My own car isn't a liability. Hope you'll call your phone a liability as well or even children, siblings. Some families aren't even in talking terms, yet people claim them, how much more a high value property that you personally own. I kind of disagree with the bolded. Your car is part of your asset and it may have an impact on your application. You just need to let the officer know the monetary value. Some cars worth more than land my brother. I hear people attach landed documents but they don't tell the officer the value. So what's the point? The point of a prooving economic tie is just to show that you're doing well in your home country.

Yes, you may choose to sell your car just as how you can sell your land and houses.
