My early resumption Date is 3rd August 2025 and i have 22nd October 2025.

What should i do at this junction because i don’t want to start asking for a New form1-20 that will warrant submitting bank statements and waiting infact the session has start.

Hi everyone, I’m trying to register on AVIS and start the visa application for my parents while still keeping the DS-160 open (un-submitted) in order to quickly pick any date available next year but after creating a profile, it’s saying “USER IS INACTIVE” on AVITS, is it mandatory to submit the DS-160 now before someone can go ahead to apply for the visa cos I was wondering what could be the issue. Yes, I did the same but still the portal separated the appointment dates for each applicant even we get different days and times for the appointment. These people are not smiling at all.

The agent that helped with my application said he applied for myself and wife separately tho our dates are on the same day. I am guessing we will be interviewed separately as I guess they cannot interview our children

If you have a means of cutting corners and going for the interview this month do it. Even if they refuse to issue you a visa, the experience alone of going for an appointment will be a guide to you when next you're preparing for an appointment.

I've been seeing your comments on this matter for some time now, so I know that you'll be in doubt of what I said. Just like I mentioned, you can ask around to clear your doubt.
To your other comment on F1 visa being indefinite, I'm not sure I understand what you mean as that's not the case in principle. A visa is simply what gives you authorization to enter a country and and in most cases have a validity period. For the non-immigrant visa, that validity period has now been reduced to 3 months and it's single entry, meaning that you can only use it once and within the 3 months validity.

For a student, once you're in the US, you're legally entitled to stay in the US for the period of your studies. However, if you have a course to travel out of the US, you might need to apply for another visa in the light of this single entry 3-months validity period visa.

FYI: That's not true. They have been issuing 3-months visa to F1 applicants. You can ask around if in doubt

We can’t really do anything about it since the policy applies to non-immigrant visas, and the F1 visa falls under that category.

That’s why I’m asking has anyone recently gotten their F1 visa under the new rule.

How exactly does the 3-month validity work?

Does it start counting from the date of issue, or closer to the program start date?
For instance, if your program begins in January 2026 but you get your visa in September 2025, would it still be valid by resumption?

See the mail I got from a professor at Grand valley State University.

I attended my f1 visa interview in Abuja on July 3rd 2025, I was placed on administrative processing for social media vetting. I received my passport yesterday without no visa stamp or any foil5ij my passport, and my status still remain on the traditional "Refused" for administrativd processing. There was an inscription in the passport where they ticked that there's no action required from me and make your account set to public was underlined. However, my social media accounts all in public, tested these through people who aren't my friends on social media. What should I do?

Quick question:
After deferring to spring since fall semester won’t work, can I use same SEVIS for another school, or it has to be the same school, cos I understand the SEVIS expires after one year.
Please note, I can only defer to spring according to the school, I can’t defer to another fall term.

Would appreciate explanation on the SEVIS, and how long it stays and if it can be use for other schools other than the original school it was used for.
