I beg you not to give up. I have worked in over 9 different places in my life and there was a time I was without employment for almost a year.

In fact I just got another job this DECEMBER after resigning from the last one.

Here are some tips to improve your chances of getting employed.

1. Dont give in to depression. Ensure you stay happy always.
2. Stay current in your chosen field/profession.
3. Be flexible. If one method is not working, try another one. For example IT Professionals have a higher chance of getting jobs than other professionals in this century. There are people who read sociology who are now Software Developers. In fact one of them that crisscrossed into IT was my team lead in one of the places I have worked.

Believe me, I've been there and as much as I agree with your posit, I know what I meant when I said business is the way. My intellectual prowess can be said to be above average. I've participated in recruitment process that cuts down over 5000 applicants to 50 and made it to last stage, even currently involved in two.
The fact still remains the workforce is saturated and companies are interested in hiring the best of the best. There is nothing one can do than to develop oneself to meet the standard or to find solace in some other things.

My dear, you are almost there oo. If you give up does mails have defeated you. Please just continue studying hard looking for easy ways to tackle does Gmat , SHL questions etc. Pray harder and keep focus once again you are almost there. Goodluck

In IT, you could learn how to use some tools for data analytics/management, machine learning, and big data - tableau, power bi, aws, Microsoft azure, etc

When yu know enough to render your services, register on Fiverr, upwork, freelance, etc

Yu could also start by visiting the freelance websites and seeing the trend and what interests you. Then go to udemy and grab the courses (yu can get the courses on sale at $9.99). On edx dot org, just audit the courses.

IT is very lucrative, but you need to put in the effort. Anyone can find a niche in IT. who knows from freelancing, yu can even get remote jobs.

In IT, skills can be roughly divided into programming languages or tools/software - Should you learn R, python, Matlab, Java, Scala vs learning Microsoft azure or aws or rapid miner?

There are a few threads here on Nairaland that discuss freelancing. Also use Google to do your research and make your plans.

Freelancing online can be more profitable than the average job in Nigeria.

@ Op I got same regret mail from Oando. However, this is my 6thmonths after service, still seriously job hunting. However, I took different course online to equip my intellect the more. Keep pushing, jobs will definitely come.

Why will you give up...you were not even shortlisted and you're giving up already.....keep applying there's noting that comes easy .no gain without a pain bro....one must click... When it will come you will be having 2/3 offer letter at the same time to make a choice....just keep Applying

Dust yourself off and try again.

What I used to do was apply for at least 20 jobs a day 7 days a week and once I hit 20 jobs a day, I switch off my pc and go out to relax.

This means of course that I hated filling out lengthy application forms that take more than 10 minutes to fill. I ignore the lengthy applications and focus on quick wins that needed just a cover letter and CV. This means I can easily do 20 apps a day instead of putting all my energy into filling just 1 application that may take up to 3 hours of my life and still not get an interview.

Job hunting is a job in itself and is a numbers game, so don't waste too much time on a single application when you can spend the same time on sending just a CV and cover letter to 20 or more separate companies.

Also, I avoided recruitment agencies as most of them are time wasters and I only send my CV and cover letter directly to companies in response to a specific vacancy I see online.

Finally, I don't think about the job and once I have sent my CV and cover letter, I just forget about the job.

Don't give up as winners never quit and quitters never win.
