Good morning peeps, I am a newbiz on this forum and would like to ask few questions. A very good friend of mine was denied study visa to the US on no grounds. The visa officer did not even mention to him why his application was refused. The only question he was asked was that, do you have a wife? Will you be going with your children? Which year did you complete high school? he first said 2007 and quickly said 2011, due to the educational system that exist in his country (Ghana) made up of Junior high school (JHS) and Senior high school (SHS). He completed the JHS in 2007 and SHS in 2011, this created the confusion. Though he had certificate to justify but they did not ask. Guys what might be the reason for the denial and how can he tackle that in the next application. |

Application documents: All CIC documents, My personal documents(all relevant credentials and CV), Letter of explanation(Had to explain to the VO why I have to switch between courses and now PhD Engineering.), and Loads of prayers!.
I was requested to provide proof of fund transfer by CIC having secured funding from my supervisor. Many thanks to @mazuide , @wealth, and @Judebebo32 encouraging me to keep my hopes high and to be positive. Sincerely, I was having no SOA to show and I didn't show any, but I wrote a letter to the visa officer clarifying my funding status at the University. I got a status update 2weeks and some days. It will end in praise! |

KweenCee: Good day my people,
I did biometrics yesterday. I got a mail for CIC that my account has been updated. When i logged in to check the update, i didn't see anything. Also, the biometrics status has not been updated. They still say that "an action is required". Please is anything wrong with my application? Why is biometrics status not changing to received? Why are my not seeing the update even after getting an update mail? Please gurus answer so i can calm my nerves.
Thanks. No qualms bro, it will be updated...it happens. |

kalohenic: Today is that day the glory of God is revealed.
I just got a mail from CIC requesting for my passport. Without any request for proof of fund transfer...it can only be Oluwa! He's fully involved.
I am just overjoyed.
A big thank you to TheSoj for reviewing my SOP and documents and guiding me on my application generally.
Justwise I am very grateful for your input and for this platform of knowledge.
Thank you.
Will share more details later Congrats...it will end in praise |

Anyone got funding from a Canadian Institution and has applied for study permit recently? Please, I need to sample your opinion.... |

fembas316: Canadian nurse and other applicants, please, was the proof of "fund export" request sent as a separate mail or was it requested via your application portal (as it is with the medical request).
Also, did the two requests (medical and fund export) come in together at the same time.
I will really appreciate your responses. The two request came in the same time via the applicant's portal. |

odagogo: you can open a bank account as a non-resident, but you will not be able to transfer funds from the account until you arrive in Canada and activate it. However, funds can be transferred into the account from your home country. Check out Bank of Montreal and Royal Bank of Canada, I did mine with RBC, hope this helps. Please, how long did it take for the bank to contact you on what to do next? I have filled a form on-line since Friday and have not gotten a reply yet. Maybe because of the holiday. |
