Thanks for the reply.like for me , my job has been IT support and for 4 years.i schooled in university of ibadan.i know I think system analyst is out
Wanted to find out if computer network professional and database and systems administrator and ict security specialists is ok?
Truth is am aiming for either 189 or 190.
Cc: ogbevireo , eladua

What course did you study?

And if all you did was IT support I doubt the work experience will fly for security and network professional, check the job description of those occupations and see if what you do is close to them. However, I think you should also know there is ICT customer support or something like that, you can go for such or Hardware technician.

Well yea you should aim for 189 or 190 provided you can get like 70points because there are people with 65points that have been waiting in line for several months, so decide on what's best for you.

With TRA, you are accessing other occupation that's close to your ICT occupation not the same occupations assessed by ACS. Eg. Hardware technician.
This is available on 489 visa and he advised you to do that because your have a chance of getting a positive assessment and higher points with them more than you do with ACS.
That's putting into consideration your University and years of experience.
Eladua advised you to do that because he's done it and he has gotten a grant.

(Wrote out this epistle because I see we finished from the same University and u have helped me ask the question I have been meaning to ask since. )

Lol thanks trastar

What do you want to know about the great TRA.

This is really sad, plan to access my degree in Computer science(4 years) at Ekiti State University.

1. Does it mean i can't claim 15 points with 2 years 5 months experience

I intend to nominate ICT security specialist (ANZSCO 262112). My ielts result is (S:7,W:8, R:6.5, L:7), gonna give PTE a shot.

In btw, has anyone gotten positive accessment(ICT security specialist)?

I think you should be careful assessing for ICT Security except your work experience is in that line and you can get reference letter from work to back it up. In addition to that, since ACS will likely assess your degree to be equivalent to Australia associate degree, you will be required to have at least 4years experience to get a good outcome. I'd advice you read the requirements of that occupation well before you go ahead with it.

But if your work experience is related to IT support, hardwares and installations and you are single too grin, you can check out Hardware Technician assessed by TRA, you will likely get your 15points for education from them, at least I'm a witness of this.

Best.

Hey everyone,
What is the likelihood of an IT person with a score of 65(visa 190) or 70(visa 489) being nominated. Its like the sharp guys of 2015/16 already took most of the slots.

Please repondé.....

You have a high chance for both since state nominations don't really go with the invitation round, just apply to the state, immediately they agree to sponsor you, you get your ITA. Don't wait on 189 if you have a state that can sponsor you. My thought.

I think you should also know that 489 (Family sponsor) takes eternity and there are some requirements your bro needs to meet to be able to sponsor you, I think you should just go for 189, 190 or 489 (Regional) this one is faster.

Dykodd:
Hi everyone. Good job you guys are doing. I apologise for the long post but I'm actually looking for some pieces of advice concerning the occupation to nominate. Let me break down my details...
- Studied Materials & Metallurgical Engineering (Metallurgy option) (FUTO 2009)
- I'm aiming for Visa 189 or 489 (family nominated), I have a brother who's a permanent residence holder in Australia and he lives in NSW. So he will nominate me.
- Both 189 and 489 (family nominated) require ones occupation to be on MLTSSL.
-My course of study is not on the MLTSSL, what they have there is "Materials Engineer"
-My question is...should I nominate "Engineering Technologist" since it's on the MLTSSL or should I go ahead and nominate "Materials Engineer"?

Note: There are two types of 489, one is family nominated (MLTSSL only) while the other is state/territory nominated.

Any input will be highly appreciated. Thanks and good luck to everyone!!!

Really??... I used to think air ticket to Australia was up to 900k. Or is that for emirates?

900k? That is probably a return ticket of the likes of Emirates, someone that didn't even use IOM got a return ticket of about 650k in October South African Airways.
Travel / Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Eladua(m): 2:19pm On Nov 20, 2017
It is enough including air ticket with enough change.

victree4:

It should be enough as long as air ticket is not included.

Hello All, Please I need other cheap flights sites, I reached out to IOM twice and they said they are not processing 2018 tickets for now and we are not sure we want to wait till early January since we plan to leave by end of January 2018. Just so they don't disappoint us. Please any suggestion? Thank you.

We are in same shoes. Same thing they told me after keeping me suspense for a week. I intend going same time too.

I just noticed that for the state nomination, you will need financial obligation of 25,000AUD.....Is this same for subclass 189 visa?

Also do they need bank statement verifing that you have the said amount?

Thanks

Well for the financial obligation, I don't think you need to prove it in any way, you only need to declare that you have it. At least I know of SA, they won't ask you for any evidence.

so i checked and only qualify for one state.....Although they still said that the benchmark is 70points and then they can go to 65 points and then reduce to 60 depending on applicants.so my question is if i have 60pts on my own, does the state nomination gives me 10pts and then totalling 70points? Also whats the sequence, is it to do the assessment first with ACS or apply to the state nominating first then ACS?

Thanks

You can't have 60points on your own if you haven't done assessment. You have to assess your qualifications and work experience first, state nomination is like the last thing you do. Pls read the first page of the thread well, you will understand the steps.

By the way, what occupation do you have in mind?

Though am praying to have a favorable ielts score of 8 each so I can have 70 but Sud incase I have a 60pts, pls how do I go about the nomination thingy for 489.

Same as 190. Check the states sponsoring your occupation and check their requirements and how to apply. You have to apply to the state first.

Hey Chief, I was asking because you said you claimed B.Sc.

It was a four year course and ACS earlier claimed it is equivalent to an advanced diploma, but TRA was silent on the education level, so I decided to claim Bsc with it since TRA didn't specify.

Hope you understand now.

Congratulations and welcome to Australia.
Contact IOM Via iomnigeria@iom.int; with oabikoye@iom.int; and OAjaegbu@iom.int in copy.
The fare ain't steady and same. It all depends on the part of Australia you're heading to. It also depends on when you want to travel as the festive season is setting in with travel costs on the rise.
I got a ticket to Tassie last week and the total cost was 455k one-way per person.
Once again, I say a big congratulations and God's grace ahead.

Thank you immensely for this, I thought as much too that it will likely be higher this period. It should be lesser in February I think.

It's a very good visa.
It's equally as expensive 190 n 189...

Same destination.... different route..
It's the journey that matters most

Congrats once more

I know o my brother, but I don't think it is really advisable to people migrating with family as they might not get some govt benefits. Reason I said that o.

Thanks sir, really appreciate your help along the line, and happy belated birthday to you.

In addition, I would like to confirm if IOM assist 489 with travel tickets too and the process.
