The father, 43-year-old Rabiu Yusuf, told journalists, on Monday, at the Bauchi State Police Command headquarters, in Bauchi, while being paraded alongside other suspects by the police, that he tortured the boy to death due to his stubbornness.

Yusuf, who said he never knew his action would lead to the boy’s death, stated that he got infuriated with the deceased, following his running away from his house to stay with his mother, who he had divorced.

According to him, he had severally instructed the boy to return home but he refused, saying he had to go and take him home and chained him inside a room so that he would not run away.

“Trouble started when I divorced his mother and married another wife. My son, Aliyu, followed his mother to her new home and I was not in support of the arrangement.

“I called Aliyu several times to come back home because I want him to be in my custody as his father, but he refused, so I went to the mother’s home in annoyance and brought him back home.When I brought him back to my house, I chained him and locked him up inside the room, so that he did not escape and go back to his mother, but unfortunately he died,
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Haruna Mohammed, informed that Yusuf conspired with one Ismail Idris to kill the deceased.

According to the police spokesman, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Yusuf chained and detained the boy for a period of 10 days, but he later fell sick as a result of the ill-treatment meted to him by his father. He added that the boy was taken to Rimi Clinic in Bauchi, where he died while receiving treatment.

The little girl , Little Eloise Lampton who was born healthily but died 24 days later after becoming infected with the herpes virus, after she was kissed by a mystery person with cold sores.

Her devastated parents, Sarah Pugh, and Douglas Lampton, don't even know who unknowingly passed the infection onto their newborn daughter.

Ms Pugh said: "I was devastated to know she was born healthily and then this happened.

"They thought it could have come from me, but I didn't test positive to the disease.

"It was passed on through a cold sore.

"It could have been from anyone."
Eloise was born by cesarean section on November 1 and went home with her parents, who have three other children.

But a week later she started to lose weight and became very ill.
She went into hospital and doctors put her on life support as doctors tried to find out what was causing her illness.

But she lost her hard-fought battle when she contracted a blood infection and later died in the arms of her devastated parents.

A bizarre incident took place earlier this year in Zimbabwe, where a woman could not neglect the last wish of her late husband.
According to India Today, one Sarah Simirayi of Svisvi was forced to have s ex with her estranged husband… in his coffin… after death… before his burial.

Sarah left her husband for a new lover, however some time later she moved back to her hometown after having broken up with the man. Soon after her return, her estranged husband Nunurayi died at the age of 68.

He put his last will in writing. In a note, which he asked to be read at the funeral, the man said that he died because of being heartbroken over missing her. And asked Sarah to fulfill his last wish and have s ex with him before the burial.

It was reported that first she refused to do that but then succumbed to pressure and accepted the task, as requested by the relatives. One of the family members disclosed that they had opened the coffin, after which the woman climbed on top of her late husband and had s ex with his body.

Relatives say the dead man was able to perform “quite satisfactorily”, calling it “angel lust.”

A man called Paul Watson has been
charged with malicious wounding with
intent to cause grievous bodily harm, he is
going to be in a big trouble if he is
convicted.
What did he do? He is accused of using a
high- strength glue on a female’s genitals.
This victim is yet to be identified and no
further details have been released.
Watson, , was remanded in custody
following the hearing. Prosecutor Pam
Smith asked for the case to be heard at
crown court due to the seriousness of the
allegation.
Magistrates reluctantly accepted and
Watson is set to appear at Preston Crown
Court for a plea and case management
hearing on November 26.
If convicted, Watson could face a custodial
sentence. The trial continues.

Last week, the bizarre news of rapture

In a little town of Glenrock early Thursday, it has been reported that almost 1000 residents went missing overnight.

It is so alarming because the police are searching everywhere but they have not found them.

Some Christians believed that they have been taken into heaven by heaven in ‘the rapture’ “They just disappeared,” said a resident.

“My husband was gone. Just gone. I’m sad I’ve been left behind, but happy for him. But who knows, maybe I will be raptured later today.”

“There was a brilliant light that came shining into my bedroom window around 3:00 am that woke me up,” said another resident who was also left behind.

“I didn’t know what it was. I got up, checked my kids’ bedrooms and they were gone.”

“This is so exciting,” a local farmer said. “This world has become too vile and nasty, and now it’s going to end.”

Yenagoa, the commercial hub of Bayelsa
State was on standstill on Thursday, 13
November, 2014, due to the visit of wife
of President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience.
According to Punch report, social and
commercial activities were paralysed on the
Yenagoa Mbiama Road for many hours as a
result of traffic congestion that was caused
by overzealous security operatives, who
cordoned off some places with their vans.
It was gathered that the President’s wife
was in town to distribute empowerment
items to some groups in the state.
Due to the traffic gridlock, commuters and
motorists were seen struggling to make
detours, while those who were frustrated
by the long traffic jam disembarked from
their vehicles not knowing what to do next.
Speaking on the unfortunate situation, a
teacher in a school at the Erekpa area of the
town, Mr. Preye Goodluck, said the roads
had been blocked as early as 10am in
anticipation of Patience’s visit.
“As early as 10am, security personnel
blocked some roads in the Yenagoa
metropolis, particularly the Ovom and
Etegwe areas of the capital city.
“Scores of persons who went to the
outskirts of the metropolis, such as
Igbogene, Agudama and other places, were
also affected because they found it
extremely difficult to wade through the
snarls.
“Many of us who wished to get to other
parts of the metropolis had to pass through
Isaac Boro Expressway. Even the traffic on
the expressway was beginning to build up
around 3pm,” he said.
Also, a distraught motorist, Mrs. Stella
Honesty, wondered what the President’s
wife was coming to give as empowerment
items to the people.
She said: “Is it because general elections are
around the corner? In fact, if I were some
people, I will reject any empowerment.
Where was she all this while? Some of us
have refused to be deceived by this entire
political gimmick.
“Look at the kind of suffering one is going
through because she is coming. Must she
create tension each time she visits
anywhere? I have been trapped in this
logjam for a long time for a journey that
would not have been more than 30
minutes.”
Meanwhile, at the Samson Shania Stadium at
Ovom, Yenagoa venue of the programme,
Mrs. Jonathan gave away various gifts and
cheques to different groups.
She urged the women to vote en masse for
her husband, Jonathan, who recently
declared for re-election.
She said the People’s Democratic Party, PDP,
provided the best platform for women in
the country.
She reminded the women that her husband
had promised 35 per cent positions for
womenfolk in his government if he won the
2015 presidential elections.
It was however, gathered that Governor
Seriake Dickson was not present at the
event, but his deputy, Rear Admiral John
Jonah (retd.), attended.

Even after splashing heavy
cash on top players and
starting with relatively
easy fixtures, Van Gaal is
going even worse than
David Moyes.
The stats tell the entire story as the Dutch
manager is finding it hard to gel the new
players and compete at the highest level.

Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola
has confirmed the state has received the
N200 million intervention fund from the
Federal Government for the containment of
Ebola in the state.
He also assured residents that through
concerted effort by health workers, the
state government had been able to contain
the spread of the deadly Ebola Virus
Disease (EVD).
Fashola made this known while receiving
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and
other items for the treatment of Ebola
cases from a delegation from MTN, Nigeria,
led by its Chairman, Dr. Pascal Dozie, at the
Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja.
Commending health workers who risked
their lives to save Ebola patients, the
governor said: “They stood up to be
counted when there was dire need, when
there was fear even at the highest levels of
government.
But in spite of those fears some men and
women stood up to be counted. We will
talk about them later.

Mexican authorities say a mass die-off of fish at a lake in western Mexico was not due to natural causes.

Over 33 metric tons of rotting dead fish have been removed from Lake Cajititlan in Jalisco state. The cause of the die-off has not been determined but the state environment department said late Sunday it was not due to natural causes. Workers using shovels, a bulldozer, boats and wheel barrels removed the dead fish, which are being sent for testing.

It was the fourth time this year there has been a die-off at the shallow lake, which sits between Guadalajara and Lake Chapala. Some had speculated abrupt changes in temperature or oxygen levels may have been responsible for earlier incidents.

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will join other African leaders in Nairobi, Kenya’s capital city on Monday, to participate in a meeting of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council slated for Tuesday.

A statement by the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Dr Reuben Abati noted that will receive and consider the report of the Chairperson of the African Union Commission on Terrorism and Violent Extremism in Africa.

The Nairobi meeting is a follow-up to talks by President Jonathan and other African leaders at Pretoria, South Africa in May this year on joint action against terrorism.

Deliberations at the Nairobi Summit and the adoption of the African Chairperson’s Report by President Jonathan, President Uhuru Kenyatta and other participating Heads of State are expected to lead to more collaborative actions by Nigeria and other African countries to rid the continent of acts of terrorism and violent extremism.

The President will be accompanied to the Summit by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr. Nurudeen Mohammed, the National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd.) as well as other advisers and aides. He is expected back in Abuja on Tuesday.
