Losing my 2 weeks old Samsung galaxy S9 taught me one lesson; Material things will pass away. After all efforts to find my phone, I just performed a remote wipe via Google and moved on. I got another one but became more careful with my smartphone. OP you're lucky

Putting your phone on alarm can save your phone if stolen.

Normally, when you set your phone on alarm, even if the phone is switched off it will ring.

It happened some time ago, when I left my phone on charge before going to bed. Wake up in the morning, and to my vast surprise I couldn't find it. On daily basis, I will set two alarms. One - 5am for going for lectures, and the other 4pm - for reading.

This time, I slept very early, got up early to go and urinate, and checked for the phone. It wasn't there.

At exactly 3:23am, I woke my roommates up, asked them whether they saw the phone I plugged on charge. The obvious answers, I got from them were, 'No', 'I thought it was there' and 'I saw it there when I came back from class.' I searched, searched and searched all over but didn't find it. Called my line - it was switched off.

Cutting it short, at exactly 5:00am, my phone started ringing from unknown source. It ranged continuously until I was about able trace it. I found the phone in a bag of rice, inside a full bag rice. And the person who even took the phone assisted me vigorously, telling me where to search for the phone.

Apparently, the guy that hid the phone was waiting for daybreak so that he can go and sell it to someone else. But then the alarm got him busted!

So guys, you see the power of setting your phone on alarm. Even if you can't track it, for as long as your alarm is 'ON' and it is close-by, it will ring. Please share this to your loved ones.
very good but one don't know when a phone might be stolen.

Reiterating her commitment to being a brand that cares beyond just creating a smartphone for everyone, Africa’s customer-centric brand, itel Mobile, has again set the standard for what it means to put customers first, as they gifted two brand new Corolla cars to two of their phone sub-dealers in Lagos, Nigeria.

This is in recognition of the sub-dealers’ exhibition of diligence and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
The overjoyed customers received the cars on the 5th of March, 2019, which was presented to them by Kevin Zhang, the Country Manager of itel Mobile, in the presence of their family, well-wishers, and itel management staff.
For itel Mobile, it isn’t just the trendy, reliable and affordable smartphones that brought them closer to the hearts of Nigerians, rather, it is the way the brand shows her appreciation and support to customers through CSR campaigns and other personalized marketing activities.

Speaking on the surprise gifts, Oke Umurhohwo, Marketing Communications Manager itel mobile said:
“ There are a couple of things about itel Mobile that makes us different from other brands. One of them is our passion and commitment to creating a seamless experience that provides exceptional service and support to our customers. Beyond our promise to deliver affordable and reliable products, we are a brand with a culture that involves extending care and support, all in a bid to create customer happiness”
Sometimes great service means getting out of your customer’s way and creating happiness by giving them the necessary tools to meet their needs. These unique and unexpected gifts from itel Mobile is one of their ways of showing they actually care.

For the year 2019, itel Mobile is surely just getting started with her box of surprises and we could only imagine what the brand has up her sleeves in the second quarter of the year and the rest to come.
Good move. Them try

Now this is more like it. Compare this to the first one up top and see that the first one kinda looks washed out.
You should note that the reason why the screen was showing 'washed' was because of the error message that appeared on the screen hereby giving more focus to the error message. Yet you calm to know all about your Xiaomi

Hello house, please, I need help here. I am using a Xiaomi note 5 model which I got last year August. Presenty, I can't check my airtime balance, subscribe to certain services using the USSD codes. Whenever I dial for e.g *556# to check my account balance, I get an error message which makes me unable to access my account balance and subscribe to services which need the use of USSD codes.
But my consolation has always come from the second space in the phone. The second space which serves as a private space in the phone doesn't face this issue. But it's stressful having to switch from the main space to the second space before I can recharge my phone, make subscriptions and all of that.
Please, anyone with similar issue?? Help out please. Thanks
The screen shot of the error message is below
My brother's Xiaomi Note 4 also does this.

8th of June wasn’t like any other day. It was my birthday!

Waking up wasn’t as hard as any normal day, I was eager to hear the yearly “Happy Birthday” greeting from my friends and family. I was positive for what was to come that day, especially the gifts I may or may not receive. Still, I was thankful.

Event of the day was already planned out and in it was the official phone launch of TECNO Spark 2 where I was to represent MobilityArena. I had no special birthday plan for my birthday so that launch was going to be the highlight of my day.

Since it was my birthday, I thought to give myself a treat and called an Uber driver. I was the birthday girl, after all, I should arrive in style. Uber driver finally arrived 40 minutes later than the expected time but thankfully the organizer of the launch was being a Nigerian: the legendary “African Time” format used to delay the start of program and event was in place.

Upon arrival and registration, I was given the last card torn out of a booklet tagged “Raffle ticket” and I was told that there will be a raffle draw at the end of the launch.

Music, comedy, talks and dance came later on and finally, the raffle was being drawn. It was announced that the gifts to be won from the raffle draw was the newly launched TECNO Spark 2 and that they were going to pick just three (3), winners. The chance was slim but it piqued my interest so much that I started praying to the God of luck and chance asking to be given a birthday present. In my prayers, I gave the reason why I should be among the winners. LOL, I had just had my phone stolen and wasn’t in a good financial position to get a good phone. That was also supposed to be my first tangible birthday gift.

The first winner was called but I still had my fingers crossed, second winner but it still wasn’t my name and raffle number. By this time, my heart was already racing. This could be the fastest prayers answered yet. The third name was drawn and my name was called but it sounded so foreign to me. They called the name again before I finally responded grinning from ear to ear. I collected my win from them but it was just too surreal. I actually won a spark 2. LOL, I uploaded a picture almost everywhere and I can still remember my caption “June 8 Magic”. TECNO finally made my birthday worth every Uber delay. I was Elated! I flaunted and told the story to anyone who cared to listen that I won a brand new Spark 2. My best friend, Sonia even got hers the very week it came out in the market. Yes! We were lighting up our world with the new Spark 2.

Fast forward to five months later when my birthday phone suddenly went off. Imagine my fear! My birthday gift! That was short lived as it came on later. I didn’t think much about what happened but I was just glad that was just the end of it.

I thought wrong! It wasn’t the end! It continued that way for months but this time after it came on, I had to always restart the phone for it to function well. That wasn’t just it. Recorded videos started pausing on its own when playing back (This is not a storage problem. It happens even with a memory card in it), camera quality mysteriously reduced (Sonia’s own is still the same even after months).

This is not even the height of it. My original TECNO charger that came with the phone got burnt when the generator at the office supplied very high voltage and I needed to get a replacement ASAP. Normally, an original TECNO charger should be able to boost up my battery percent. It is a TECNO phone after all, but it didn’t. I returned the charger the next day and accused the man who sold it to me of selling me a fake charger that couldn’t charge my phone. Three chargers after and still couldn’t find any that can boost up my phone. Even Sonia’s Charger still couldn’t charge the phone. I got home disappointed but still hopeful that something will come up. Then I decided to try Spectranet charging cord with my TECNO adaptor and surprisingly it showed the charging indicator. Charging is extremely slow but hey it charges! A Spectranet cord coming through for me where a TECNO Cord couldn’t.

I see what had happened. As painful as it is, I still must admit it. I was given a test product.

Writing this, I got two of my friends who bought theirs to send a screenshot of their security patch levels. While theirs is dated February and March 2019, mine is still dated March 2018, two months before the phone was officially launched. Again, I say “Test Product”.

As much as I appreciate the thought of giving a phone to customers, I still need to ask: Why give a defective device?
If it's still within the warranty period, take it to carlcare and it would be repaired for free. And besides, TECNO don't release test phone to the market and they possibly won't give you test phone, that's bad PR.
