What a funny story! There is not juju here, your mum is being brainwashed and this can be due to a psychotic episode.

You have two options here:

~She's an adult, let her go see what she's looking for and if she decides to come back, take her back.
~ Take her to a shrink. She needs psychiatric evaluation.

Such a respectful boy. He didn't flare up once like the typical Nigerian. grin

O boy! How about you just mind your business? It's easy, much more easier than the advice you are seeking. smiley

Horrible experience - yes

But those approaching the 12th hour of their childbearing years would keep it especially if it turns out to be the one and only biological chance at motherhood..,

Yes but not all efe. There are many who will rather remain childless than to think of conceiving for a criminal. I , particularly would have adopted kids and will never want to have a kid after 45.

If the same woman is raped by a mad man, should she still keep the baby? Because for me it's the same.

Let's add a twist and make it more interesting:

Assuming you've been seeking the fruit of the womb for 25+ years and menopause is almost knocking on the door. What would you do?

By then I will know that my partner is the problem and i will look for a more suitable sperm donor. I can't live with that fact that the child is that of a criminal who raped me. I don't want to be constantly reminded of that horrible experience.
