aramide000:Evening. Nobody can command or compel you with your life decisions. So the decision to defer your admission lies with your instincts. In the case of deferment, your I -20 sevis number/ID is likely going to be changed and you must fill another DS- 160 in order to update the new resumption date and other new information. There is nothing to worry about if you want to defer your admission. All you have to do is just fill another DS-160 and update it. 👍 |
Godsknight:** What happens to F1 visa also happens to F2. They enjoy same benefits and same visa and study duration, so both visas are husband and wife living together . No presidential rules can change that fact except with a new educational constitution which must be ratified by the Senate of the white house (Congress house). The only thing that differentiate the two is that F2 cannot work nor study in a government accredited schools. F2 must be absolutely dependent on F1. |
jeswinner:** Go to USA embassy official website, then click on visas it will automatically take you to necessary pages. 👍 |
Dantezago12:** The rule says " Every F1 visa applicant who do not have his or her desired interview date from the beginning must use the last resort aka emergency appointment 3- months before resumption. Based on the review above, you did not follow the rule of Emergency Visa appointment application. Nevertheless, students can still secure expedited appointments regardless of the time you applied but , The U.S. embassy will use their rules and policy to ignore you when there are too many applicants to attend to. Your last option now is to start raising a support ticket or keep gambling with reschedule options if you still have it. You may also try to re-apply for another ER. 👍 |
Deziri20:Pls Efetobore1980 will never contact anyone that I have a solution . Although many people write to me privately and I regard majority of them as travel agents. But I will never and have never initiate a conversation or communication with anyone that I want to help. If there is such person he or she should come out. @Deziri20 that Efetobere is an impersonator not me oo. THE ADMIN SHOULD REMOVE THE ACCOUNT. 👍 |
Nellyjo:** USA does not have a provision for airside transit (even for 30 minutes ) in which you (a passenger ) can remain in the secure area of the airport without going through the immigration. The summary is that : if your nationality requires a visa to enter the US, you will need a transit visa (C-1) or ESTA. I would rather you booked a direct flight or the one that will not stop over in the US. 👍 |
kamsy101:Greetings If you are a religious person or you believe in the existence of God then you should also believe in Devine arrangements. What if you had secured your original appointment and your f1 visa was denied ? My best advise for you is to defer the admission and use the gap period in studying and familiarizing yourself with success tips and mock practicing. The gap between 3rd of August & 22nd of October is too long, therefore most consular will frown with your resumption plans and I don't think any school will want to issue a late resumption letter beyond 2 weeks. That being written. You do not need to submit a new bank statement to defer your Admission and have an updated Form I-20 except if you are changing sponsor. Defer your Admission. 👍 |
kes4glory:Hello. I have not really settled down with your piece but I am seeing some application error. (1). Your email has to be specific wether you are interested in Msc or PhD. (2). You do not have to give much accolade or reference to your prospective University, rather you are supposed to focus on praising or revealing your personal academic achievements. (3). I will advice you to always attach an open jpeg flier in the form of a CV which will summarize your best academic feats in 3- sentences . (4). You do not need longer words , many professors does not have the time to waste on your SOP if you have not been invited to send in application , so your email should be going as summary. NB: You did not list any academic reference with contact in your mail. That is another trust magnet. 👍 |
fbimps:** The old GTB MRV payment is still valid go with it. But if you have paid another visa fee in order to secure your present date , then go with the current visa fee payment receipt (1st bank ). 👍 |
fbimps:Hallo. Fill another DS-160 and input all new information necessary and submit with your recent photo. After that login to AVITS (your profile) in order to update the new ds-160. You will be promt to print out a new visa appointment letter after the update, once you can find your new ds-160 confirmation number reflecting in your new appointment letter, then your update is successful. Take the new DS-160 confirmation, visa appointment letter , 2 recent passport photos with your name written at the back , your travel passport, visa fee payment evidence and other support documents appropriate for your visa application along to your interview post. 👍 |
Omoruyij:YOU. Hi all, I have a question,my visa got deny and I don’t know why You can't know why. That is the game plan of INA 214b, they want you to keep guessing what's wrong so that they won't be liable to visa appeal or litigation 😊 YOU Here is how my interview went VO: I saw here you have a scholarship from uyirico ent Me:yes, uyirico is my dad’s company Then ,he started typing and pass me the blue slip and said he cannot approve my visa. Psychologically I knew straightforward that this is one of the major brick wall for your denial. Number one, you only rushed here to narrate your ordeal but we know zero information about you . So anyone who wants to give you a genuine way forward needs to know a lot about your profile and application history. YOU Please kindly judge, were did I go wrong and when is advisable for me to reapply No one can judge you better without .... Your complete transcript with the consular (give us accurate transcript). 2. Your school, Bsc , Msc or PhD, . 3. Married or single , Age ranges ? Etc . Visa officers judged your visa by the information in your ds-160 and your profiles , therefore anyone who want to guide you correctly needs the same information otherwise, such adviser will only give you a probable reason (s). 👍 |
Folayommie:It is now mandatory to fill your ds 160, to sign it and submit finally before initiating the booking of your visa appointment. The U.S embassy lay emphasis on this rule twice and in one of their posts they reiterated " Do not start this application if you have not filed and submitted your ds-160. However, that is not the reason for your USER INACTIVE. 👍 |
wadijoo:** How did you do the same ? How did you make MRV payment for all of you ? I don't think you have done the right thing. 👍 |
jeswinner:** If you have it you can indicate it otherwise it is not absolutely compulsory for anybody especially B1/B2. They are kind of focusing on international students. They have the largest visa applications from almost all countries of the world. 👍
|
wadijoo:** You can book a family appointment in the scene 1 (attached). They called it " Create New", The one that is obviously indicated in the scene 2 (group appointment attached) is prohibited for Nigerians. 👍
|
wadijoo:Wadijoo Yes there is no more "General Group Appointment", but there is still " Family Group Appointment (if those family are all applying for the same visa category ie B2 visas. Nevertheless, there is grace clause for the principal applicant (eg the father) to apply together with only one person within the family if such person is applying for a different visa category (ie father is applying for B1 and a daughter is applying for f1).. 👍 |
jeswinner:** Joint application and interview as a family is better than individual interview if your DS-160 indicates same information and mention one another as a family member. However, only children below age 14 are excempted from being interviewed. Mind you, that is just a formality. Children under 14 are generally or naturally honest and they are quick to forget any lies you have taught them. Ipso facto, an intelligent consular can still throw some jabs to your children in order to detect some facts. Once a child can babble a meaningful word then he or she can be stylishly interviewed. 👍 |
Lightdiamond:** This is not a good advice. Aside of losing approximately 300k NGN in this struggling economy. the US embassy can annotate your biometric and forward your record to the 5-eyes as a desperate impending-immigrant if you are caught cutting dangerous corners. 👍 |
PrimePride:** It's not about absolute luck. Besides, everyone has element of luck. Getting visa dates is actually being controlled and shuffled absolutely based on visa applicants population. |
Oluwatosin2000:** Yes but it's probable. By luck, lower population of applicants at that particular time , and your obedience to f1 visa rules and policy. 👍 |
Folayommie:** They should apply together as family since they are all going for the same visa category. But on the day of their visa interview, they must tell the visa officer same story. 👍 |
Peace2025:■■ Be patient. Don't go and exchange your visa destiny with failure. You can still resume in September 12 by asking your school for formal letter to resume a bit late after the start of class. Port of entry officials also understand this present visa scenario. 👍 |
ajebutterpromax:Oga show us the evidence. It doesn't affect me because i am no more in the category of visa applicants. That being said, even if its 1- day visa its going to be indefinite. The best way to transmit genuine info is by evidence. |
Oluwaseun2025:■■ YOU I've been seeing your comments on this matter for some time now, so I know that you'll be in doubt of what I said. Just like I mentioned, you can ask around to clear your doubt. If I were you, I would just upload one of the 3 months of the f1 visas so that i can take it as a reality. In all honesty, i have not seen a 3 months f1 visa since July 10, 2025, and if you can not convince me beyond my doubt, that means you are also generalising. YOU. To your other comment on F1 visa being indefinite, I'm not sure I understand what you mean as that's not the case in principle. Okay, let me make you understand that. When you are given a 1 year student (Bsc) visa this january 2025, and you entered america as a student same year, which means your visa expiration is jan 2026. Did you know that your visa validity is beyond January 2026 (i-94 certificate says duration of status) ? If you do not have any cause to travel out of the U.S.A, then you can use the same f1 visa (issued in Jan 2025 for your Bsc) to finish your phd. perhaps in the next 6 years. You dont need visa when you are inside USA. YOU For a student, once you're in the US, you're legally entitled to stay in the US for the period of your studies. However, if you have a course to travel out of the US, you might need to apply for another visa in the light of this single entry 3-months validity period visa. Let you and I sit down and reason how your thinking above is going to work for all international students in america ? If any student is sick and needs to go home, or attend urgent family meetings and come back to school immediately, such a student will have to go and apply for a re-entry visa? After the Xmas or Sallah holiday, you mean Nigerians, Chinese , Indians , French, Saudi Arabians , Istrealis, etc. will troop to the U.S. embassies in their various countries for another visa in order to go back to school ? Even if the 3-month visa issuance is going to stay on f1 visas, there must be exclusive flexibility for all international students. Otherwise, the U.S. embassy staffs can not handle the loads. 👍 |
Oluwaseun2025:■■ I am 100% in doubts. Help us to scan the visa page here. Kindly cover the private information. I have not seen it. Pls ...I am eager to see it. Mind you. either 3 months or 2 years , F1 visa is indefinite once issued.👍 |
kc6964:■■ The policy applies to some non-immigrant visas NOT ALL. ● Since July 10th they have not issued 3- months visa to any f1 applicant 😀 ● F1 visa is usually indefinite (regardless of the year or month issued) and remember the same student visa is being issued to Chinese , Indians, Europeans etc. Therefore, if the policy will affect f1 visa it must be worldwide. |
Chemist4life:■■ 1.. It is stated in your Form I-20 as a dependency on F1, but as you are applying alone you may mention anyone. 2.. I discovered I was pregnant. My awaiting contract was renewed. You were hospitalized. My kid got government scholarship. Our travel funds was delayed by out bank. Etc . 👍 |
kc6964:■■ 3-months visa policy cannot work on F1 visas . Take it to B1/B2. |
kes4glory:■■ YOU Please someone here should help mentor me, maybe there's something I am doing wrong or I'm not just lucky. Everyone God created has element of luck. You are doing something wrong. YOU I have applied to schools and the story have always been the same rejection upon rejection. See the mail I got from a professor at Grand valley State University. If you are genuinely qualified, one of those schools would have admitted you. U.S. institutions operate Equal Opportunity for All, and admitting international students gives them a reputation. YOU While I have been on this since 2021 , I'm trying my best to keep reaching out to professors, I recently reached out to a professor at Texas and we had a zoom session, the session lasted over an hour and since then she has ghosted me , no response from her even after asking for recommendation letters that I sent to her. As I mentioned above, reaching out to professors or having hours with a professor on Zoom and sending application materials does not guarantee admission. Your overall academic standings doesn’t worth the department you are seeking, and that is what the Texas professor concluded , therefore, getting back to you is not necessary (though she might still get back as profs are usually busy). YOU What should I do? Somebody should mentor me. This bank work don tire me ooooo, I want to practice my passion and do what I really love. I can not accurately direct you until I discover your academic background, i.e., cgpa, course of study, intending program, etc. You may also need more wisdom and concentration in sending out your admission applications. You may also have a problem in the area of SOP and recommendations. 👍 |
Ayinbatun18:■■ Your refusal is not permanent based on that slip. Quickly go to your social media (especially Facebook or the ones you listed in your ds-160) and make some privacy settings to be public..... eg " Who can see my friend list ? Religion... Christian or Muslim ? Who can see my Date of birth ? ●▪︎▪︎ The answers to the above must be everybody, indicate religion, and everyone respectively. Some people will chose only me or friend of friends, some will say i prefer not to say my sex or religion. The U.S. embassy wants everything to be public at least during your visa application. 👍 |
Ayinbatun18:■■ Correct answer will be based on seeing your 221g slip because you may not be able to interpret your issue accurately. If you had hesitated in yielding to the 221g instructions then you have been permanently denied, hence your passport was returned. But psychologically, two things has happened. 1. You have been denied permanently,or 2. You are being asked to go back to your facebook and change privacy settings. Many applicants dont know how to do that. ■ Scrennshot your 221g and the part of your Passport that is annotated. 👍 |
ChiomaCharity:■■ YOU Recently got my visa deny COA: 39k School scholarship: 4k Personal funding: 12k External funding: (from relative) 11k Embassy: Lagos Consulate Your application foundation here is not solid in the sense of POF. Number one, the 4k scholarship, as indicated above, is not a scholarship because any tuition scholarship that doesn’t cover at least 35% out of 100 is just an encouragement token. Number two, you as a student covering 12k needed to prove the sources, and your relative needed to prove the remaining 11k sources beyond doubt. In this respect, combining sponsors or fundings is giving the visa officer a time taking task, which (if you had actually qualified for the visa) needed 221g placement. YOU. Transcript: VO : good morning Me: good morning sir VO: how many schools did you applied to Me: 3 schools I mentioned them………. VO: when did you graduate Me: June of 2016 VO: have you traveled outside the country before Me: No I have not had a reason to till now. VO: won’t approving your visa at this time Me: Thank you, and left with my blue paper Don’t know what to make of this, it was very short Many f1 visa applications with obvious application errors via Form I-20 or DS-160 do not need wasting time upon. The questionnaire above is a formality, but it was based on truth. For example, you graduated in the year 2016 and started working, let's say in the year 2017. Are you telling the visa officer that you saved approximately N20.M NGN ($12,000) within 8 years ? Dont forget to remember the monthly salary you indicated in your ds-160. YOU Quick question: After deferring to spring since fall semester won’t work, can I use same SEVIS for another school, or it has to be the same school, cos I understand the SEVIS expires after one year. Please note, I can only defer to spring according to the school, I can’t defer to another fall term. SEVIS fee is valid for 12 months. If you are reapplying for a visa, you don't need to pay the fee again if you are within the 1 year validity period and yes, it can be transfered. 👍 |
