I was expecting to read a very pitiful story seeing a really long write up only for me to find you going around in circles and giving us idioms. It's your opinion sha. The reason you can put a price on it is because they provide a way for you to keep account of almost every penny spent. Education is not cheap, and believe it or not, NOUN is one of the less priced ones.
Thank you for your myopics idea, I never new you should be pity? Because your lack senses of reasons. I am not bother because PGDE is not a requirements for my current job. I did PGDE with heart of education certification for future reference.

So be sure that I am not bother of the certificate, my MSc. is the most interesting programme for me currently. The fees is relatively cheap compared to semester payment and enjoying free internet 24/7 in a big school with over 50,000 students and room of 2 with quality and conducive library facilities.

You will still tell me whenNoun supposed to have E- Library or visual libraries to complement there grammatical mistakes and errors in modules that was not review for long.

I pity your case. I am not going to keep shut for the sake of young Nigeria who are working and who need to study also to think and be sure of what they will get in over 300k into with unit courses changing, appearing and disappearing like a car smoke.

Because Naira land website is one of the main sources and best gisting family about issues in Nigeria. It has replaced many hearts and have restricted many to let's ask naira land

Pls expression is not about pity, it is about how you feel and if NOUN officers are here, you should no that students and people that are aspiring to better places needs quality.

Education is not cheap as suggested by one of the comment I read but it worth to have value which must be equivalent to the acquisition of the certificate/ knowledge as reciprocal.

How many of NOUN officers have certificate in open distance education am not saying degree certificate? To know how open distance education work. Do they know what it means E- learning education?

Please, I am a victim of Noun I will soon screen grab my results for iu you to be sure that I had nice results for those that were released but it doesn't worth the effort and money when I paid 25k as project fees and 10k as T.P differently and when I met my supervisor from Ministry of Education not even a lecturer he asked for 40k as bribe and I had to beg because I was serving (NYSC) and I went with 20k prostrating a (month allawe) because of my Yoruba origin which my prostrating safe me and reduce 20k. I wanted reporting to the school and I was advised that's usual things and I kept quiet. I didn't quite because I have invested all my allawe on it with the hope that I will get PGDE. After submission for his signin, the supervisor forgot to submit back to school and the project was delayed.

I took this time not because of you that you are in my shoes already but to the new ones to decide what they will be up to in few days after paying 70k into portal before it starts reading like NEPA post paid metre.

I have to be like a pastor now that every charming of NOUN in your eyes be cleared up in Jesus name or in Insha Allah.

For you in my shoes God will deliver us. We will not keep quiet about it may be we can see a big online Twitter guy who can Tweets all this experience and can attract Federal Minister of Education and senators.

To you all Senator Dino Melaye is currently running MSc programme in ABU Zaria if he didn't attend class and come for 70% attendance no exam and CO.but ask your self why didn't he chooses NOUN.

Day before yesterday I mailed NOUN and central info, registrar they can't even acknowledge my mail not to talk of reply.

Thank you for these. If I tell you my own story, you would pity me.
Studying in NOUN remains the greatest mistake of my life!
I already have my B.Tech from Federal University and currently pursuing my M.Sc in ABU,Zaria. I did PGDE for education background and improve my teaching skills but it was all flaws.

You can despise my words but you will tell the ugly stories like me later. I am not bother about you running a cheap degree with exorbitant fees but my worry for you is demoralization and stomach ulcer you will live yourself which antacid" can not cure.

I remembered my boss scammed but I have made up mind not to scam any one with the good stories of NOUN.

Nigeria Government is not prepared for Open University, Obasanjo's brought to join the leagues of Bachelor's degree with his personal ambition. Anyone good for you.

But I know many of us here were told of the easy academics in NOUN, that was why someone like me could be scam.

I will advise you to go to UNISA which is one of the best rated open University in world which your stories will be change and money spent will be worth.

Our Government has never been faithful about lots of things and they come with all soughts of cheap things ( NOUN, Npower etc) for people just think that spending so much on this and at the end of the program you will be above 28- years after series of omissions and missing of results and you can get job again. Imagine you applied for EFCC, NPF with Waec, NCE or poly results you have better chances of being selected. Be wise . You can even set up kiosk with your portal fee if you can just check or you allow to withdraw it Lols and see how your shop will be.

When people are saying don't do something, you know they have seen something.

You know, dog that barks without seeing something is not foolish? Else me and you.

Bros that you also have a story tell, I wish you let them know so that people can actually here your stories and if you follow up with trend, I regret doing PGDE.

For how long will they perfect what they have establish since?

Conventional University have there flaws but you knos students can protest and unionism can come to play. Even in university there is quality assurance Dept where you can write and it will be investigated in cases of raping, and advent of phone records have brought careful attitude among lecturers else you don't have facts.

it might interest you to know that i concluded my masters in 2015 (msc Ict) and till now 3 results in the same courses for all the students haven't been released till date even after numerous applications to the school meanwhile certificate were issued to some of us that had same issues too during the last convocation even though they haven't seen there results too in which the whole class in its entirety was affected .....Imagine after spending so much and you are made to go through this type of ish.
thanks for your great understanding. Its painful if you spend so huge and nothing to show for it.

Oga just because that happened to u doesn't mean it would happen to him too, every school has its challenges even the conventional schools have cases of missing scripts. stop discouraging others because of Ur misfortune. I would advice u to look for solution to Ur problem and stop saying trash here. do u know the population of NOUN students nd do u think it's easy to coordinate their results? instead of u to commend their effort u re here saying.......... dey know about problems of missing scripts nd dey doing their best to make sure such issues would not happen again.
I am sure you are aware that the Bill to express ones mind is still part of my rights? I will not keep mute to tell people my ordeal with the program. After all the payment, supervisor will also charge you money to do project after paying project fees? NOUN NOUN! The population doesn't matter but the ability to think matters. May I say noun is charming......Lols
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Emanus: 2:43pm On Jul 11, 2016
Noun has been awarded the best school for missing results and missing scripts. Nigerian open your eyes. It is easy to get admission and you may not be able to get the certificate without exorbitant fees.

I did pgde with 179k and still have 3 missing results. Nawa ooooo. I would have committed suicide if I have done my university programme with them.

Guys there are lots of Universities in Nigeria now avoid noun certificates, is bombing raids. Lots of grammatical and spelling error. Noun will finished you.

I pity fresh school leavers who are forming to busy to get universities in Nigeria. People wey carry OAU, U.I, Futy, FUTA etc are not getting jobs. You are now wasting your money on TMAs, compulsory fees (40,000), course fees and examination fees, with semester fees. This is charm. NOUN is charming. ICT fee, imagine NOUN cannot provide good customer services for highly paying student, you can send a query for your case to be treat, officers of noun are biased. I am not happy doing PGDE with NOUN
Decide wisely and get Polytechnic or NCE which can fetch you job later in life.

Nigeria is not prepared for online education

good morning house, I have just been given an admission to study Business Administration (M.Sc.). Though I have not been given a matric number, but I will be doing that soon. Please I need to know the credentials to take along for my screening, and the likely fees to look forward to for the commencement of the program except the #40,000 I am to pay as the compulsory fee?
I will be very grateful if current or graduate students of this program can come to my aid.
Thanks and God bless.
Oyo is your case in NOUN, if you don't have money don't even pay, cos you will regret it. I will advise you not to pay compulsory fee as it is not refundable should incase you change your mind about not paying for other fees. Go to conventional University, you can even pay first and foremost and finish up your programme before paying for the remaining balance not in Noun.

I will welcome you to missing script and results school.

Pls when is second semester result coming out. Any information. For those of us that still have missing results in pgde courses what is our faith? How do we go about it after writing lots of applications with no response. Doubting the pgde programme of NOUN.

I have spent over 179k on this programme. I regretted doing open University programme.

It's really frustrating after spending some much money, time and reading lots of modules even with grammatical mistakes and errors.

Do you know people who were accepted with their NOUN cert to pursue postgraduate studies in other universities.?
I think there should be people, but sometimes with the idea that, they consider graduate from the same University before others. sometime, if you have the requirements and pass the Post Graduate Qualifying Examination, they will give you.

Sir, any idea on how acceptable NOUN certificate is when applying for postgraduate course in other universities.
Thanks in anticipation.
I don't have idea about NOUN acceptability. cos I only did Post Graduate Diploma in Education which cannot qualify me for M.Sc. But when I was serving, I did PGDE to have knowledge of Education practice and teaching. So no harm in trying out with what you have. Education certificate is require in my interest field of view, that was why I did PGDE

I guess the guy is working with Civil Defense or unpatriotic organization that covers up there mess with NOUN certificate. Go and prepared for discrimination and subjection to ascertain whether you are the type that change exam photo slip to write or you supervise your self under the covering of some unscrupulous elements working with NOUN. They show nepotism to people that doesn't give them penny. I have 3 missing results and you can't tell me that I forget to write my matric number or sign attendance sheets. I have been writing for exam for long. Any body that forget to write his or her name is an indication that the person is under durex conditions ( cheating) I guess is just a way to get people's money in NOUN. Think about it

Am not here to defend National Open University but this issue of missing result is caused by partly the students..Your matric number is not illegible and you expect to see your result. You didn't sign on the attendance sheet and you expect to see your result? let's be logically, don't pin all the blame on the institution , you have yourself to blame too.
I guess is unwise idea to conclude that student will not sign attendance? Where the invigilators are there checking for packing to be sure that all student signe. In my study centre, the counselor even calls people to get their attendance signed. This is not true. I beg NOUN is full of flaws! I pity the young ones studying here without adequate knowledge of there course. If you are one that couldn't make Jamb or clear o levels. Please you can still get it done and learn other a tutelage of Prof and Dr with great interest in your future to compete with sound mind with OAU, ABU Zaria, UNN, Fut Yola etc in the small job vacancies.

I am not here to defend the school but i dont know what u mean by "extremely expensive" can you give us the break down of your said amount because i spent around 150k for my MSC. About the missing result it happens even in conventional schools but may be minimal. Honestly NOUN need to do somethng about missing results, the school should employ more hands or reduce the number of intake in ordet to be efficient
Well, I have over 174,000 naira for PGDE now. I was forced to pay additional 10,000 when am in second semester of my programme. This inflated my fees from 13k to 23k. Teaching practice is 10k and project for PGDE is 25k, mo one pay all these fees in conventional University, I had my B. Tech in Technology school and PGDE in Noun, I can quote lots of differences. Is frustrating in open University which are run by administrator without distance learning certificate. I guess you need to see UNISA and values open University system for education. The problem is what you have also highlighted. Hardly you have missing results in university system. Except fail absent which you can easily sought after. NOUN staff are bias and don't have any further assistance once you are in there shoe!

You are not alone in this. Many students have the same problem. The courses are showing in your registrable courses simply because they have not released the results, not that you failed. I will advise you patiently wait till when they will release it. They will. It's just a matter of time. If you are in Lagos, you can also go to the HQ. No school doesn't have missing result palava. Beheading is not the solution to headache
Thanks for your concern, I had B.Tech already and nothing like missing results, it's called failed absent and incase if it means that shows you didn't write your Matric number, but Anyway it will not require you to pay money for what you did and you did not see.

I have to pay additional 10k to my compulsory fees of 13k as a second semester student for what was error on NOUN ICT, I wrote to centralinfo@ nou.edu.ng. I only got acknowledgement message and nothing was done. I called the customer service for NOUN, no customer service relations after I spent so much before the call was picked.

Beheading may not be cure for headache as suggested in your proverb but headache could make your day disgusting and fruitless if you have one! It's a pity for our dear country that nothing works,

Federal, state and private universities are really ensuring working to ensure headaches doesn't worry their students, I think NOUN can-do that too.

In NOUN you will register 8 courses and you will only get 3 course materials

In NOUN you will be supervised by your colleagues (Civil Defense, Police) and next exam the supervisor will turn to NOUN students again vice versa and impunity will be the song?

In NOUN the course materials are obsolete and cannot be reviews with lots of typos and grammatical mistakes

Am just trying to tell you headache could lead to beheading.
