No wonder Camry 2.4 L I4 engine (Big for Nothing) cost fortune in Nigeria, because of its frequent failure & high demand.

I would advice, if you must buy that Camry model (Big 4 Nothing), avoid one with 2.4 L engine, I4 engine entirely or any Toyota with that particular engine, 2AZ-FE.

Just saying.

Not a fan of japanese, european cars r d best.

Removing the thermostat is BAD practice, I can't understand why you guys are allowing your "mechanics" to continue destroying your cars, despite all the threads on here. Overheating is caused by other factors, removing the thermostat merely masks an inherent problem.

Removing your thermostat will NOT make your fan run constantly. The fan is controlled electronically, your thermostat is purely mechanical. Your aircon fan is controlled by the Climate Control Module, which is integral with the digital Control Panel. Your quack has bypassed this, BAD move. You need to revert your car back to factory spec, before irreversible damage occurs.



You need to drain your cooling system completely, then achieve a 50 / 50 water / coolant mix in a 5-litre bucket, before filling your cooling system with it. And I can't over stress the need to use of G12 / G12+ or the equivalent.

Siena: Your thermostat has been removed, as it's overcooling at highway speeds. I would strongly advice you get it replaced - if your mechanic has discarded it, then you need to buy a replacement, otherwise your engine will sludge up.

And unless you want your engine to corrode from the inside out, I would also suggest you do NOT run your engine on plain water. You need to run G12 or higher. The 2,8 30V engine in your Audi A6 Quattro is cast-iron, with light alloy cylinder heads. Running plain water, or the wrong coolant will cause a reaction between both metals, and the chances of cylinder head gasket failure is high.

Your engine output isn't 200 bhp. North American cars put out 190 bhp, with European ones producing 193.

Siena: The codes that I would be looking into, are those of multiple / random misfire detected. Removing the cylinder head will just be a waste of money. That mechanic suggesting that needs to be shot.

The first thing a decent mechanic would do, to eliminate mechanical failure, would be to carry out a compression test. If that comes back okay, then the next thing to do would be to check the coilpack on #6 cylinder. That is my suspect. I would advise #6 coilpack is swapped with #1 on the opposite bank. If the misfire moves to cylinder #1, then that coilpack should be replaced, with a GENUINE NEW ITEM.

So, try this, before proceeding any further. Clear codes, and test drive for at least 5 miles. Then post any results here, including codes if any.
