In my experience from studying at a Nigerian university though, I must admit that there are much more students that can bag a first, if the system but let them do so in all fairness. I feel that most of these celebrated ones, have more luck/grace/favor or whatever, than they actually do extraordinary intelligence.

But getting a 1st class requires superb intelligence and discipline.
