The highlander is much easier and cheaper even if u overflog it because its parts common in the market. The pilot 2017 uses a new engine design which is much relaible than the 2012-2015 model engine but still not as relaible or durable as the Highlander's engine. It all depends on usage and maintanace culture.

Israeli exports hit record $164 billion despite war and global hostility

Services exports surpassed $90 billion for the first time, led by high tech, software and research, as the Israel Export Institute said innovation and demand for Israeli expertise overcame war, geopolitical pressure and efforts to isolate the country

Israeli exports reached an all-time high of $164 billion in 2025, setting a new national record despite war, global economic uncertainty and what the Israel Export Institute described as unprecedented hostility toward the country.

The institute said the results demonstrated the strength, innovation and resilience of Israeli companies, which continued to expand abroad even as Israel faced a difficult security environment and growing efforts to isolate and delegitimize it internationally.

One of the report’s most significant findings was that services exports exceeded $90 billion for the first time. Growth was led by the high-tech, software, research and development sectors, reinforcing Israel’s position as one of the world’s leading innovation hubs and highlighting the ability of Israeli companies to continue growing during periods of uncertainty.

The institute said the record figures reflected sustained international demand for Israeli technology, expertise and business solutions.

New markets and new risks
Alongside the strong results, the Israel Export Institute warned that the country must prepare for a more volatile global trading environment, including shifting supply chains, fluctuations in international commerce and the appreciation of the Israeli shekel.

The institute said its priorities include expanding Israeli business activity in Asia, Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe, while capitalizing on the growth opportunities created by artificial intelligence.

“Israel holds a significant competitive advantage in AI thanks to its exceptional human capital, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Nili Shalev, CEO of the Israel Export Institute. “The numbers speak for themselves: Israeli exports continue to grow stronger because they are driven by outstanding companies and extraordinary people.”

‘Stronger than any challenge’
Avi Balashnikov, chairman of the Israel Export Institute, said the figures showed that Israeli businesses remained competitive despite war and international pressure.
“During a year in which Israel faced a difficult war, alongside unprecedented hostility toward the country on the international stage, Israeli companies once again proved that innovation, creativity, and Israeli quality are stronger than any challenge,” he said.

“Despite repeated attempts to undermine Israel’s economy, the world continues to seek the technology, expertise, and solutions that come from Israel. These figures are clear evidence that Israeli excellence continues to prevail. The Israel Export Institute will continue working tirelessly to open new doors for Israeli exporters and connect them with business opportunities around the world.”

Balashnikov said the achievement was the result of cooperation among Israel’s private sector, government, the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Export Institute. We will continue working to ensure that Israeli exports remain one of the country’s primary engines of economic growth in the years ahead.”

The institute said the 2025 figures carried significance beyond the financial results alone. At a time when Israel faced war, geopolitical instability and international campaigns aimed at isolating the country, Israeli companies continued to compete, innovate and deepen their presence in global markets.

The record therefore represents not only an economic milestone, the institute said, but also evidence that international demand for Israeli technology and expertise remained strong despite the political and security pressures surrounding the country.

An explosion took place at the liquid natural gas terminal at Egypt’s Damietta Port as cargo was being unloaded, according to media reports.

According to the Ambrey global security company, a drone hit a US-owned gas storage tanker, with no injuries reported.

Port services firm Inchcape says in a separate message that two gas tankers had caught fire at Damietta.

The drone hit floating storage tanker Energos Winter, causing a fire that then spread to another vessel, Gaslog Salem, three trading sources familiar with the incident say. Two separate security sources say the cause of the blast was a drone strike.

The crew was evacuated and the fire brought under control, Ambrey says, adding that no party had claimed responsibility.

Official Egyptian channels have not yet commented on the incident.

The explosion occurred while the Middle East is on high alert, as Iranian drones have targeted a number of Arab countries. Iran’s Houthi allies in Yemen have also recently hit Saudi energy facilities. Egypt has until now not been hit by Iranian drone strikes.

Considering the Specs, third row seat, Engine and Performance, I recommend Volvo XC90 for you. The car is damn strong and underrated.

What of spare parts and general maintenance?

Both vehicles are good and on the same league.. more reliability and abundance of oem used parts. Go for highlander.

Honda will be more fun to drive but i will advice to check carfax report because of the popular rod bearing recall. No genuine parts or even technical knowhow to fix it in Nigeria.

Both model years are in the same bracket for both models I believe.

Specs

Honda pilot has got a few tricks,Apple car play and Android Auto out of the box, A real SUV with the strength to take more road beating than the highlander. Though interms of reliability highlander tops by a few margin.

Fuel economy highlander is better in city, while the pilot tops in highway.

Third row seat
The pilot has better seating arrangement, more leg room than the highlander and bigger cargo space.

V6 engine
I would prefer the highlander timing chained engines to the pilot timing belt engine. That's just my personal preference because I won't have to worry about fake belt or maintenance of changing belt especially since it is an interference engine.

Consider equivalent trim levels

The EX and EX-L trims of the pilot have more but the highlander limited and XLE comes very close.

Now, the only way Oshiomhole could ever find the money to own such a mansion in such climes is to sell his experience.

He must have written a bestseller, apparently showcasing the fine details of his days in office or be giving speeches to critical audiences, or selling his reputation to big firms by serving on their boards.

Those are some of the ways people out of public office make money. But even such exploits are not only visible to the public but the outcomes are both traceable and measurable even for the taxman!

But here, the picture is totally different. So, out of office, Oshiomhole builds himself a house, which, is the cynosure of all eyes!

But then, all his earnings in life as a salaried worker, including governor and now Senator, could not fund the foundation stage. Interestingly, Edo people are silent.

He flies chartered aircraft, nobody asks questions. He is captured in a video massaging the feet of a woman that is not his wife and it becomes a subject of jokes and hearty laughter at the National Assembly, where he joins other Senators in making laws!

So, why would he not be at liberty to mock Obi for lacking in long term “vision” – making him unfit to rule Nigeria?

Now, compatriots, this is the selfsame Obi who, as a student in his early 20s had become a millionaire – the same who drove three tear-rubber cars – a Volkswagen Beetle, first year, Peugeot 505, second year and BMW, third year – the same that built two bank branches and became a big landlord – all as student.

Yes! The same Peter Obi who has spent time learning within the four walls of global education institutions learning the arts in diverse human endeavours – the same that grew his business chain that afforded him the status of being among the first 1,000 exclusive holders of American Express Black Card!

Pray! Where was Oshiomhole at this time? Probably battling with needles and threads inside a sewing machine at one of the tailoring sheds in Kaduna.

Why wouldn’t he mock and stick out his tongue? After all, who else but a fuuul like Peter Obi would leave $150million in a bank instead of using it to build mansions, purchase exotic cars and import foreign dollar-rate Oloshos?

Fighting between the U.S. and Iran has been paused since Friday (July 24, 2026) after 13 nights of U.S. strikes on the Islamic Republic, after an April ceasefire collapsed.

Israel has not taken part in the latest round of hostilities in the war that began in late February with a wave of U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran.

Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria Michael Freeman has said his dream is for Nigeria to become Africa's food basket, innovation powerhouse and medical hub where no Nigerian needs to travel abroad for treatment.

Speaking on ARISE News Prime Time programme on ISRAEL-NIGERIA TIES: BEYOND DIPLOMACY, Freeman said there is enormous untapped potential beyond conventional diplomacy, describing future collaboration as phenomenal.

"Imagine Nigerian startups using Israeli technology to solve African problems. Joint research between Israeli and Nigerian farmers to tackle food problems and climate change. Israeli and Nigerian entrepreneurs building companies that create jobs for thousands, if not millions," he said.

On healthcare, Freeman said Israel has brought doctors to work with and train Nigerian doctors and wants more Nigerian doctors to train in Israel to build capacity. While acknowledging Israel as top destination for health tourism for Nigerians, he said his ultimate dream is that no Nigerian comes to Israel for treatment not because they don't want to, but because all top hospitals are based in Nigeria.

On food security, the envoy said his dream is Nigeria no longer has challenge in food security but becomes food basket for West Africa and whole of Africa using Israeli technologies, agricultural skills and seedlings to create millions of farming jobs.

Freeman cited existing i-FAIR Innovation Fellowship for Aspiring Inventors and Researchers programme which has created thousands of jobs and attracted tens of millions of dollars outside investment, and new AI partnership this year to ensure African voice is developed from Nigeria.
