three: Very 'informative' infographic
Okay so first off it isn't any wonder that the Ministries with the largest budgetary provisions are headed by the most 'controversial' ministers?
Having a 3rd of your budget financed by deficit is simply ludicrous and in the current socio-economic/political environment simply wishful thinking (Oil revenue has been massively eroded due to Bombings)
Oil revenue and Non-Oil revenue are almost equal (this simply assumes that we will make as much money from agric, and not much else as we make from oil..., Really?)
The sum of N529B for works, power and housing is grossly inadequate as there already is a funding deficit for most FG contracts so this is like throwing money into a bottomless pit - summary - we're going to be hearing many many more excuses)
Meanwhile why is the FCT getting a whole N37B (okay now I understand why Bala Muhammed's son allegedly has several supercars and properties) on a serious note it would make sense if Lagos, Kaduna and Portharcourt shared this sum as intended abinitio.
Den come oh! dis $30B wey PMB wan collect by force, d servicing dey inside d N1.6T abi e go still join am !!!
Mr man FYI majority of non oil revenue is gotten from oil companies |

senbonzakurakageyoshi: I'm not an advocate of government keeping control of the resources, if you think that's what I'm insinuating. I'm just an advocate of things being done the right way. I get that you want the Niger Deltans to have their resource control so that the oil curse would be restricted to their region instead of the entire country. I wouldn't mind that either. But I'm just being logical here, and the ND is just a case study. Accountability is paramount for any democratic system to be efficient at least to an extent. Even if the ND gets resource control and all the individual regions start sourcing for their own revenue, the question is, would the leaders in these regions use such revenues judiciously? Would the people hold them accountable? Because it doesn't matter what the source of the money is and how hardworking the people are, if at the end of the day it gets spirited into pockets of the few in power. Each region needs to ask it's leaders:what are you people doing with the money meant for all of us? . All regions and states in Nigeria have show a terribly poor level of accountability, it is not limited to the ND. things were better in the 60's cux there was competition for development among the regions so I believe regional government will still pay us better than what we have now |

ndcide: Can you also tell us how Nigeria survived before 1958 and the impact of government on the people of the region then.
In spite of all these big grammar. If there's no oil today, the region would have lost its competitive advantage and NO BODY WILL CARE. the resources from that region must be seen to impact the region the most before even the FCT.
This is my point and ditto to LRZNH . Before 1958 every region was financing herself...ground nut from d north, cocoa in from the west and palm fruit from d east. No region was dependent on d other |

Zone C rerun election is simply a case of poor representation & the clamour for liberation. as senate president for 8 good years u dont have any excuse on earth not to have drawn meaningful development for ur people. its not by fighting another race but aligning with them to bring dividends of democracy & peace full co existence. we need a bridge builder & not a bridge breaker HAHAHAHA..so onjeh is a bridge builder. I keep asking, what has Akume his God father done in Benue for we to vote for s1 he is fronting..absolutely nothing. DM has represented better than Akume n Gemade combined. Onjeh can atleast start with his lga or house of assembly member lets see his performance. |

oteneaaron: The main issue here is the relevance of the Idoma in National politics....
..if Onjeh wins, the Idoma will remain under the shackles of the Tiv general-- Akume George --but there will be a little change and progress back home in Benue south
But if David Mark wins, the Tiv grip on Idoma will be lessened(though not completely), but development will be abysmal......
So it's a case of choosing the Devil or the deep blue sea.... Keep deceiving yourself......what has Akume done for his constituency as a past governor and two time senator for you to think onjeh will bring development. DM has a radio station in his zone that employs people of the zone. He has been given scholarship to undergrd from his zone. DM we need |

You guys keep forgeting Nigeria does not run in regions but states. You can not take what belongs to delta n give to akwa ibom n expect peace to reign. Akwa ibom already has a federal uni. Buhari will not be stupid to cancel that project |
Politics › Re: Maritime University Cancellation: Another Own Goal By A Niger Deltan by ekolina(m): 9:19am On Jan 27, 2016 |
TheGoodJoe: I guess the Federal Government is after the NIMASA bosses for spending their money. Or are you saying the funding of the NIMASA does not come from Nigeria. Or what.
I do not get your point. Amaechi said he wants to achieve the same aim of the University proposal with the Oron Institution.
Simple, achieve the same aim of the University with the Oron Institution.
I should stop mentioning Oil here because of what? Our revenue comes from fishes and NIMASA does not get money from the National Budget. NIMASA generates its fund. Again it is wrong to cancel MUW due to fund and allow the remaining 8 universities created by same Jonathan to run. note, this is the only federal university in delta state.......oron is akwa ibom. |
