ik10000:Its a lie. I disagree. If you attend interview on ER your visa cannot be issued until after 24/48 hrs. USCIS staffs inside the U.S embassy or electronically will still investigate your visa approval. they work outside the U. S. embassy staff circle as a private investigators on all visa approvals. By the way, why did you not ask the lady how did she do it ? You sounded over wise , therefore your original question is not genuine. When the asker knows too much than the answerers then there is something behind it.. When you ask question it means you need help and you should expect all forms of reply. When you start arguing on points then you are not real. 👋 |

Ihomon:Hi. Focus on getting your visas. I have not seen anyone coming out to show 3 months visa for F1. I am not even doubting the possibility again, but my standing point is that, even if you are given 1 day visa it will be sufficient for your study and travel. Did the visa officer and USCIS not see your resumption date and duration of study in your Form I-20s ? Stop worrying yourself. 👍 |
ik10000:Oga it is impossible. If you want to advertise date or date search groups go ahead if the admin allow you. Don't come and advertise impossible stunts because intelligent Nairalanders will not agree with you . You just asked a question today and all of a sudden you are teaching us impossible possibilities. She got visa today then, jumped on flight to the U.S. the next day , okay how long does it take to collect your visa after approval? As it stands, the fastest OIS Premium pickup cannot deliver your visa in 1 week except if there is no much deliveries they need to do. NOTE: I am not against anything you want to do if you are permitted by the admin but don't preach impossible stunts. People have been sent back to their countries (not Nigerians alone) from Port of Entries for arriving way too late to school after the start-of-class. Let people who want to defer do so. Many students or family relied solely on the information they read on NL, so we should always say things as it stands. 👍 |
ik10000:** Everyone can feel the changes , yes but will you bring your own rule and policy of arriving late to school on the US embassy ? Every international student has one or two times of grace to differ their admissions therefore , as it stands you do not have an excuse 😎 Nevertheless, The idea of requesting a late-arrival/resumption letter to school is okay but most school will not give you more than 2 weeks of grace and some schools will decline writing such letter (based on my personal experiences). In this respect, you don't even have the letter at hand or don't you know that the visa officer will like to see it ? If your situation is real then you will eventually defer your admission. NB: Yes you can choose btw Lagos or Abuja at the eleventh hour if that will give you a quick date but you must update your DS-160. But unfortunately, your game plan is late. 👍 |
ik10000:Hello. Defer your admission. Even if your date magic works, your late or unprepared resumption won't work in the presence of the consular. . You are resuming in 5 days time and no date yet 😎 |
GlobeTrotter823:Hi. Firstly, let me start by helping you to change your old fallacy about travel history. Although, having traveled to few countries and returned without any crime record places you in a good profile for reputation only, and such reputation can be ie a rich man or woman who can afford travels and who is likely going to return and travel elsewhere again. Aside of the above accolade, U.S. visa success does not rely on travel history and proof of funds anymore. It is now relying on your genuine intentions, background checks both in Nigeria and anywhere, and your ability to communicate it via your visa application (Ds-160) and verbally to the visa officer. As per the 3- months visa. U S. embassy will be visionary about it because they will think all the visa application scenarios imaginable (like you are thinking right now) and decide the best ways to issue the visa without causing confusion. The visa can be issued indefinitely until you enter America before it starts counting. The visa might be renewable at the port of entry until after so and so year before you will have to go back and renew at the embassy, etc. I will suggest that you focus on securing the visa 1st, and don't rely on your good travel history 👍 |

Otelsmyg:** Let us assume that you have been denied by all the available interview officers on duty on the day of your interview will the U.S. embassy employ another staff for you or reschedule your appointment until a new person is available to interview you ? Unfortunately, the answer is NO ! The rule that says an officer should not interview you twice is not made for you, it is made internally based on the policy of " Equal Opportunity For All in order to give you 2nd judgement fair hearing in the case (perhaps) you have been interviewed by an inexperienced or trainee officer" In this respect you have to make the request in a very polite manner and it works most of the time if you reapply immediately. However, the request can be denied at the discretion of the embassy. 👍 |
snoopy:But you did not give him any sensitive suggestions? You can be a clapping spectator who knows more than the players. 😎 He did not ask us to console him about the lost of his father , he asked us to fathom what could be wrong and I gave him the bitter truth scenario. |
Naijadentist2bx:No one is rewriting your story. You should not have come public asking for advice. You must expect different opinions on public forum. Stop deceiving yourself . You will soon appreciate the honest response. |

Desiré You are not doing it well and that page is likely corrupted (DS-160 is a security sensitive website). Go to a cyber cafe and ask the operator to resize the photo and upload it for you . It is not something you can get via abstract explanation. Or give it to a relative with a more computer navigational skill. Pls do not submit the ds-160 without the passport. 👍 |

wadijoo:Waduwé This is unnecessary worry but I will not blame you since you do not know how visionary the U.S government are. 1. Visas can be post-dated for future use . 2. The 3-months visa can be issued indefinitely until your first entry into America then it started to count. 4. The 3 months visa when expired can be easily renewed, etc. Allow the woman to get the visa first. 👍 |
Oluwaseun2025:** Don't quote me half way. I am using my logic because I can reason well. I am also using experiences, as well as reliable sources and finally relied solely on official publication by the USA embassy before I post or reply to any answer on Nairaland . I am not using a generalised thoughts like you. In my last post , I attached where social media vetting originated from which is in specific term , from Harvard University but you did not have anything to write about that. Hello ! I have seen more than 6 visa applicants with straight visa collection slips out of the interview. Was that logic or an empirical evidence? I will be happy if you can give us the evidence of your current reality from the embassy. NB: How did you know or what survey or opinion polls did you do to know that every f1 visa applicants in Nigeria is being placed on AP ? All of you are just generalizing. |
Tashi95:Its not completely wrong. Are you a staff at the U.S embassy? I have seen more than 6 F1 visa applicants with straight forward visa stampings who came out of interview with visa collection slips. I will never buy the idea coming from any group chats because many of them come out being deceived with misconceptions. You and I are not working at the embassy so don't come out and say completely wrong without any official evidences. U. S embassy never write it anywhere that all F1 visa applicants will be placed on compulsory Administrative Processing. Even if all your group members were placed on 221g your numbers is not even up to a pinch of the whole population. Pls don't turn general thinking into a rule. Attached is the origin of Social Media Vetting. President Trump is focusing on the Ivy League Schools (especially Harvard University) before they eventually compulsory it to all US institutions. 👍
|
Manoblix:** It will be illogical to say all F1 visa applicants will end with AP. If this reasoning is put in operation then all F1 visa applicant must arrive late to school, their f1 visa processing will take longer and there will be lot of backlogs in which there will be a gap-year which the U.S embassies will not take in F1 visa applications in order to clear the awaiting APs.. Ipso facto, I don't want to believe that 40% of Nigerians are on Nairaland , therefore we should not be judging an individual applicant experience as a specimen for all applicants in Nigerian . The majority of AP I have personally seen are for Phds and their AP is not because of Social Media verification. Few of the BSC and Msc I have seen were those who listed social medias but did not open their privacy settings to PUBLIC. Those who indicated social medias and open their privacy settings in the beginning of their applications does not necessarily have to be place on AP except for other background checks. In summary: AP is not compulsory for all F1 visa applicants. I have seen few applicants who did not list social medias. Social media verification is done in few minutes by Computer (automatic or Artificial Intelligence method) and you will only be placed on compulsory AP if the computer red-alert you. PS: This is my personal research so far from related applicant experiences, reliable sources information and my common sense. IT IS NOT OFFICIAL. 👍 |
Poormanpikin:WU wins in both faster and better. Pay4Me is just coming up and building reputation. 👍 |
xtianchris:It is still your personal decision. |

Piccolo1:Hi. There is nothing wrong in using any loan manager to proof POF. The only and major brick wall is proving the repayment ability to the visa officer without leaving any doubt and with evidence (s). If you can jump that hurdle 👆 then go ahead. 👍 |
America001:*** Your new Travel Passport is the continuation of your old travel passport because your new travel passport will carry your old travel passport number for reference. Open your new travel passport, you will also see your old travel passport number inside. Yes, it is a problem if your DS-160 states Abuja as your interview post while your visa appointment is indicating Lagos post as your interview location. Making sure your DS-160 confirmation number tallies with the one reflecting in your visa appointment letter is not the only rule. Your ds-160 confirmation number may tally with your visa appointment letter while your ds-160 embassy post (eg Abuja) may differ to your appointment letter interview post (eg Lagos). In summary, you must also make sure that The location you picked in your DS-160 is the location that reflects in your visa appointment letter. Ie DS-160 location A = Abuja .... Appointment Letter Location A = Abuja. This is what the embassy wants. If you fill another Abuja DS-160 in this scenario in order to add additional information, then that DS is now Abuja DS-160 B, so you must go to AVITS and update the new Abuja DS-160 B confirmation number in order to change the old one in your appointment letter. Your visa appointment letter will now be printed as Abuja Appointment Letter B after the update. 👍 |
Afamefuna87:Ikemefuna Your query contain zero information, so any answer you will be getting will be based on generalization. 1. Are you for Bsc, Msc or PhD ? 2. Are you looking for funding or not ? 3. Summary of your academic standings ie CGPA? 4. What course are you going for ? Are you applying alone ? Look at the whole information you are missing and you want the best guidance 👆 Anyways, go back and start reading from page 1. This present page is page 205. By the time you get to page 100 you would have grasp a better info. |
Timshin:Timshin Some tweets can be misleading and you and I are not citizens of western countries. I have attached what Nigeria Citizens VISA NAVIGATOR says about 221g.. 👍

mamateniola1:Hello. I hope you have not bastardized your baby's application page. What are you going to do in Ghana AVITS for the sake of trial and error ? Those moves can corrupt your avits page on security ground. Anyways, family application is a complex procedure at times , starting from ds -160 and mrv payment. You must also be applying for the same visa type with all of your family accompanying persons but with option of grace for 1 applicant with a different visa type. There are many questions to ask because I am certain you have done something wrong. Did you pay visa fee together? How many are you ? Have you gotten your date first ? Etc Delete the current pending appointment for your baby and start all over. Let's see if you will scale through. 👍 |
ultim:Guy No call center can get you a date automatically without you using your physical hand to navigate the reschedule button. Automatic reschedule was possible during CGI era but not possible now. Even the U. S embassy must notify you via email to reschedule an appointment yourself if need be (in the case of public holiday). Your Schedule & Reschedule options can be greyed out or disappear if you have missed your initial appointment (marked as absent). Or if you submitted IW with OIS or appear physical interview and later placed on 221g (Administrative Processing). Any of the above or whatever reason, you have to follow official communication in order for it to be rectified. Those who missed initial appointment does not have much hope than to go and purchase another visa fee (MRV). No call agent or call centers can schedule your appointment without the physical reschedule option appearing in your AVITS profile. 👍 |
Chemist4life:@kimpoyo13 was right. That is the official rules stipulated by the U.S embassy. The person who posted experience did not post evidence of it . Even if the person posted the evidences then, that means the embassy broke their own rules.. 👍 |
Chemist4life:Evening Chemist. If you are looking for excuse to stick to F2-visa then an answer like : 1. My present employer extended my employment duration with salary increment or a long time multi -million Naira contract you and your team have been hoping for just materialized during the time of the F1/F2 visa process hence , it is likely you join your partner at the end of the contract , meanwhile B1/B2 wil not accord me that opportunity. 2. F2 visa is the natural visa for me to apply for as the partner of the f1 because I may likely join my partner the moment I finish the various activities I needed to finish in Nigeria . 3. Or I am still undecided if I want to join my partner finally hence, I only want to visit him once and decide if I will change to B2 (visitor) in my subsequent visits. Those are few excuses that will sound reasonable to any consular if you are applying for F2 visa with the intention to visit and not to join your spouse. 👍 |
phiriki:** It depends on the type of visa appointment the person missed. However , such individual will likely get a new MRV if he or she is not given the option to reschedule with 24hrs. Getting a new appointment that will be tailored to your activities in the US is based on your DS-160 information and the use of Emergency Visa Appointment Application. 👍 |
