Control in this sense will be mostly Process Control and a little of Control Theory. If you're an Electrical Engineer try to look for a good book on Process Control and Instrumentation(as it relates to oil and gas) to study. Take note of Instrumentation and Piping diagrams, and practice calculations too.

Many of the different course areas are grouped. So you can't just concentrate on one area alone. For example, Renewable energy would most likely be combined with energy systems and thermofluids.

The basic goal of energy is to know sources of renewable and non-renewable energy. Energy conversion from one form to another. what is the functional requirement for motor, dynamo and generators. You would also need to know the different energy cycle. Carnot cycle and efficiency, the purpose of reheating and rankine cycle. Fractional dryness ratio. Basic knowlege of the calculation on heat cycle. You would need to know heat capacity, specifific capacity, latent heat. You may also need to know potential and kinetic energy and their basic calculations.

These are areas any sensible expert on energy would like a basic person to know. This is the foundation of the course. Good luck

Section A was 40 questions. The questions were purely English questions. Section B was about 60 questions and it is based on the course you applied for. You should note that similar courses may write the same exams.

For instance Renewable Energy and Energy Systems had similar questions.

I can't remember exactly the time allotted for each section but the time is enough for someone that knows what he is doing.

Frankly speaking, you can't get past questions in your discipline for PTDF exams. What you should try to know is area of concentration for your field so you don't read amiss.

Mayflowa, any idea what I can read for Renewable Energy? I wrote Control Systems last year, and the questions were Process Control, I didn't study Chemical Engineering so I didn't find the exam funny. I don't want to read amiss, please help a bro.

PTDF will assist you in getting admission in Brazil, when you get the scholarship. That was how they did it for last year scholars.

udordike, you need to know the nature of job you'll be doing and prepare along that line. Don't just assume it's going to be Network Engineering, because they are actually different.

Bro the work differs, except the position is system Engineer with Networking Experience..In my previous company we have system Engineers at same time Net Engineers, except is a small organization that want use one person for the two, over 80% system Engineers knows nothing about Networking.

I am a graduate of Electrical/Electronics Engineering currently working with an electricity utility company. I plan starting my Masters with the 2016/2017 academic session. I initially applied for MEng Electrical Engineering (Power and Machines) and I have been admitted already. But I am considering changing to MSc Engineering Management. I am still a young graduate with just about 2+ years work experience.

I would love to know from more experienced minds which of out of these two Masters programs will be more relevant for an Engineer especially on the long run.

2. You have to know the federal character commissionner representing your state. Google his/her name and look for way to meet him/her. Pray he/she listens to You and if it happens, You have the job.
