fasho01: It's amazing how he has done absolutely nothing as a lawmaker, yet doesn't want to leave office.
Greedy and selfish as they all are Exactly! I live in Surulere, and I can comfortably say that Desmond Elliot has made zero to little contribution to the development of the LGA. In a free-and-fair election, I doubt if he would win, based on his woeful performance. But then, this is Nigeria where anything can happen. Tomorrow, Baba and his goons might forgive him and voila! He will be handed another tenure amd might even become Speaker of the HoA |

I grew up in the era of black & white TV, Nitel ring dial telephones, turntables with massive Kenwood speakers, Video cassette players with attached remotes (ours was a Hitachi Video player that had a calendar up to the year 2010 ), video sender devices that let you broadcast movies to closeby neighbours. And yes, the first video game I ever played was Pac-Man; my primary school introduced computer studies when I was about to leave in '96, and we were permitted to use the PC for a couple of minutes every Wednesday. Boy! Life was much simpler back then. |

Why can't they just reject the request for approval? They of course want to eat now and then eat later. The corruption eats very deep. Corruption has eaten so deep into the fabric of our society. This scenario is akin a two-way street. On one hand is the businessman/trader/student/cindividual offering bribes just to bypass regulations, and on the other hand are the officials who will accept these bribes, offer temporary reliefs, and then go back to enforce the law . Minutes later, my phone buzzed. A WhatsApp notification blinked on the screen. A link — identical to the one I’d received for my first mission. My hands trembled as I tapped it.
The page loaded slowly, almost mocking me, until the words appeared.
"You must take a peep into Detective Kalu’s investigation file on last night’s incident. Everything you see inside, you must report back in detail. Failure to do so will be… detrimental."
I dropped the phone and sank my head into the pillow. A scream tore from my throat — not from physical pain but from the weight pressing down on my soul.

Mercy Akide is the trailblazer — without her, African women’s football might not have cracked into FIFA circles in the early 2000s.
Asisat Oshoala is the modern GOAT — excelling both for Nigeria and in elite European football.

He has the financial strength to make the sector unattractive to others by pricing his products very-very low such that others can't compete, and then jack up the prices at will when he has effectively monopolised the entire sector. This is the same Tinubu that was acting like a near dead im(b)ecile during the 2023 electoral campaign. He deceived the north into thinking he wouldn't last 4 years in office. See the same Tinubu today. Acting very energetic.

Did anyone observe this.. OP, from the screenshots you posted, the most logical explanation for this deduction is that there is an outstanding debt on your meter. I would advise you reach out to AEDC for clarification. I had a similar issue with EKDC sometimes in 2023 when I noticed I was not getting the full value of my top-ups. I went to their office to complain. I was told there's a 150k debt on my meter and 50% would be deducted each time I recharge until the debt is cleared off. |

I've had quite a couple of crazy experiences. One of them was when I threw my shoe at a wasp's nest. Boy, those wasps flew out and stung the living daylights out of my face. To add insult to injury, I got punished by my mother for "disturbing the neighbours" with my screaming. While growing up, there was this bros that lived in a shop. One day, a banny came visiting and the bros locked the shop from inside. In no time, my friends and I concluded that they must be doing "daddy and mummy" inside. I can't remember who started it, but we started throwing stones at the shop's windows and door. After a while, the bros opened the door angrily and we all scampered for safety. I dashed across the road without looking; and gbosaaa!!! An okada (motorbike) "cleared" me off, lifting me high into the sky. I landed with a heavy thud and zoned out for a moment or two. I thought I had died, but obviously, God still had some purpose for me in this life. As for the wicked bros, I'm sure he went back into his shop and continued his "daddy and mummy" game with that auntie. Wicked Man |

Molue era is enough for film makers to make many comedy series. Good old days. You missed out one important part though; the never-ending traders and itinerant doctors selling different wonder-drugs that can heal virtually every type of illness under the sun. Many GenZs can never relate to these things:- 1. The fear and agony of being taken beyond your busstop by the half-drunk driver. 2. The euphoria of successfully fighting your way inside a molue bus during rush hours. 3. The pungent odour oozing out of different unwashed and hairy armpits hanging over your head in the sweltering heat as passengers hold on to the support bars running across the length of the molue. 4. The mixture of fear and excitement that pulses through your bloodstream as you hang precariously on the steps of the molue, holding on for dear life and praying to God that you don't fall off 5. The tokens the bus conductors hand you to indicate your "change". You're expected to return these tokens in order to get your balance from the ever-angry conductors. No token, no balance. God! Those were the days! So many memories. |
