I came across a thread on NL where a guy posted about the development of some south eastern roads with sukuk funds, which we all know is an Islamic Loan system. The said thread generated lots of controversial comments. So my Question here is that, Is using of Sukuk fund in reconstruction of south eastern roads a form of islamizing the south eastern part of Nigeria? Your Opinions are welcomed.

2ND TATTOO If our native land is determined at birth, then our hobby and profession is a personal choice. This is the theme of the Olamide’s second tattoo. In early 2017, the rapper inked a picture of the guitar on his right leg, emphasizing his love for the music industry to which he decided to devote his life.
|
Celebrities usually do have their own iconic trademarks which they use in attracting their fans. Some have these in form of their dress sense, hair styles, language and others. Well the popular Olamide baddo got some striking tattoos and see what they stand for. THE 1ST TATTOO While many other celebrities depict their money, cars, girls, and other attributes of their luxury life on their bodies, this musician paid tribute to his Yoruba roots. On his leg is a portrait of Oduduwa who was the first Ooni of Ife-Ife. His name is associated with the oldest Yoruba dynasties because he is the ancestor of many kings who ruled this tribe’s land at different periods of history. Oduduwa posthumously got the status of primordial divinity and is exalted among Yorubas.

Billionaire kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans has cried out in court about the way he is treated in detention. According to Sahara Reporters, the kidnap kingpin complained at the Lagos state high court in Ikeja on Friday, November 17 that he is not properly fed. He complained to the judge that the last time he ate was five days before and begged the court to allow him access to food. Other defendants are: Uche Amadi, Ogechi Uchechukwu, Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu, Chilaka Ifeanyi and Victor Chukwunonso Aduba. As soon as he appeared in court, Evans began agitating on the treatment he and others were receiving from prison warders. He said:"This is unfair, I have not been given food and change of clothes. I was not given the opportunity to bathe since Wednesday. I am seriously hungry now. They locked us in one place, no food and no water to bathe. The last we were fed was when a wife of one of us brought food" Evans’ lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje, asked the court to grant permission for him to have access to food. He said:"apart from being starved my lord, they are locked up in solitary confinement with no access to anybody. If this continues, they may not be in the right frame of mind to continue the trial". Hakeem Oshodi who is the presiding judge ordered an investigation into the allegation. "The Director of Public Prosecution should please investigate these allegations. A defendant is innocent until he is proven guilty by a competent court.” Meanwhile, Evans lost as Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Lagos state high court, Igbosere, ruled on Friday, November 10, 2017, that he and his suspected accomplices all have cases to answer. The judge’s ruling came as Evans and the suspected accomplices face two separate charges filed against them by the Lagos state government. |
BEWARE. IT IS SNAKE SEASON! DUE TO THE HEATWAVE AND HIGH TEMPERATURES CURRENTLY IN NIGERIA, SNAKES, ESPECIALLY COBRAS, SEEK REFUGE IN COOLER PLACES LIKE INSIDE HOMES. SAFETY TIPS 1. Avoid leaving windows open for too long. Cobras and Mambas can reach heights that are very high. 2. Avoid leaving your front doors open for fresh air in the evenings. These reptiles are absolutely STEALTHY (too quiet). You won't hear or see them go inside your house. 3 Before sitting under the tree that has that cooling shade, check the branches that there are no snakes lurking in the branches. 4. Check your bed and surrounding before you go to bed, cobras are notorious for hiding under the sheets. 5. Avoid the age old trend of liking to chill outside of the house, with mattresses and wrappers in the evening. Most reptiles are nocturnal (hunt at night and more effective) 6. Not only snakes might bite you, but also the age old human enemy; the centipede (Mosithaphala),which is fast and very venomous. 7. Clear bushes round your house. They attract rats and mice which are the favourite snacks of the most dangerous snake’s favorite meal. 8. Buy snake repellent powder and pour it round your yard. You will definitely decrease the chances of a snake ever visiting your home by 90%. Beware of confronting snakes that get into your homes. Some snakes can be killed easily, others like the black mamba are very cocky. If threatened, they will chase you at an alarming speed and give multiple bites while still on the chase; and bitten victims may not live to see the next forty minutes. So, just be very careful when trying to kill those snakes. Stay well and be safe. It's snake season. It's very hot and they are highly active and get agitated and angry very fast. Keep sharing as you may be saving lives. Please do have a wonderful day!!! |
