So, finally it is my turn to testify, the Lord has done it. Like someone mentioned some days back, it will get to a time that one would just get tired of checking mails every morning expecting that grant and just concentrate on other things, I have been like that for some weeks now, only for me to check my mail on a Saturday morning and the grant catwalked in.
It all started last year November when I assessed my qualifications with ACS and they broke my heart with negative outcome based on the fact that my degree isn't equivalent to Aussie Bsc and I needed 4years experience to qualify. I gave up at that moment until when someone here opened my eyes to the possibility of going with TRA so I did and got a positive outcome, even though they were silent on the level of education I went ahead to claim the maximum point for a Bsc, this was my fear with DIBP, alas it came out well.
It's a 489 visa, and my advice for some especially the single ones, if 190 is taking time to get coz of your English test or something, just go with the 489 instead of continuous waiting, before you know it another policy will come up. My occupation was for 190 initially, the day i was to apply for state nomination was when they moved it to 489, so i decided to just go on with it.
Thanks to everyone that has helped me one way or the other and I pray for those still in process, it will land sooner than you think.
Pls anyone that has info on if IOM help with travel tickets for 489 applicants and the process should pls advice. |

@Nikkycool This answers your question I believe, although I was contacted when they sent my transcript to school for verification and the school asked for verification fee, so they contacted me to make the payment. uchenna2017: Hello Nikkycool,
You need transcript, apprenticeship contract, trade certificate and employment documents. Also they require your trade certificate to be government recognised institution not just any baker training certificate.
Go to their website and download the MSA booklet to help you. The assessment will take 90days bearing in mind that they won't contact you for more information as they assume you submitted everything you need.
Ask Mamajaz for my number if you need more info |

Good morning all, is anyone here able to claim 15points for Bsc gotten from a Tier 2 university eg Unilorin or Uniben. I meant if one has a positive outcome from an assessing body without the body stating the level of degree, has anyone gone ahead to claim a Bsc degree with it and got the visa after getting ITA? |

mayorchelsea: Good point you raised but I'm not idle though. I was contemplating quitting and when the mails came in,I decided to leave for something that won't hold me back when I'm ready to go.I don't believe training school will start in Jan 2018;it doesn't seem like this potential TS set who have had medicals and documentation would be the only one, hopefully. It would be exactly a year in December that this whole exercise started. Bro, it won't happen to you o but I think in case of next time, pls don't make that mistake you just did again except if your previous place was really bad and you were set to go. Talking from experience, these employers can be funny at times. I know someone that was working for Bank A and he has always wanted bank B and has gone through all the process, did medical and as we all know TS should be automatic for anyone that has done medical, he resigned at bank A two weeks to his assumed TS resumption date, he said he thought he could use that time to prepare for his ICAN exams, when the two weeks came, they selected people for TS and told him he has to wait till the next batch which happens to be the next year, surprisingly for him they didn't call him again and after several mails, from an insider he got to know that the MD reduced age of people to go to TS and he is no longer a fit for the position after wasting a whole year for the process, is this fair? Obviously NO, reason I said employers can be funny a times. He lost in both ways and was so frustrated that he wanted to . Worst your previous employer can say is u pay one month salary and u can agree for them to convert it to a loan for you, they can't tie you down. Just my 1 kobo. |

nikkycool: Hello gurus in the house, please can this my result be used for job that requires competent english.Because on the information for English language it is written that you need to have Competent in each score or Competent plus overall. My result is S7.5 W6.5 R6.0 L5.5 which makes it overall 6.5.Please I need clarification on this if I can use it for my job that requires 6 in each band or 6.5 overall.Thank you. If they said 'or competent plus overall' then you can use it. I used my IELTS SWLR 7 7.5 7 6 to get a state nomination that requires competent plus in each band or Proficient overall. |

OzyMigrant: Please can you give more details on how you got TRA assessment?
Do they consider first Degrees? Thought they only look at vocational skills/diplomas and experience. Yes, they do consider first degree, I never knew too until I gave it a try, so far it is in line with the occupation and they did not even deduct a single day of work experience. |

Thanks for the response. Please when did you apply.?Secondly I'm getting cold feet because info from expatforum says it sometimes difficult to get a positive assessment from TRA and they take like ages to respond.
What's your experience like?
Thanks Yes it takes about 2-3 months before you get their outcome, and yes TRA can be strict but I got a positive outcome with a BSc from them. |

buzu84: Thanks Boss for the feedback,
I was really just wondering why they had to assess my Bachelors degree as a associate as the AQF levels documentation for Level 7 Bachelors which states Graduates at this level will have broad and coherent knowledge and skills for professional work and/or further learning between 3 to 4 years, Computer courses are included in the Course content from my 100 Level up until 400 Level. I guess maybe it's just the way they assess Nigerian private universities...just wondering what their justification is.
I Submitted a total of 11 years. but 3 years of those was reviewed as Unsuitable the reason was that it was not closely related to the Nominated ANZSCO, so out of the 8 years accessed, 5 years was deducted as reason to Associate Degree. Leaving me with 3 years for EXP claim. Thinking if i submit a review of the unsuitable 3 years Career Episode i would be able to get additional 5 points.
Can i PM you please @Alphadoor Same thing ACS did to me, I also finished from BU, but it is not only peculiar to private uni, on expat forum, some indians complained about same, they mostly consider a 5 year course as equivalent to their bachelor with exception to some selected schools. Anyways, if you did Computer Tech and you have worked as an IT support officer, you can assess with TRA Hardware Technician and you will get your Bsc points and years of experience but the occupation is only available for 190/489 visa sponsored by SA, Tasmania and Queensland I think. |

koleefem05: Hi Fam, Please how legit, fast or genuine is using .etx-ng.com In processing ones transcript Anyone have experience using them Its a legit company, most private schools use them, like Babcock. When TRA contacted my school for Transcript verification, it was ETX-NG that handled it for the school, and within a short period they verified my transcript and got back to TRA. |

Bamz: Dear Alphadoor,
Thanks for taking time again to respond.
It seems you misinterpreted my question somewhere: About the number of episodes. I asked if 8 was a minimum because I will be submitting 3 from the look of things.
Yes, I can start preparing after I know fully that it's ACS that I will opt for, then you know I can do PTE (for migration) instead of IELTS (if I was choosing EA, which is for assessment and migration) -------------------------------------- About Telecoms Network Engineer (I think it's a close call) but EA will need to see courses such as (I'm guessing):
Wireless, Cellular and Personal Telecommunications Fiber Optic Telecommunications Multiprotocol Label Switching Telecommunications Software Design Intelligent Networks Internet Telephony Advanced Topics in Wireless Communication Wireless Networks Switching and QoS Management in IP Networks et al
But nevertheless I could write 3 career episodes from my IT, Project and one from experience. Just to add, I hope you are aware that not all Nigeria uni bsc is equivalent to the aqf bachelor. So which uni did you finish from? Coz 5 or 6yrs would be deducted by Acs if its not equivalent to Aqf bsc, if they need 6years and you dont have it then it might not be suitable |

Banking related jobs are not listed, so I want to go with Agricultural scientist. Please what do you advise.. Please house, kindly assist.
Thanks in anticipation. I'm confused, you were just asking about computer engineering and now Agric. Anyways I think Agric is better as there is less competition in that field but provided you can prove you have relevant work experience in the same field. |
