The way some people on this thread belittle others working in the healthcare profession is not just wrong but also condescending. To some, it is believed that healthcare assistant is all about packing sh!t. Thats myopic. Lol. The healthcare industry is very broad and has high earning potentials. As a mental health support worker, you can earn as much as £25 per hour with minimal experience on the job. More experienced workers earn up to £40 per hour and above by just sitting down all day or night taking records or making sure things are done properly in the facility. Complex care support for children with learning difficulties pays very high even more than many office workers. Its an industry that offers huge potentials and opportunity to grow with readily available hands on training provided by most employers.

Let's erode that mindset that all healthcare workers are at the bottom of the career food chain (salary wise) when in reality many earn far more than workers in other industry. A friend of mine who studied mechanical engineering both in his undergraduate and UK masters level made a lot of money in complex health care and has started his own care company. Today he is an employer of labor and a director after undergoing several training.

You don't need to make yourself feel highly by bringing others down. For healthcare assistants, while you are motivated to grow your career within or outside the care profession, do not let anyone make you look down on your hustle. You can make good money in this profession without doing personal care with the little experience you can gather. And if you choose to get other professional jobs in line with your academic qualifications, great! Care Experience can be useful for jobs roles in customer support, human relations, because you are able to manage emotions of people with varying degree of temperament and mental stability.

May God bless everyone with a legit hustle. Amen

Hmmm bro. Honestly I think you misconstrued the message I was trying to pass. I am on HCA dependent visa and I hope you know that I cannot be throwing a stone while I live in the glass house.

What I meant was than an HCA especially the dom usually pays higher insurance premium because of the risk inherent in their job. So the insurance thinks I am also an HCA but I was hiding it. More so, I am the one paying for my wife's insurance too who happens to an HCA. I believe it is clear now. Apologies once again. Na evening school I go and that is why I could not ensure clarity in my message.

People of God oh. Two things that I need your guide on:

1. I work in a multinational company here in the north(smiles) and they are giving me a credit card in my name and to be delivered to my home. My question is, will this card contribute to my credit score even though it is issued through my employer but in my name and my address. The essence of the card is for me to use any time I want to embark on a journey as an auditor. I can also use it to make some purchases as long as it is business related and my employer will be responsible for funding or replenishing it.

2. Marshmallow insurance is asking me to provide my job offer for them to verify the business I do based on the information I provided while filling their policy form. Meanwhile this is coming after 1 month of registration and I have paid like 400 pounds in advance. Now I pay 170 every month for a 2007 honda crv. Do you think I should course their mamas and ask to cancel my policy or I should ignore them. I feel very pained that they are not believing me. They thought everyone is a healthcare worker

The truth is that women behave this way when they don't trust you or your judgement when it comes to finance. It is either she has been suspecting you for chasing ladies while in Nigeria or she noticed any sign of financial recklessness.
Women generally belief that one of the ways to stop an 'alagbere' is to ensure he does not have enough money to start chasing women. She may also think you spend too much on your siblings and parents leaving little for you and her.

What she is doing is to ensure that you spend your entire earnings while she keeps her own for the family and project.

If that is your case, you need to begin to put things in order and demonstrate to her that you are now a changed person. She will change with time unless she has grown and fallen into the hand of big women society in youkay.

You can ask here, but sifting through replies might be hard.

That said, there is a mortgage thread. https://www.nairaland.com/7534564/living-uk-propertymortgage-related/6

Thank you and God bless.

Can someone with less than 1 Yr in uk apply for mortgage? He is on a dependent skilled worker visa and has a full time job in one of the multinational coys here.

Do I have to build my credit history or bank will be satisfied with my ability to pay looking at my current earning.

Thank you

Hello house, you people should not pass this oh. Abeg. Please the experienced in the house, how do we respond to this mail that a friend shares with me:

The UK Decision Making Centre is currently assessing the application submitted by the above named. We are unable to conclude the application at this time as we require additional information.

Please provide the following documents:

In considering your application, we have certain responsibilities regarding child welfare arising from section 55 of the Borders Citizenship and Immigration Act. We must be satisfied with the travel, reception and care arrangements for you. We also need to be satisfied that your welfare needs are still met once you are in the UK.

Your application is being assessed under paragraph SW 30.1 to SW 30.2. The Immigration Rules require that the applicant’s parents must each be either applying at the same time as the applicant or have permission to be in the UK (other than as a visitor) unless:

(a) the parent with permission as a Skilled Worker is the sole surviving parent; or
(b) the parent with permission as a Skilled Worker has sole responsibility for the child’s upbringing; or
(c) the decision maker is satisfied that there are serious and compelling reasons to grant the child entry clearance or permission to stay with the parent who has permission as a Skilled Worker.

I note that your (Mother / Father) currently has a Skilled Worker visa. However your (Father / Mother) currently does not have permission to be in the UK. As things currently stand, your case would stand for refusal.

Please can you provide additional evidence / information which shows that you will meet the requirements of the Immigration Rules? I.e. will your (Mother / Father) apply as a Skilled Worker partner (if so, please provide their GWF number so we can process their application).

We would also require evidence to support suitable arrangements for your care and accommodation in the UK, which must comply with relevant UK legislation.

OR

As your (Mother/Father) does not have sole responsibility of your care then please provide:
• Further information as to why your (Mother/Father) will not be travelling with you.
• Evidence to support suitable arrangements for your care and accommodation in the UK, which must comply with relevant UK legislation
• A letter of consent from your (Mother/Father) plus a copy of the bio data page of their passport or other official government identity document containing their signature. End of the mail from DMC

Additional information, the wife's VISA was approved last week and the husband just submitted his own application last week

I think you should focus on asking questions that will give you a soft landing in the UK based on you and your wife’s skills and career trajectory, accomodation, managing bills, building a credit profile, investing, etc as opposed to looking at saving money that is unrealistic to save in the first few months of your arrival here as a student.

A follow up questions from me please. How easy can an internal auditor get a job in UK especially around Leeds and Bradford? I will appreciate any response

Since the employers resorted to engaging those on ground to avoid the stress associated with workers outside UK it has become difficult to get sponsorship.A friend told me that people are paying huge amount to secure COS for non UK resident applicants. So it has become the highest bidder gets it.

You may also need to consider the fact that those that relocated through study are now allowed to switch. This could be another reason

Good day all, my employer just sent my COS this morning, and I am meant to resume by 11th of February, 2023. I want to ask if I can still meet up that resumption date, as I intend putting my proof of funds for the 28days tomorrow.
And I want to ask if the proof of funds will be held for just 28days or 28 working days.

Why are people with COS still talking about POF? Is maintenance not included in your own CoS? READ YOUR COS WELL AND IF UNDER MAINTAINANCE IT IS READ YES, THEM YOU DONT NEED POF
