People are starting to get tired of the whole gender equality argument by feminists. As much as men should respect women and vice versa, nothing can take away the fact that respect has to be earned and not just demanded.

There is no sane man who would not respect a woman as an equal if she demonstrates traits and habits proving herself so. Yes, there are bone headed chauvinists and misogynists, but there are also sane and intelligent men out there.

RECESSION!!! This is the most used word in Nigeria at the moment.

From blaming the price of Garri, down to explaining away why one cheated, a lot of things are being attributed to the current economic decay facing Nigerian.

Almost every employee working in Nigeria would agree that at some point or the other, their bosses have abused their rights as employees. Looking at the Nigerian Labour culture, everyone would agree that as much as NLC can strike all they want when it comes to fuel price and others, those working in the private sector are like lambs waiting for slaughter and any employee can catch the boot or become a victim of abuse anytime from the boss, and nothing would happen.

The Oga Oga mentality has literally turned employers and superior staff into slavemasters, having them act like gods in the light of the prevalent unemployment rate in the company.

This is because of the almost non-existent enforceable labour laws protecting the rights of employees, and the absolute inability of most policemen to protect the masses in the face of an oga's superior position. Abuse of employees has come to stay, and unless the government sits down on the neck of private employers and tightens the laws protecting the employees, many people would continue to suffer.

Below are some ways Nigerian bosses abuse their staff, on a regular.

1. Owing of salary for long periods of time.: Many employees of HIPTV can tell a tale or two about this, especially during the Christmas period.

2. Firing at short notice and without severance pay.

3. Corporate bullying and unprofessional manners of addressing staff

4. Lack of proper health insurance

5. Working them overtime and without extra pay

6. Defamation of character upon end of working relationship

The list is endless and unless the government tightens the labour laws protecting employees, Nigerians would continue to suffer under these evil bosses and no one would do anything about it.

First of all, it is a no-brainer, cheating on someone who loves you is an absolute no-no, and if you get dumped for it, you deserve it.

1. You have to find out why they cheated, so you can ascertain if they deserve a second chance, or if you had a small part to play in it.

2. You have to let them know you have forgiven them, and never bring up the issue ever again. Let it go.

3. You have to make effort to fill that void that made them cheat

4. You should make them disconnect totally from the person with whom they cheated. If it is a colleague, they might have to resign from that job. (serves them right for cheating)

5. Seek counselling from a trained counsellor, or elderly person.

Feeling confident in his freshly ironed suit and tie, Michael walked into the reception hall of 'wall and Gate construction company'

'May I help you sir?' The beautiful receptionist smiled as he approached her desk.

Stepping out, Michael walked with his head bowed. The interview hadn't gone as planned. The manager hadn't even let him answer any question before firing him with another. The summary of the whole matter, he wasn't gonna get this job.

The receptionist looked up at him expectantly as he approached. Her face crumpled as she saw the disappointed look in his eyes. She walked out from behind her desk and without a word, hugged him.
