Thespecialone: Le Chatelier's principle states that if an external constraint such as change in temperature, pressure and concentration is imposed on a chemical system in equilibrium, the equilibrium position will shift so as to annul or neutralize the constraint.
I strongly believe this principle can apply to economics. It largely depends on the individuals concerned. All these our genius Bini Men! *prostrates* |

phantonce: I've never for once like importation as I believe it is a cheap means of getting out of poverty and is meant for lazy people. Am a manufacturer and I also like consuming locally made product. Even though manufacturing in nigeria is strenuous, the joy of having what is yours supercedes everything and not to talk about the gain which is massive. I don't think I need to reply this anymore. Its shallow thought and the poster acknowledged.macklef: Mehn am fecking tired of this country. My ogas in the house, mastercee, ymodulus, mayorall, kennyman20 and all. I can remember that artist name but i remember that chorus. It was like this, ''Shey na like this wr go dey dey, na like this we go dey dey?" I think i shot myself with my last deal, for the first time, i feel like returning my clients money. I know we all are feeling the heat of this year end economic crises but mehn is there any way to mitigate it? I collected a deal based on my calculation of 8usd/kg+ 480 normal charge, only for me to get an alert that Shipping charges are up, i bused kennyman20, bro with his inspirational words told me to just bear the hike n leave my client outa it. I obliged cos i knew it was a thoughtful course. Guys, dollar was 177 on the said date, now the useless naira has gone up to 183. With their stupid 100,000 cash limit policy on atms i have to withdraw 3rice. Within this time I was to remit over 15000rmb, only to be told 1yaun is now 30naira. Over 20k is lost to exchange rate. Abeg which way forward na. Must i bear this one too because am a good boy? Guys please, advice me. Some of the money has already been sent n sellers been part payed but how do i offset thus over 20k deficit. What kinda stupid country is this? Amefrica, can i come n share room with u there? I wanna school in canada too, i dont mind d cold abeg. . Buddy, do calm down. Being an importer in Nigeria has its twist and turns and coping with a weak domestic currency is one. Business has its deficcits always and this scenario is just part of lessons one could learn. Moving on, you must understand you're not alone in this current quagmire and thus must proceed to think it through. Importers operating in countries [Not just oil hit ones] with weak domestic currencies are feeling pinched now more than any time in recent memory. A few solutions You [We all] could employ is by asking your suppliers to reduce prices on the said products. Discuss with them and relay the situation you're facing. Nurture relationships and ensure you have a supplier that takes care of you. Also, we all know our weak currency value at the moment already tends to make imports more expensive for us all clearly but do we all know that some products don't need to even be shipped. For Example, Why ship a power bank when you can get from Mayorall at a fantastic rate? Regardless of the dollar’s exchange rate at the moment, applying business sense to every deal is crucial. Profitability for a business is not the major thing always but make your customers glad [with delivery and all] and things would fall in line. You must bear it in mind that if your products simply won’t sell at a higher price point on arrival, look inward. Mayorall, TYConcepts, amongst others have several products on ground that most are trying to get. The issues with the currency can't make one "surrender" Buddy. It only calls for inventiveness for the process such that armed with strategies l, We won't need to always battle the negative effects of the naira and devaluation. |

Politics › Re: Obasanjo Bombs Jonathan Again: Your Evil Actions Destroying Nigeria by Eghosa1(m): 6:37am On Dec 02, 2014 |
Ymodulus: Thank you for your first paragraph remarks. Let me answer your question paragraphically.
APC is an acronym for ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS. To get a clear indebt soaked full meaning you have to look beyond the peripheral meaning of these three words ALL + PROGRESSIVE + CONGRESS as this will give you more understanding as to what the APC stands for. On the APC representing an alternate vision to Nigerians, that clearly depends on what your definition of ' alternate vision of Nigeria ' is? I will urge you to be explicit on this, as I don't know what your perception of Nigerians vision is. We have; 1. The Umbrellized Nigerians who believe their vision for Nigeria is to keep endangering the country till its death. 2. We have another set of Nigerians who believe their vision for this country is to remain as stable as it is. 3. O do not forget another category of Nigerians call the progressive who have the vision of Nigeria been among the world economies with Trace element of corruption by Year 2018 not 2020 etc.
I have listed only but a few of the alternate visions of Nigerians, so sir please be specific.
Sir you failed to see the well tailored policy statements and cultured solutions that can re-dress this country because you have not really asked to know what they are. I am even amazed as to why you asking this, because as PROGRESSIVES, our policy and solutions / plans for this nation is glaring and needs no scopic view. But if you need more light some of my fellows here will address you as I have little or no time left at my place of work. Why don't you ask any of APC monickers on this forum they will be happy to do more justice to this.
Sir on the issue of prerogative/ disparaging statement to another. please I do like you to back your claims with hard facts. As a PROGRESSIVE I do not indulge in form of Propagandic Talks, I heard the Umbrellized Party (PDP) does so, I don't know if you are one. But I will not comment further on this until you've back your claims with proofs.
To your last paragraph, it pains me when people come up with statements as to the APC not coming up with reasonable solutions, to the sand-like problems facing the country.
Please Nairaland it, Google it, Facebook it, twitter it, Yahoo it, Bing it, Lindaikeji it. APC has - is - will, always continue to prefer solutions to the high level of problems facing us all as and nation at Large.
One of the current solutions by the APC, is the impeachment of the President with a suitable replacement that can salvage the country from grass to Grace.
I rest my case.
Ymodulus Finally had time for a rejoinder. Pardon its late coming Buddy as its due to my schedule and this you know. To give a dip of what my thoughts are on both parties would be that in a contest where it remains the PDP or APC and I'm asked to vote, i would vote the PDP (to maintain balance) and weep copiously. Nigeria is a complex nation and for me, unwavering geniuses perhaps would be what it takes to rescue us. Not the APC. From time immemorial, opposition party in well organized democracies are known for initiatives, ideas and agendas that either match or surpass that of the Govt in power. This is what attracts citizens to them. In Nigeria today, this is highly rare as its a prejudiced jamboree of all sorts amongst today's APC stalwarts. You asked me for facts and I'd try to give those i can recall. On Wednesday, Nov 5, 2014, at Ilorin, Kwara State, the APC leaders with their Governors, converged for a party affair and in their now usual manner of revelry, proceeded to hurl indulging insults at the President and afterwards asked Him to resign. About two weeks later, On November 19, this same crop of "progressive" APC leaders unfurled the much pinched wrapped rumours by declaring that they would lead a rebellion against President Jonathan and install a parallel government should APC lose next year’s presidential election. Statements as such Buddy aren't "PROGRESSIVE". they're solely Anti. I believe Nigerians can do without both parties if the right orientation is brought forward and integrity is cultivated. Currently as a Nation, we are bereft of progress and the APC is not the solution. I do not believe in the APC as a progressive party solely cos of its ideological lacuna. |

Charged 189.3 Naira to a Dollar today by My Bank for a small transaction. The continuous crippling of the Naira is alarming. Nigerians and indeed mini / top level importers should prepare for a hard time. Consumers are indeed affected as well.
Despite the devaluation from the exchequer, so much demand for the dollar daily is still shattering the naira and its on all time low.
One need not say that the Nigerian Govt Must explore non oil productive activities. |

condi1704: Dear All, will the strike by these licencing agents at NAHCO affect those goods bought on free shipping to be collected at the post office?. Enlightenment is appreciated. Yes, they will Buddy. Everything concerning shipment is affected. The country is losing lots daily due to the fracas between NCS and LCC.
Just hope a truce is reached this week as the New CAC is like a Sanitizer and won't back down cos' there's So much rot in the cargo processing section of NAHCO.
measures must be put in place to forestall occurrence of this in the future too. |

Politics › Re: Obasanjo Bombs Jonathan Again: Your Evil Actions Destroying Nigeria by Eghosa1(m): 4:44pm On Nov 26, 2014 |
Ymodulus: The, Greatest undoing of Jonathan's government is that it does not see, hear or feel that there is any sense in any reasoning outside of his own reasoning. The effect is that Mr President and his effusive goons are locked out from reality. They live in Jupiter. And that is exactly why a monumental shock and rude awakening is likely to tap them on their shoulders come February next year.
Given the gullibility of the people of this country, if the party didn't give the Presidency to an unbearable failure like Jonathan, the PDP could have ruled this country for another 40 to 50 years. But Jonathan will now surely bring the madness to an end by imploding the behemoth machinery and oligarchy of impunity, lawlessness, corruption and misrule known as the PDP. PDP must vacate the center come February 2015. That is the only way forward for the democracy and development of this country.
Its high time we vote in a progressive that will replenish the Nation's Lost Glory. Let me leave you with the words of Jane Addams.
"Unless our conception of patriotism is progressive, it cannot hope to embody the real affection and the real interest of the nation." - Jane Addams I usually don't like to respond on Nairaland's political forum but You're My Buddy always Man thus permit me.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is more often referred to as Nigeria’s main opposition party but i find a question still unanswerable by many of its ilk. What exactly does the APC stand for? Does it represent an alternative vision for Us Nigerians?
The APC Folks continue to showcase themselves as credible opposition for Nigerians and the antidote to the current misrule(in their words) of GEJ but I'm yet to honestly see policy statements and well tailored solution offering that would alleviate our plight. Its from one pejorative and disparaging statement to another.
The Govt of the day is facing tumultuous challenges and the least required of an opposition is tactical solutions. This would atleast hint us of your blueprint cos' Its easier to haul insults. Only He who wears the shoe knows where it pinches.

Spoke with a customs supremo today (to see how i could get out my packages) and it appears this debacle is in for long as not much of positivity was gotten from the conversation at all. Only DHL currently works at NAHCO. The country is losing alot and licensing agents aren't even ready to reach amicable resolutions as they loathe the CAC. Those with packages should by all measure inform their clients of this development as its an unfortunate and unforseen act. You shouldn't be blamed for this. I've gone ahead to inform my esteemed clients already as regardless of how sad it is, there's little one can do.
Inform them of the development, Maintain your integrity. |

eph12: Those guys are always having issues I quite understand where you're coming from but this issue at the moment is a general affair [Be it American or china agents]. Its a CAC Versus LCA issue and sure it'd be tackled and resolved this week. I have used most of them for varying kilogram shipment and one can't point out any for excellence. Everyone is just so so and even our customs clearance format also adds to their palava.
Nonetheless, Regulation remains something they need to have. |

Greetings Great Buddies, Trust today's going blessed [FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING].
I apologize for being away for some days as its been due to a hectic work regiment.
Got projects I'm handling thus it curtails my ability to always post online.
However Buddies, I'm always available on WHATSAPP or via email thus you can drop me a message there. Lots of people have done that [Nairalanders andd Guest Nairalanders] and they've gone on to order their products.
So folks, if i don't reply here on time, do holler via the above communication channel.
Also, as we continuously keep this free importation thread alive, would want those who place orders to understand that the dollar rate currently fluctuates as what it is today could change today or tomorrow at an increasing or decreasing pace. Do bear when i give quotations and then tell you its no so again the next day. I do this free of commission and thus wouldn't want to incur deficits for myself.
Thanks Everyone for the prayers and kind words continuously.
Let's Have a blessed new week!
P.S >> Photos of several items ordered and dispatched during my absence here would be posted underneath.
