Does the time of application affect the processing time? Let's say I applied when the processing time was 11 weeks, after waiting for good 5 weeks the processing time was changed to 16 weeks, do one need to wait for an additional 11 weeks instead of the 6 weeks one was having left? 1 Like |

gokejay: If you haven't heard anything about the dean's scholarship as at now simply means you have been rejected (sorry for the harsh words). Your supervisor applied for you so he ought to have gotten the decision as at now. Better still, mail awards@usask.ca to inquiry about the scholarship. I also advice you mail your supervisor asking him about the result, he ought to have been communicated on the outcome. Lest I forget, have you gotten an admit? |

[quote author=Folaroyal post=55112352] I really need help. I am trying to upload some IRCC forms and it happens that I could not view it with the reader I am using. I have also tried using adobe acrobat to fill the form for online submission. My fear is that if I upload the form this way, the visa office might not be able to view it with another reader |

Any one in the house to help me on how to make this decision? Having secured admission and funding at the University of Saskatchewan, I am left with study permit decision. I am a student at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Rwanda and I will only be done in June. Meanwhile, if I have to study come September, I have to make application now. If I make applications on-line, I am not certain the institution will allw me to come back home for my biometrics; even if I do, how do I come back if my passport is collected? I am left with the option of applying from here...........The experienced ones in the house can advice, should I do it from here? 1 Like |

Eraytee: Please, I am reposting this again, does anyone have an idea of what I am talking about in the online application. "During the on-line application track, I found this question; but I was unable to open the list of 6 designated countries. Can you please help, those that are experienced with the on-line application eligibility form. "Have you visited or lived in any one of the designated countries for 6 consecutive months in the last year?"" |

House, my supervisor at the University of Saskatchewan mailed me last night just to inform me that the Dean's scholarship application he filed for me to support my PhD work has been rejected; although there are backup from his side. He categorically stated that this was based on the fact that the committee see me as someone with little or no research experience (I got a direct PhD admission to the department of biomedical engineering). From my supervisor's side the Canadian space agency has given him grants to support some of his PhD students, he later sent me a letter of assistantship that I have been awarded $ 20,000 for up to 4 years. Is this sufficient to show at the embassy, aside this what do the experienced ones think about this. Specifically, I have shown interest in one of the MRI projects the Canadian space agency has funded. |

dokkitaa: @ Dokittaa, precisely I graduated from the department of physics, University of Lagos (first class); I also had a my undergraduate thesis published with my supervisor. I am in a Masters program presently with major interest in mathematical biology and modeling ( I am not even done with my MS program), my recent interest spans tumor modeling and I will be completing this program in June. I was admitted into a direct PhD program in the U of S i.e my admission does not depend on my Masters score sheet. For the last part of your question, I would say most schools in Canada without the exception of U of S has this policy of you contacting supervisors first; Yes, I did contact a supervisor who indicated interest in my work in the biomedical engineering department, we had a skype interview session with my prospective co-supervisor and it took like 2 months before he recommended me for admission. 2 Likes |

Austinpee4: Many thanks for your swift reply. I think aside the funding I am expecting which will be more than enough, I have got no job........From bachelors to PhD.... I will be able to show proof of landed properties of my retired parents. However, I don not know if this will be convincing enough to make the VO believe I will be coming back? It all depends on how I present my case. |

Guys, I am Hamid by name. I applied to the University of Saskatchewan and my offer letter is here(PhD Biomedical Engineering), I await funding. Could you please let me know how long it takes for the Canadian embassy to process study permits? In addition, what documents do you think will be necessary for the application process? |
