Politics › Nigerian Youths In Need Of Buhari This 2015 by egift(op):
Over the years we have heard that the "Youths are Leaders of Tomorrow" - an important reality that has eluded us in contemporary history in Nigeria.

The mentality of the Nigerian youths have been systematically bastardized that it now feels normal (even natural) that nothing can be done without bribery, you can't get any benefits without knowing someone, picking up arms, etc. The current crop of Nigerian leaders have imbibed these negatives tendencies in us to keep the Nation's wealth in the hands of the few and hold the larger proportion of the Nation in perpetual poverty.

Anyone who knows, will tell you that Nigeria have actually had times when the entire institutions of governance actually work. Today the entire system of governance in Nigeria has been corrupted and functions to the detriment of our future - it is totally unacceptable.

As Youths, we must do what is necessary to salvage our future and see that institutions of governance and development are revamped to work for the benefit of every law-abiding citizen of Nigeria (irrespective of gender, ethnicity, region, etc). That the government provides all needed infrastructures, securities, punish criminality, and empower and support Nigerians.

Come February 14th this 2015, we have before us two distinctive choices - GEJ vs GBM - Either to continue with a leadership that has failed us OR to Change it, fix things and create a better, brighter and a more vibrant Nigeria together.

Corruption and Lack of Effective Management by those in positions of Leadership are largely the reasons why we are in our current predicament - We must correct it. Now is a golden opportunity for us to start the process of fixing the issues, facilities, structures, systems, sectors and any other area that is clogging the wheel of Development in Nigeria.

Don't give heed to the naysayers who will tell you it is not possible to fix what is broken in Nigeria, they just want to maintain their looting loopholes and inflamed corrupt exploits of the treasury.

Our future as leaders of Tomorrow is in our hands and thumbs to craft. Am very confident that together as Nigerian Youths with Buhari and Osinbajo and other competent Nigerians in the helms of affairs, we can craft a better Nigeria for us all. "Arise O Compatriot, Nigeria call Obey".

God bless us all - Cheers!

Gej Need to match them blow for blow, tit for tart, dirty forty if need be.

Meanwhile my take on Buhari who they claim would bring us change.

I have never seen any school built in his name.
* I have never seen any borehole constructed by him.
* There is no record of any scholarship
awarded by him or for him nor through him.
* I have never seen him use his popularity to canvass for any charitable work nor any humanitarian
effort, not even at the height of the polio scourge where other
purposeful and prominent leaders lead the campaign for immunization.
* No single text book has been donated to any school either by him, for him or through him.
* Asides from doing nothing, he has not improved himself
since his exit from office.
* No book written, no memoirs, no lectures, nothing.
* The only thing of note he can point to are his numerous interviews on the BBC Hausa station.
* He never champion for a university in his state nor has he ever been involved in any kind of programme to better the lives of the Almajiris in Daura.
* His entire existence has not led to any meaningful development in Daura, yet they say he can change Nigeria.
Doesn't charity begin at home again?
* No wonder he was referred to as being ''perpetually unelectable''.
* He is not a patron to any organization, group or association.
* No professional body in Nigeria has ever invited him for their lecture, convention or gala night.
* The only time any known form, body or human assemblage ever chose him to do
anything for them was when the Boko Haram terrorist sect nominated him as their spoke person in the proposed talks with the Fed. Govt in Saudi Arabia but he refused... He recently joined twitter because of election...he recently went to church services becos of elections

truth of the matter is its not left for Buhari or GEJ alone. Its for us as citizens to decide what we want and when we want it. How many of you can challenge your LG chairperson for non-performance? How many of you have written to the House to tell them your representative is not representing your people well? How many have complain that the money allocated for the road to your village is being allocated every year and yet nothing is done but going into private pockets? GEJ told you how much Senators are making with the information bill what did you do with that info. Stop blaming GEJ for a 50 year old broken system, he is working on it strategically. Just cutting off the toe does not stop the spread of cancer to the rest of the body. Agriculture and business has thrived in Nigeria like never before. Under Buhari it failed!
Ndigbo have a saying that when the source of water is dirty, it flows down the stream. For Corruption to stop in Nigeria and for their to be good governance in Nigeria, it must start from the top.

Father Mbaka says Jonathan courts corrupt officials
Category: Lead stories Published on Friday, 02 January 2015 05:01 Written by Tony Adibe

. We will fight corruption, President says
Renowned Enugu-based Catholic priest Rev. Father Camillus Ejike Mbaka yesterday reversed his support for President Goodluck Jonathan over his inability to stop corruption and loss of innocent lives.

He spoke while delivering a sermon tagged, “From Good luck to Bad luck,” during the end-of-year mass Wednesday night at the Adoration Ground, Emene, Enugu.

Rev. Father Mbaka, Founder of Adoration Ministry, Enugu said Jonathan has surrounded himself with very corrupt public officials. As a result, he said, the President has turned a blind eye to their corrupt activities while millions of Nigerians suffer daily in abject poverty and endless insecurity.

He said: “Jonathan has ruled for six years. We need change. NEPA is not working because of corruption. The privatization of public companies has not yielded any fruit because of corruption.

“Jonathan surrounded himself with very corrupt officers who advise him. Nigerians are sick and tired of wasting innocent lives without government doing enough to stop the destruction.”

He said he and millions of Nigerians were disappointed by the government’s failure to ensure the release of the Chibok girls kidnapped by the Boko Haram terrorists over 200 days ago.

“Up till now, nobody knows the whereabouts of the innocent Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram and we say we have a government that cannot guarantee the welfare, safety and security of the citizens,” he told the congregation of over 30,000 worshippers.

The cleric said he resisted delivering the sermon which he said came from the Holy Ghost but that God warned him to ensure the message was given to the nation not minding whose ox was gored.

Fr. Mbaka recently anointed Mrs. Patience Jonathan as the next First Lady in 2015. The First Lady, and the Deputy Senate President Senator Ike Ekweremadu worshipped at the Adoration Ministry where the First Lady admitted that she experienced “a spiritual rebirth.”
Fr. Mbaka that day released some birds that he said would go and fight for Jonathan.

But on Wednesday night Fr. Mbaka said Jonathan was going nowhere as far as next year’s election was concerned, recalling that one of the birds – which he released during Mrs. Jonathan’s visit has refused to fly.

“All the other birds I released flew away but the healthiest of them which is Jonathan’s bird could not fly. I tried to make it fly but it could not fly,” he recalled to a hugely excited congregation that cheered him on.

When Jonathan was aspiring to become Nigeria’s President, Mbaka said he was happy like other Nigerians but that the bad luck which millions of the citizens had faced since he came into office was quite disturbing; hence the masses want a change.

“Nigerians are calling for change. We need a change,” he repeated. “We don’t want to move from bad luck to bad luck; Nigerians want to move from bad luck to good luck,” he said.

Fr. Mbaka criticised other priests who, he alleged, visited the Presidential Villa and other Government Houses in the country to hold “Breakfast Prayer” with the politicians only to collect fat envelopes of money rather than “tell the politicians the level of hardship the poor masses are suffering.”

He added: “The men of God only go there to dine and wine with the leaders for their own welfare without telling them the truth. But I’m happy that I, Fr. Mbaka, I’m not that type of priest. If you want money, I dash you money because the God I serve has blessed me abundantly.”

Commenting on the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari, Fr. Mbaka, said Buhari cannot Islamise Nigeria as being rumoured in some circles.

He said he had never met the General but recalled that he fought corruption seriously as Head of State.
“I don’t know Buhari. I have never sat with him before. I am not being partisan, but I want total change in Nigeria.

“Buhari cannot make Nigeria an Islamic country because we are in democracy. It was IBB government that dragged Nigeria into OIC. When Buhari fought corruption, people became careful about their actions. Anyone who says Buhari will Islamise Nigeria is not being fair,” said Mbaka.

He added that he was not bothered whether the next President would be a Northerner or Yoruba or Igbo so long as the person fights corruption and means well for the citizens.

“If a northerner will rule the country and insecurity will stop, so be it. If a Yoruba man will rule Nigeria in 2015 and we have peace and stop the shedding of innocent blood, so be it. Nigerians are tired of wasting innocent lives,” he said.

The end-of-year Adoration mass was attended by some notable politicians from Enugu, Ebonyi and Anambra States.

Jonathan did some. As long as corruption is draining the purse of the Nation, cloaking the wheel of progress in Nigeria - there is no amount of efforts that will be put into governance that will yield the desired results.

Nigerians are demand that Jonathan be voted out because he and those that surround him in this administration are actually the perpetrators and biggest beneficiaries of the massive corruption going on in government. I am sure you were not therre but here is a true life account
You people are trying your best, but no matter how you clean a pig and dress it up it still go be pigooo
After the fall in oil price in the early 70s, Nigeria's earns was heavy affected. To make matters worst, the successive governments mismanaged affairs especially that of Shagari where people in government looting like no tomorrow. The Buhari administration cut down on spending in order to sustain the economy. You may have to look up the meaning of "Austerity".

As Jonathan has squandered Nigeria's resources in the days of plenty. With falling Oil price and value of Naira - the same incident is kicking in again.

Why Buhari is needed is that moving forward, we need to stop the money falling through the cracks holes of Corruption, invest in short and long term plans to diversify the economy, invest in building infrastructural development to create short and long term jobs, empower Nigerians with economic package to be able to start and expand their business/enterprise, support business that will in turn employ Nigerians, Invest in the future through through Education, Health, etc, Create opportunities for Nigerians in Technology, Science, Agriculture, Mining, research, ect. Buhari will also invest in Rural development to reduce migration and even depopulate the congestion in cities.

There are many other things that will be done. Nigeria needs Buhari because we don't want a man who plays to the gallery like Jonathan. Six years as President he is still promising to articulate a plan for the major problem facing Nigeria.

After six years in office our president is still "coming up" with an anti corruption plan. What a big shame.
Politics › After 6 Years Of Massive Looting, Jonathan Now Wants To Fight Corruption by egift(op): 4:03am On Jan 02, 2015
President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday said his administration’s strategy against corruption was to strengthen the capability of institutions to nip the menace in the bud.

He said his idea of anti-corruption war was not about arresting suspects and parading them on the television.

Jonathan spoke during a special New Year service at the Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Area 1, Garki, Abuja.

He admitted that the two main problems currently confronting the country were insecurity and corruption.

The President said his administration was making efforts to tackle the challenges.

He said, “There are two main problems confronting us as a nation: The issue of insecurity in the North where we have the Boko Haram terrorists and in the South where we have commercial kidnapping. The next thing that people worry about after security is the issue of corruption.

“We are coming out with programmes and plans to clean up. These are things that you don’t just use a magical wand to wave off, otherwise even before I became the President, there wouldn’t have been corruption in Nigeria.

“It is not just about shouting corruption. It is not about looking at one person, arrest the person and show him on television.

“It is about strengthening institutions and coming up with credible plans to make sure that anybody who gets involved with corruption, the system must have a way of detecting him and punishing him.

“Until you put such a system on ground, you cannot talk about eradicating corruption, you will just be celebrating corruption.”

On security challenges, Jonathan said the Federal Government was working hard to restore peace to the country.

He noted that the festive period had been relatively peaceful due to prayers and government’s efforts.

The President said, “You would have noticed that from Christmas to New Year, at least, it has been calm. It did not happen by accident.

“It happened because you have been praying for this country and the government has also been doing something. We do not need to announce what we are doing.

“With your prayers, we will surely get there. We will continue to come up with programmes that will help the ordinary people.

“The same way we won the war against Ebola, we shall win the terror war.”

Again, Jonathan described 2015 as a turning point in the history of the country because of the forthcoming general elections.

He said, “2015 is a turning point because of the elections. Some people will not mind if half of the country get burnt because of their ambition.

“I always say that we must have a country first, we must have a people first before talking about ambition.

“We must pray that God should give us the wisdom to do things with some decorum and we should not compromise the lives of the people for ambition.

“I always say that my ambition and the ambition of any politician for that matter, is not worth the blood of the smallest Nigerian.”

Jonathan argued that no nation could move forward without proper vision.

According to the President, before now the country had, at different times, been administered based on 25-year and five-year plans before the annual budget system was adopted.

He said after sometime, things collapsed and the government was being run on emergency basis.

The President said the old days when the government was run with vision would be revisited.

“For you to achieve anything, you must have a clear vision. Even if you look at what we have been doing as a nation, you will really see that before this time when the country used to have this 25 years plan, the budget was based on 25 years clear plan for the country. So you know where you are going for 25 years.

“Then it was broken down into five years plan and annual budget and we knew where we were going.

“But after some time, things collapsed and we run government on emergency basis and you see government start wobbling.

“We are going back to those good days when we had vision. We have plan for agriculture, we have plan for industry, we have plan for automobile and many other areas.

“If you have a vision, any proposal that comes in, no matter how good they are, must fall into your vision for it to go through. With your prayers, surely as a nation, we will get to where our vision will take us to.

“Having passed through school and being in government for quite some time, I have realised that for you to achieve anything, you must have a clear vision.

“If you have a clear vision, even if you don’t get the exact target, you will get something close to the target,” he added.

The church’s Senior Pastor, Dr. Paul Enenche, had in his sermon titled, “The life of vision,” pointed out to the congregation that how they began the New Year would determine how they would end it.

While saying that the quality of a foundation would determine the integrity of a building, Enenche said the quality of the year would be determined by the foundation laid by individuals.

He stated that a clear definition of a destination was a major requirement for a successful journey.

“If you don’t know where you are going, you may not like where you will end up. Vision is a clear picture of a preferred future. To live by chance is to end by chance,” the clergyman declared.

The pastor, however, said it was important for the people to follow the right principle if they must get the right result.

“God is not a respecter of persons. Either you know Him or not, if you follow the right principle, you will get the right result.

“Pastors go on holiday in Dubai without considering religion in as much as they get excellence. Nobody cares about your religion, sex or ethnic group, once you do it well,” Enenche said.

Jonathan was accompanied to the service, held under tight security, by his mother, Eunice; his children and top government officials.

The special service featured special prayers for the country, testimonies and special choir rendition among others.

He has one month to give Nigeria all the money that was looted when he was Deputy Governor, Governor, VP and Six years as President. Jonathan like many who are campaigning against Buhari are just afriad of giving account of how they have managed Nigeria's wealth.
